Quiet and nature place. There are two well defined seasons in the Amazon region. The place is a village of fishermen and small farmers (also called “ribeirinhos ” and “quilombolas”). The "ribeirinhos" are people who live close to the river and depend on the river for everything. The "quilombolas" are descendants of slaves who took refuge in the place. Locals are engaged in artisanal fishing for their own subsistence. The Municipal Market of Mocajuba is the main market that supplies the region and their families.
Below, you will find the activities that can be done at the place. There are possibilities to explore plants, animals and the cultural diversity. There are no restaurants, shops or markets at the place.

4) canoe trip through “furos” and “igarapés”. A “furo” or “igarapé” is a watercourse of first or third order, consisting of a long river or channel. They are characterized by shallow waters and almost run into the forest.

It is possible to prepare meals in the house. The kitchen is equipped with freezer, refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, blender and mixer, dishes, cutlery and pans. Although there aren't shops or markets at the place, it is possible to find the necessary for cooking in Mocajuba.

The house is not located in Belém. The location that is pointed on the map is wrong. The house is located near to Mocajuba city. To reach the house:
1°) From Belem to Mocajuba:
a) By car: Take the PA-151 road (see the map on pictures)
b) By bus:
Take the bus with Boa Esperança company R$ 42.00 reais + 2,00 tax. Their site has an english version on rigth-up corner only AFTER you select the dates and cities. The trip takes 4 hours. Belem to Mocajuba departures: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)°) From Mocajuba to the Island:
a) The boat schedule to the house only works during the day. There is a public boat leaving from Monday to Saturday, 11: 30, and the ticket is R$ 4.00 reais p/p. However, it does not work on Sundays. (45 minutes approx. depending on the river stream)
b) The other alternative is to take a private boat (R$ 100.00 reais, no matter the number of people inside). You decide on the schedule, always during the day. (45 minutes approx. depending on the river stream)
Both boats may be taken at Municipal Market of Mocajuba (Mercado Municipal de Mocajuba). From Mocajuba bus satation to Municipal market a taxi can be taken R$15,00. The boat stops in front of the house. Other Things to NoteThere is mobile signal on the property. Operators: TIM.
