The SpaceThis 1950s house was architect designed and ahead of it's time making it feel solid and traditional whilst being modern, open, filled with light and surrounded by views. The large garden full of mature trees is a peaceful haven for humans and wildlife. Despite being one block away from the highway the most common comment here is "It's so quiet." And so private. Once you walk in the front you are virtually invisible to the neighbours. Your room is a standard bedroom with a double bed and innerspring mattress. A large built in wardrobe is available for use. Outside your room is a cathedral ceilinged sunroom and a large deck which has areas of sun and shade most of the day. Breakfast foods are available in the kitchen. The bathroom is shared with myself (a slight neat freak) and has a separate toilet. It is located near your room, but don't worry, everywhere are double brick walls, you don't hear much in this house. Please note: Occasionally as it suits myself and the guests, if the bedsit is available I have upgraded bookings from the house to the bedsit. This means some of the reviews talking about the lovely apartment/flat etc are actually referring to downstairs. Guest AccessYou are free to use the garden, the terrace and the clothesline. The sunroom is for your use. We share the kitchen and you are welcome to use the living room. Interaction with GuestsI 'live' at the other end of the house so you can choose how much you see of me. The NeighborhoodLindisfarne is the perfect place to stay. It is literally close to everything. Eastlands shopping centre is just over the hill, and Lindisfarne village with chemists, Woolworths, bakeries and butchers is 1 km away. There is a small supermarket with an excellent deli and ready to eat selections just a couple of minutes walk across the school oval. Gourmet bakeries, cafes or Chinese are available in the village. A newly refurbished bar with an excellent dining room is just 500m up the road or there are excellent take away and dine in options in North Hobart or Bellerive, each 10 minutes drive away. MONA is just up the river (15-20 mins by car), Hobart is just over the bridge, 2.5km away. Salamanca Market runs there every Saturday. There's a great view of Hobart just up the road from home or take a quick drive up Mt Wellington (25mins). Bonorong Wildlife park is 20 minutes away as is historic Richmond. Beaches start 10 minutes away in Bellerive and continue down the many coastlines with some lovely picturesque surf beaches just 30-45 minutes drive. Mt Field National Park, Russell Falls, the Huon Valley, are all within easy reach. Getting AroundJust 20 minutes drive from the airport, 5 minutes from the centre of Hobart, central to so many local features. Metro bus stop is on the highway, a 100m walk across the school oval with several different routes converging just before our stop. Metro buses are not too bad during the week, but are shockingly timed late at night or on Sundays. Taxi to/from the city is about $15-20, to the airport about $40-50. I am also often available (for petrol money) to drop you places and if during school holidays can do airport pick up or drop off for $20 Other Things to NoteMy garden is a haven - currently I have several possums, a bandicoot, a rabbit and a wallaby, all wild animals who come and go at will.

The SpaceThe spacious bedrooms boast king size beds with beautiful linen, electric blankets and panel heaters so you will always be toasty warm. An ensuite, tv and safe are also part of the main bedroom wing. If required the King size bed in bedroom two can be reconfigured into two extra long single beds and bedroom three has a King Single. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating and heated towel rails with a double vanity and double shower in the en suite and freestanding bath in the main bathroom. Luxurious organic toiletries and waffle weave robes complete the perfect bathing experience. The living room comprises of a 3.5 seat sofa in front of the gas log fire that provides ambiance and warmth in the cooler months or this room leads out through double doors onto the spacious private deck, ideal for relaxing and entertaining in the warmer months. In house entertainment includes free wifi, dvd player, foxtel tv, 40inch lcd tv and state of the art sonos sound system operated through your phone or tablet and played through speakers in the ceiling. Provisions for a cooked breakfast are supplied for your first morning with tea connoisseurs catered for with a selection of of T2 teas. If coffee is more your speed a Nespresso pod coffee machine is on hand or a short walk to the village cafes, bakery and restaurants may be in order. The cooks kitchen boasts European appliances including a microwave, dishwasher and induction cook-top. If cooking is your idea of relaxing then this is the space for you with a granite bench top ideal for rolling out pastry. We can also organise a chef to cook a romantic meal for you in the kitchen (for an additional cost). Eating out can be enjoyed in Bellerive Village with restaurants including Thai, Chinese, Italian, Japanese etc. If you would like to venture further afield a water taxi is available from the Bellerive Boardwalk that will take you directly to Salamanca and the city. After all that eating you can walk across the road to the open air gym or take a stroll along the beach. Guest AccessHistoric Bellerive has many attractions in easy walking distance including The Bluff, Fort, walking and cycling track, International Blundstone Arena, Croquet club, Golf club, Lawn bowls and Tennis. Alternatively, take a relaxing stroll along Bellerive and Howrah beaches, a swim in the warmer months or leave the bedroom window open to go to sleep with the soothing sounds of waves breaking. The SpaceNewly refreshed, this downstairs area of the 1950s brick home is perfect for short stays with a luxurious bedroom with a new Queen sized bed. , built in wardrobe, lounge chair, a walk in shower, separate toilet and well appointed separate galley kitchen with access to a private outside area with a table and chairs. Easily heated if necessary the room has a corner window for sunny afternoon lazing and stays pleasantly cool on the hottest days (fan also provided). A washer, clothes airer and access to the clothesline make this a perfect spot to refresh and recharge in between seeing the sights. Wifi and heaps of DVDs but no TV. There is a step inside between two levels and 2 steps at the entrance. Interaction with GuestsI live in the house above the bedsit but don't worry, you'll hardly hear me, and no one sleeps above the bedsit so your privacy is ensured. There are no connecting stairs. It's just me unless I have guests in my other room, which is the other end of the house. Feel free to pop up to ask questions or borrow anything that may not yet be supplied downstairs. The NeighborhoodLindisfarne is the perfect place to stay. It is literally close to everything. Eastlands shopping centre is just over the hill, and Lindisfarne village with chemists, Woolworths, bakeries and butchers is 1 km away. Other Things to NoteMy garden is a haven - currently I have several possums, a bandicoot, a rabbit and a wallaby, all wild animals who come and go at will.

Our ‘deluxe’ units have two separate bedrooms. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and 3 singles in the second bedroom (including a set of bunks). The apartments are comfortable, sparkling clean and well-appointed being fully self-contained.

The SpaceThe Bungalow is less than 100 mtrs to the beach which means you can enjoy lovely walks and even fall asleep to the sound of waves breaking on the beach! Guest AccessYou have access to the entire back yard as per photos, feel free to sample the fruit from the fruit trees when in season! Interaction with GuestsThe host Bruce lives in the main house and is easily accessed by phone also The NeighborhoodBellerive Bluff has become one of the most sought after areas to live, due largely to its relaxed lifestyle and natural beauty! It is the second oldest historic precinct in Hobart so there is plenty to see and do locally! The old fort with big guns still in place just up the hill from the Bungalow, is both interesting and fun! There is an historic signposted walk (convict trail) around the Bluff taking in lovely period homes and other things of interest, not least, the lovely views of the Derwent estuary and Mt Wellington! The SpaceYou’ll have a private and uncluttered one-bedroom apartment in a separate part of our house. This bright and sunny space includes a sitting room and well equipped kitchenette, as well as separate bathroom and toilet. The rooms overlook the garden with views across the river. The sitting room has French doors which open onto the terrace with an outdoor table and chairs, as well as a gas BBQ. There is also a LCD television and small sound system. The separate bedroom has a comfortable Queen-sized bed. The apartment is easy to keep comfortable as it has a quiet reverse-cycle air-conditioner/heater and opening windows. The house is surrounded by trees which are visited by local birds, including pardalotes and green parrots. At night, you might get a glimpse of the visiting bandicoots, wallabies and possums. Your Breakfast: As well as tea and coffee, we provide a continental breakfast. If you would like to cook some meals for yourself, the kitchenette has an electric jug and toaster, as well as a microwave, with a small bench top stove and saucepans. The apartment features some beautiful handmade ceramics. The apartment is very quiet and sunny. You can be as private or as sociable as you please. The apartment is separated from the house by a locked door and has its own separate entrance. If you feel like it, we would be pleased to have a chat and share a drink with you. If you need anything, just pop upstairs and see if we have it. We’ll be only too pleased to help if we can. Our home is in a quiet street and we are only 5 minutes by car from Hobart City centre. There are also bus stops nearby. We have a bushland reserve just above our street and we are only minutes walk away to the foreshore path for quiet strolls, and over 20 kilometres of safe cycling. This well-formed track winds along the Derwent River with stunning views of the water and mountains beyond. When not working in our day jobs, we are both artists with studios in our house and garden. As a result, you will be able to enjoy the contemporary art and ceramics that are in the apartment. As well as being only 15 minutes from the airport, we are just 5 minutes by car to the Hobart City centre and MONA ferry. Bus stops to the city are only a couple of blocks away. Getting AroundThe residence has ample parking for your car and is situated close to a main bus route with a regular service to Hobart City. Taxi fares to the city are around $20 and about $30 to Hobart Airport. Hire cars are available from Hobart Airport and in the city. Other Things to NoteThere is a full laundry and dryer if required. The house has a reverse cycle heat pump/air conditioner. There is an internal methylated spirit fire providing a cosy atmosphere. A cot and a port-a-cot is available upon request.

The SpaceWe have a Queen sized bed in our master bedroom, two bunks in our son's room and a single bed in our daughter's room. We also have a comfortable sofa bed in our lounge room, so our house could sleep 7. Although small compared to some, it has a good layout and has been renovated extensively throughout. It is in a quiet location, 5 minutes walk to the beach and 1 minute's walk to the river's edge - next to a boat ramp. We have a 2 person sit on kayak that you could use and we can make Mountain bikes available too. We are a 20 minute drive from MONA. Guest AccessThe whole home, Mountain bikes, and Kayak. Garage is not accessible. Interaction with GuestsMinimal, will communicate regularly as required, but may be away, but will have hosts/contacts in place for all needs of guest. The NeighborhoodOur house is in a great location. We overlook the Derwent River with views over to Hobart and down the river and of the majestic Mount Wellington. We are close to the local beach and a 1 minute walk to the river's edge. Bellerive village(6mins walk away) has some great restaurants and Cafes and we are only a 10 minute walk from Blundstone Arena. Hobart City is a 15 minute drive or you can get a water taxi too. It really is a gem of a location. Getting AroundBuses are available and everything is in easy walking or riding distance. Driving in Hobart is generally stress-free.

An ensuite, tv and safe are also part of the main bedroom wing. If required the King size bed in bedroom two can be reconfigured into two extra long single beds, whilst Bedroom 3 offers a King Single bed. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating and heated towel rails with a double vanity and double shower in the en suite and freestanding bath in the main bathroom. Luxurious organic toiletries and waffle weave robes complete the perfect bathing experience. The living room comprises of a 3.5 seat sofa in front of the gas log fire that provides ambiance and warmth in the cooler months or this room leads out through double doors onto the spacious private deck, ideal for relaxing and entertaining in the warmer months. We also have a large 7 person heated spa that is available for guests to use. If you are a cricket fan we are almost next door to the Blundstone Arena, so there are no parking hassles if you want to attend a game or two ! We are about 15 kms from the airport so taxi to our door is one option for getting here. Another is the airport bus to the CBD and a metro bus that takes you to within 200m of our door. Getting AroundWe are very close (one minute) from a bus stop. A regular bus service takes you into the city under six minutes. For the active it takes about 40 minutes to walk the picturesque route. We are on the way to the airport (10 minutes) Other Things to NoteThere is ample room to park a car very close to the home or off street parking and being in a cul de sac - usually very safe.

        The SpaceThis listing is my non-smoking home in a very quiet neighbourhood. Your bedroom can accommodate a single person or a couple, but there is no room for additional people. Your bedroom includes an excellent comfortable Queen sized bed complete with cosy doona and electric blanket, a substantial hanging space in a wardrobe, storage drawers, additional cotton (summer) woollen (winter) blankets, and pillows, and bedside lamps. The windows are double glazed for temperature control, and they are covered with heavy drapes to block out the morning sun and allow for deep uninterrupted sleep. Our shared bathroom, with both shower and bath, is located immediately next door to your room. The toilet is separate from the bathroom. In the kitchen, a tray offers you a range of complimentary teas and coffees. The milk is in the fridge. Please make yourself a cuppa whenever you wish. If you would like me to provide a light breakfast, please ask when you make your reservation and I can provide more details including the additional cost that will be involved (alternatively you may wish to buy food at the local supermarket and eat here, or go out to a local cafe for breakfast). My home has a balcony, an outdoor patio, a garden flush with fruit trees, and free-off-street parking. My home is located a few minutes’ walk to a bus mall which can take you to the Hobart city CBD (only 6-10 minutes drive away), my home is ideal for people who enjoy quiet living with easy access to facilities, services and tourist attractions. Guest AccessMy home is a 15-20 minute drive from the airport and 5-10 minutes from the Hobart CBD. I live at the end of a quiet cul de sac yet only a few minute's walk to shopping centres, supermarkets, bottle shop, a cinema, post office, newsagent, bakery, hairdresser, doctor, cafes, fast food outlets, and much more. A 20 minute walk will take you to a range of other restaurants. There are many bus services which can support some of these walks. Taxis arrive almost immediately after booking - excellent service. On the other hand, if you like solitude and privacy I will not be intrusive. After all, this is your holiday! The NeighborhoodThe Clarence Foreshore Trail is a pedestrian and cycle path which leads north and south from Bellerive and offers wonderful vistas of the Derwent River, Mount Wellington, historical sites, our fabulous beaches and different suburbs. I have walked this trail and others (the photo of me was taken by a casual passer-by on one of my walks along the Derwent River) and so I will be very happy to talk with you about the local possibilities. Getting AroundA number of bus stops are located 5-10 minutes’ walk from the house. The trip into the CBD of Hobart city takes around 10-12 minutes by bus. If you choose to walk into the city, depending on your fitness you might reach there in an around an hour (I have often enjoyed walking over the Tasman Bridge into the city or back home). Bellerive Village and Bellerive Beach are 20-25 minutes’ walk away or a 3 minute bus trip. Taxi services from Hobart city typically average around $18 one way. In other words, it is very easy to get around from this location. It takes 20 minutes to drive to the airport and the cost of a taxi to the airport is around $45. If you have your own car, you will have free off-street parking at my house. I don't own a car so the carport will be yours. Other Things to NoteI will be living in the house while you stay. While I will be happy to chat with you if you wish, I am also happy to allow you your space. I do not have any pets but this is a cat friendly neighbourhood. Did you know that Hobart is the driest capital city in Australia, despite being the southern most? Many visitors find they never unfurl their umbrellas - but it is always wise to carry one just in case the weather changes quickly and unexpectedly. Did you know that another Australian capital city (Canberra) routinely has much colder mornings in winter than Hobart ever experiences? Nevertheless you should always bring your winter woollies with you when visiting Hobart. My home is not child-friendly and the room and space are for adults only.

        The SpaceThe Gypsy Wagon is locally crafted, made out of new and old materials. It contains a very comfy double bed, a table and cane chair, a shelf and a small cupboard plus under bed storage. You have electricity, and depending on the season a small heater or fan are available. Bathroom and kitchen are shared in the main house. Guest AccessYou will have access to our large family bathroom with bath, shower and heated towel rail. You also are welcome to use our kitchen and have access to free wifi. Linen and towels are provided. If you are lucky , you get a fresh egg from one of our 'Ladies'. Interaction with GuestsWe are a small family of four, plus our dog and cat, four chooks and two guinea pigs. You can have as much or as little interaction as you prefer. We prepare breakfast for you, which you can enjoy in your Wagon, outside in the garden or with us. The NeighborhoodBellerive Village has lots to offer: close to beautiful Bellerive Beach and walking distance from Blundstone Arena. And only 10 minutes away ( by car) from Hobart city. We have beautiful walks around Bellerive, and great cafes. Our house is heritage listed in the older part of Bellerive. Only 20 Minutes by car to our famous Museum Mona or 30 Minutes to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Salamanca Markets on a Saturday is a great experience. Getting AroundBus stop is only a few walking minutes away, where buses go regularly into town. We also have a bicycle for guest use. Other Things to NoteWe do have a dog, he is very friendly, but he does bark! We also have a cat and 4 chooks , they like to announce loudly that they have laid an egg! The toilet is inside the main house and there are 4 steps leading into the wagon. The wagon is on wheels and when its windy, you can feel it moving a bit!
