We live in a large Victorian renovated family house. It is a charming home with verandahs all around it. Our children have moved out and the house feels empty. We are close to an excellent shopping centre (2 minute walk) and the house is set on a double block. There are plenty of outdoor living areas with beautiful gardens and a huge vegetable garden. The best beaches in the world are at our back door as we are only 15 minutes from Torquay. Melbourne is within a stones throw and is 1 hour on the train. The bedrooms are generous and we have 2 bathrooms. Guests are afforded plenty of privacy as the bedrooms and second bathroom are in another part of the house. It is a safe area that we live in and is a quiet neighbourhood. We are close to cafe and dining places and have a bus stop within a 1 minute walk.

The SpaceThe house is a spacious & tidy 3 bedroom house. The room includes a double bed, bedside table, built in robe and tall boy/draws. The house is fully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen and deck amongst the gum trees, with barbecue. The kitchen and living areas are shared with myself. Right on the doorstep of the Great Ocean road, you have access to world class surf beaches, bush walking, and vineyards. A 10 minute drive to Mt Duneed Estate, where A Day On the Green concerts are held. Free onsite parking available if you have a car. Guest AccessPrivate bathroom with bath tub and large shower. The NeighborhoodQuiet comfortable area that is easily accessible to many surrounding beaches, shops and the city (Geelong and Melbourne). Getting AroundIt is only a 10-15 minute walk to the local hotel for a quality meal, and less than 5 minutes to the supermarket/grocer. Within close proximity to bus routes and Marshall train station. Rail goes direct to Geelong and Melbourne, and buses go to Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Torquay and the Great Ocean Rd! Other Things to NoteWashing machine available. Please supply own washing detergent. Clean sheets and towels are provided as well as shampoo/conditioner, body wash and moisturisers. The SpaceDuring your stay you will be enjoying the lovely large main bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed and a lounge chair for you to use to relax and watch your very own large screen t.v. (with dvd player). You will also enjoy the privacy of your own double ensuite which is attached for your own personal use throughout your stay. The ensuite has a double shower, a toilet and his and hers bathroom bowls. Clean sheets, towels and toiletries are provided. We have a lovely old golden lab named Harry who is 12 years old, gentle giant, and is never allowed in the bedrooms. We adopted Harry two years ago from Geelong Animal Rescue, and he completes us... Truly a lovely addition to our home and great security too. He does not lick, jump, bite, dig or chew.... Phew, very well trained. Guest AccessYou are more than welcome to prepare snacks or meals in the fully stocked gourmet kitchen. I am the only other person using the kitchen, it is very clean and a lovely space to cook in. It is stocked with all you will possibly need to cook or bake, it is one of my favourite rooms in my home. Leading out from the kitchen through the sliding doors is a lovely covered timber deck where you can enjoy a bbq or sit back and relax in the reclining chairs after your days sightseeing. Also provided free is access to a high speed unlimited internet service, any of your devices will be able to connect wirelessly. What you will be sharing with us and can make use of is the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge room which has a large screen t.v. (Standard free to air channels only) and access to music and dvd's. There is parking in the driveway and the suburb is very safe. Clean sheets and towels are provided. His name is Keane and he is a delight and would love to show you his collection of souvenirs he has collected from around the world. We both live quiet lives and are always working towards and talking about our next holiday. Keane and I have travelled extensively and we first experienced Air Bnb a few years back when we travelled to the United States and we thought it would be great to be hosts too now. Our experience as Air bnb guests was so fabulous and problem free, that we thought we would like to provide a safe and clean haven for other travellers to experience and relax in whilst visiting this lovely region. Somewhere to recharge the batteries (and catchup on the laundry) and enjoy a home cooked meal. There is also a covered timber deck with a BBQ and space for up to 6 to dine and two chairs to lie in to read or relax. I would love to chat with you about your travel plans, and give you any pointers to assist with bookings or directions if required. You can access the laundry at any time to use the washing machine and dryer, or the outside clothes line - help yourself to the detergents. I know what it is like to need your whole suitcase of clothes washed ready for the next week of holidaying. Breakfast is on us, and you are more than welcome to prepare your lunches and evening meals if you wish. We can show you where to buy the freshest produce, and we are close to grocery stores. We have a house phone and a mobile phone which you can use to make local calls, and also we can assist you with purchasing cheap overseas call cards which are only a few cents per minute to call anywhere around the world. During your stay I will be more than happy to assist with tourist/sightseeing suggestions and information, resupply of essentials, maps, directions or any medical needs (we are situated close to several medical clinics and pharmacies). I also picked up from the Tourist and Information Centre in Geelong brochures which will advise you on the wide variety of activities on offer in the Geelong region. Both families, singles and couples are very welcome. We value our privacy as much as you do & want you to 'feel at home' in our home, however should you need someone to share a beer or glass of wine with, we may be able to help! The local shops are two streets away where you can purchase some snacks, food staples and alcohol. Getting AroundAvalon airport is a 20 minute car trip away, and Tullamarine airport is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes by car. An airport bus operates both ways between Tullamarine airport and Geelong. Grovedale a suburb of Geelong is situated close to the start of the Great Ocean Road, where the 'Road meets the Ocean'. If you do not have a car a V-Line train is only a ten minute walk away, the train will take approximately 50 minutes to Melbourne. Two streets away is the local bus stop which will take you into Geelong town and all around the local area. We hope you choose to stay with us and visit Geelong, which is near to all that the Victorian Surf Coast has to offer; wineries, beaches, restaurants, markets, and of course - The Great Ocean Road. We are a 20km trip by car (15 minute drive) to the world famous Bells Beach. Other Things to NoteWe have a golden labrador, he is 12 years old and has the best manners and is extremely well trained. We have had him for over two years now, he is a rescue dog who very quickly stole our hearts. There is the main double bedroom with ensuite for use, but if you are travelling in a group, I do have a second and third bedroom with queen size beds available also (see photos). Please note that the calendar and pricing only reflects one room, the main bedroom at $100 per night. I am open for negotiating a weekly rate for the main room, or a nightly and week rate for the whole house.

Certainly available to advise on where is good, what to see. The NeighborhoodBelmont is a lovely area, up on the hill, there are beautiful walks along the Barwon River nearby. The High Street shops (over 50 shops and cafes) are only 5 minutes walk so stocking up is easy. The famous Surf Coast and Bells Beach are about 25 minutes by car, Buses run there also. Sip Cafe is right across the road! yum. Getting AroundThere are several Bus Routes nearby, both down Mt Pleasant Road and High Street. South Geelong Rail Station is just across the river either a 10 - 15 minute walk or 5 on the bus. The Rail gives access to Melbourne 1 hr or to Warrnambool on the West Coast 2.5 Hrs Other Things to NoteThe Plum tree in the back yard is a sensation in late December into January. Pick straight from the tree and enjoy!

The SpaceOur little cabin is comfortable, private and has everything you need for an affordable weekend or short stay. The kitchen area has a kettle, toaster, small fridge, microwave, two electric hot plates and a small oven with (now with operating instructions). The bedroom has a really comfortable bed and leads into the ensuite bathroom. We provide sheets and towels for guests during their stay. Outside is a porch with a rack to hang your towels on after a day at the beach and a private courtyard with a BBQ. Some reviews have mentioned the closeness to our house, so for clarity, the cabin is positioned about 30 metres away from our house. It is not luxury accommodation but rather a place from which easy going people can enjoy all that the Surfcoast and surrounds have to offer. We allow flexible check-in, check-out times. Although we prefer you to let us know if you plan to arrive before 12pm or depart after 2pm, to help us with preparing for your stay. This is an environmentally friendly property that has solar generated electricity (backed up by mains), environmentally safe cleaning products and a self composting toilet. Guest AccessThe cabin is set apart from the main house. Sign posts on the driveway direct you to the cabin and car parking space. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you like. As a self contained space, you are encouraged to enjoy the space and come and go at your own leisure. However we are more than happy to offer local knowledge and give any extra help, should it be needed. The NeighborhoodMt Duneed is part of a green belt between Torquay and Geelong. It is only a 7 minute drive to central Torquay, 10 minutes to Barwon Heads and 20 minutes to Geelong CBD. You will find a range of poplar surf spots - 13th Beach, Pt Impossible and Torquay- all about 10 minutes drive and about 15 minutes to Bells Beach. Every Saturday morning the Torquay Farmers' Market has a great range of locally grown and made produce, I can't resist the chocolate croissants! The Barwon Heads market is held on the last Saturday of the month most of the year and every Saturday December- February. There are also various other markets in the area at different times of the year. Also conveniently close to an Aldi and IGA as well as a discount chemist and fast food chains such as KFC, Subway and fish n chips and only a 10 minute drive to the Waurn Ponds shopping complex. Also the Waurn Ponds Trail is just a few minutes down the road, a great 6.37km family bike ride with parks along the way that leads straight to the shopping centre. You will find High St, Belmont is also a short drive away where there are 2 Coles supermarkets, all the fast food eateries and other family restaurants plus bakeries, chemists, dry cleaners, post office, fruit/veg shop and even a Blockbuster. Getting AroundWhat is brilliant about our location is you can practically see the train station from our home! It is about a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive to the station which can whisk you straight to Melbourne for a day out in the city. It will also get you into Geelong central station for a day of shopping and eating at the wonderful restaurants our city offers. There are also several bus stops along Marshalltown Rd which is close by and will take you into Geelong Central.

      The SpaceThe house is a a gracious 60's style dwelling with the two main bedrooms downstairs together with family room, kitchen, main bathroom, laundry & toilet. The outdoor entertainment & BBQ area is accessed at the rear with a pleasant grassed area and security parking for two medium sized cars. Upstairs has a very large lounge, two bedrooms, bathroom and toilet. Guest AccessAll of House and garden. There is a large dog bed available for fido under the entertainment area roof for any well behaved pet. (Pls make sure your pet stays in this area whilst at home) Interaction with GuestsOn most occasions we will be there to welcome you upon arrival. If we can't, key access will be arranged. The NeighborhoodApart from the excellent shopping centres 5 minutes away. refer to "getting around" High Street shopping centre, Waurn Ponds Shopping centre 5min, Geelong City 14 min. The area boasts many excellent wineries, restaurants and specialty brewers such as Little Creatures and of course our favorite coffee shops. This includes Two Wrens on Torquay Rd and Bomboras on the beach at Torquay. The Geelong waterfront with it's many Restaurants and Bars is about ten minutes away by car or catch the bus outside our door. Getting Around5 minutes to the lovely High Street shopping centre. Bus stops at our front door which will take you to High Street, the Waurn Ponds Shopping centre Geelong or the famous Torquay beaches. The Marshalltown Railway station is also 5 minutes away for rail commute to Melbourne or other. Many bike paths close by including the famous Barwon river area tracks Other Things to NoteSplendid golf courses including Queens Park, Highton, Torquay, 13th Beach etc. The Belmont shopping centre is 4 minutes drive from here offering most things you might look for; also Geelong central shopping is only 12 minutes drive with the beautiful Geelong waterfront nearby. Two hour parking for just one dollar. For the treasure hunter, there is also Kerleys auction rooms 10am to 4.30 on Tuesdays.(lots of fun)
