The NeighborhoodIt is quiet and surrounded by bush with easy access to local transport, shops and the train to the city. 3 restaurants are 10 minutes walk away. It feels like you are out in the country when you sit on the patio for breakfast yet we are only 25 minutes drive to the CBD. Getting Around10 minutes walk takes you to the bus stop and on to the train station which is then 30 minutes ride to the center of Sydney. Parking is easy on the street. The train gets you to the Airport in 45 minutes.We can often drop or pick up guests at Gordon train station. Other Things to NoteThere are lovely bush walks and easy access to the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower gardens. The bus can take you north to Palm Beach and all the stunning northern beaches in between. Over 200km's of off-road walking/cycling tracks too. We provide breakfast cereal/muesli and home made bread/toast as part of your stay.

We also have 2 friendly dogs and looking to rent out a room from time to time. Spacious indoor and outdoor living area, BBQ area and large kitchen.

      The SpaceLarge family federation style house consisting of 4 bedrooms with 1 large spa bathroom, a downstairs shower room and the master bedroom with a walk-in ensuite. A stunning new kitchen has been fitted mid 2015 with stone benchtops, a breakfast bar and a large family fridge (L4 grande Mitsibushi). Slate and blackbutt hardwood flooring throughout. Sit on the deck upstairs to relax and appreciate the endless views over Garigal National Park or enjoy the large grass backyard with the Springfree trampoline for the kids. The surrounding area is fantastic for bush walks or mountain biking and your only disturbance at night will be the swamp wallabies who come to visit in the front garden! The house sits on a 700m2 plot and is 2-level, so plenty of space for everyone! Outside you can either have a comfy seats in the sofa lounges or have dinner at the family outdoor table with benches. A BBQ is available for use also. The master bedroom has a walk-in ensuite and TV. The living room has it’s own TV with Apple TV and Telstra box. You will have access to all the rooms in the house with the exception of the walk-in wardrobe and garage which we use to lock up our personal stuff. Parking is available at either the front of the house or on the driveway. The house is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac however I have to mention that the lead up to Xmas and xmas itself is a little busier due to the famous Davidson Christmas light display and we are literally around the corner from the Cambage Court light display. Bus stop is less than 5 minutes walk away. There is a Woolworths +- 1.5km from the house and Frenchs Forest way Shopping centre is close by also. If you enjoy peace, quiet and/or lots of walks, this is the place to come! The city is only approx. 25min away if you’d like to engage in the hussle and bussle; beaches (Manly/Dee Why etc) are a mere 15min drive. Lots of bushwalks from the house without needing to get in the car. The house consists of: Upstairs - Master bedroom with king bed and ensuite - 2 single bedrooms, 1 of the single beds has a trundle - 1 queen bed - it's set up as a single bed but the trundle can be put up and convert the bed to a queen (with 2 single mattresses/beds next to each other so not a full queen bed) - 1 main bathroom with spa bath tub Downstairs: - large playroom kids with table - newly renovated kitchen with open plan dining & Bosh dishwasher - laundry with Miele washing machine and Miele dryer - downstairs toilet and shower (very handy for when coming from the beach to jump straight in a shower downstairs!) - living room/tv room Outdoor: - dining table with seating for up to 6-8 people - large covered area with outdoor sofa seating under a shade sail - fully fenced backyard - Springfree trampoline - pool 7 x 4m (completed by December 2016 at which point pictures will be up dated) The house is large and spacious and very suited to families. Wonderful walks start right opposite the front door such as for example a beautiful walk to The Cascades. Frenchs forest/Davidson is very peaceful, residential and quiet. Your closest amenities such as a Woolworths is only 1.5km's away. Manly/Dee Why are a 15-20 min drive away or 35min with the bus approx. Sydney CBD is approx 18km away so around 25min drive. Explore Sydney or a different beach every day. Worth while day trips are Taronga Zoo, The Basin, a little boat trip to Ettalong or Palm Beach. Getting AroundThere is a bus service which stops just a few yards from the house. A car is not essential but the best way to go. Other Things to NoteWe supply the following items: - pillows, quilts and blankets. All of the beds and pillows have Protect-a-bed mattress/pillow protectors on them; - tea towels; - 1x high-chair; You will need to bring: - towels including bathmats; - linen including sheets & pillowcases. Our house has a nice backyard, friendly people in our community and we are 2 minute walk to buses, shopping centres, and just minutes away from parks and beaches. I have 2 beautiful daughters aged 14 and 5 years old. We love to listen to music, watch tv, movies laugh have fun. We love to spend our free time outdoors (e.g. beach, barbeques, picnics, friends).

Some of Sydney's most beautiful beaches are within 15-20 minutes drive (Manly, Freshwater, Dee Why, Curl Curl) and the city centre can be reached within 30 minutes by car or bus (or drive to Manly and catch a ferry). There is a shopping centre with 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes drive and you can catch buses to Chatswood, Warringah Mall and the centre of Sydney city. On Sunday mornings there is a lovely organic farmers' market within a couple of minutes drive of the house.         The SpaceWell equipped, private, large and comfortable four room, brick-built apartment within a tranquil and leafy suburb, just 25 minutes drive to either city or beaches. (Sydney Airport 45 minutes). Separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining area, lounge and decking. Shared use of swimming pool, garden and washing lines. A variety of fresh herbs and chili peppers are also seasonally available for your cooking enjoyment, their growth helped along by our hive of native stingless bees. Bathroom includes washing machine and cupboard housing ironing board, iron and cleaning materials. Shower gel, soap, air freshener, toilet roll, first aid kit and towels are provided. Kitchen is well stocked with microwave, 4 ring ceramic hob, enormous fridge-freezer, toaster, fire extinguisher, fire blanket, pots and pans, utensils, cutlery/crockery, bread maker and basic essentials. A circular table, which seats four, is found in the separate dining area. The large sofa bed in the lounge converts to a comfortable double bed offering 2 further sleeping spaces (with extra bed linen). Air conditioning and Ventis home ventilation (also filters allergens) have both been fitted for your general comfort, whatever the weather. A selection of DVDs, books & games have been provided, along with a basket containing local information including bus timetables. The covered decking has a table and chairs and creates the perfect spot to watch the sun rise or to enjoy an evening drink amongst the bird-song by the solar heated pool. Be sure to look out for brush turkeys and rabbits. We have even seen an echidna and a wallaby in the garden during daylight hours! 2 minute flat walk to bus stop (routes to city or beaches). 6 minute flat walk to supermarket, chemist, restaurants, cafe. Australian, multimedia, pay-as-you-go mobile phone available for loan (with $100 refundable deposit. Please purchase your own SD card if you would like to take photographs or save anything to memory). Off street parking available. The bush can be accessed from our road and a whole variety of tracks surround the area. Spend a day adventuring and discover the hidden creeks, flora and fauna. Alternatively, hop onto public transport and enjoy time in the city, at the beach, or further afield. Art galleries, restaurants, the interesting cobbled back streets of The Rocks, Palm Beach where Home and Away is filmed......there really is so much to see and do here! Guest AccessSituated beside our home, this apartment is separate, private and detached from our house enjoying it's own private entrances. It is necessary to walk past our house and pool to reach the flat up just 4 steps to the decking. When you arrive, just knock on the door of the main house and we'll show you to your accommodation. The NeighborhoodOur neighbourhood is very friendly place to be and the Plaza (just 6 minutes walk away) adds to create that warm community feel which we all enjoy. There is currently a supermarket, chemist, Italian and Goan restaurants, a cafe, physiotherapists, vets, newsagents, bakers and a steak house! :) Many more shops and restaurants can be found just a 5 minute drive away (25 minute walk) at St Ives Shopping Village. Across the road from the Plaza is Hassell Park. If you like to keep fit or enjoy watching rugby or cricket, this is a very good and green place to do it. If you have young children with you, there is also a small park attached. Just a short walk to the end of our road, or along to the Wildflower Gardens, you can immerse yourself in a whole new bushland experience where there are walking tracks for every level of fitness, including paved tracks suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Getting AroundPublic transport is found just a 2 minute flat walk away. Buses travel either to the beaches (journey takes around 30 minutes) or to Gordon Station (journey takes around 10/15 minutes) to catch a train to the city or elsewhere. To travel, first collect an Opal card from a local newsagents. The Opal card is a free smartcard ticket that you load value onto and keep for travel on all public transport in Sydney, and the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hunter, Illawarra and Southern Highlands. When you tap on at an Opal card reader to start your journey, and tap off* at the end of your journey, the system will automatically calculate your fare and deduct it from the value stored on your Opal card. Never pay more than $15 a day! Travel all day on trains, buses, ferries and light rail and pay no more than $15 per day for adults and $7.50 a day for children.* Never pay more than $60 a week! Buses 196/197 travel along Mona Vale Road to Kitchener Street. (There is also a 197 which goes to Maquarie, so be careful to get in the correct bus.) Uber and taxis are also readily available in the area. Other Things to NoteA $100 refundable deposit is required for use of the pay-as-you-go mobile phone.         The SpaceI have proudly an energy saving house. It is insulated and well-ventilated, so requires very little heating or cooling, only in peak winter or summer. The house is free of draught and is cosy and comfortable in all weather conditions. The house has reverse-cycle air-conditioning ie. central heating & cooling. Generally, natural temperature is enjoyed in the house, windows opened during the day to refresh the house, weather related. Other Things to NoteFor overseas guests who are travelling to Sydney for the first time...Sydney is a spreadout and huge. We are used to it, but some people who are used to more compact cities, may find that a bit daunting at first.

        The SpaceThe room is clean, comfy and opens out onto a private courtyard. Our home is spacious but cosy. We live in a very family friendly neighborhood, close to shops, cafes, parks and buses. The house is next to a road, so you can hear some traffic. Guest AccessThe room has its own access. Also our guests are very welcome to use the pool and there is parking available if needed. Interaction with GuestsWe love meeting new people and are always very excited to share our knowledge of the area, and help out in any way we can. We are pretty relaxed and really enjoy chatting to our guests and hearing about their travel experiences. Getting AroundThe bus stop is right outside the house, however there is parking available for those that have a car.
