The SpaceThis cozy house is located a 5 minute walk to Crotched Mountain ski area with great hiking on off season. There is a full kitchen and living room area as well as half bath with laundry and one bedroom on first floor. The second floor includes one bedroom with two sets of twin bunkbeds, a full bath and a second bedroom with a single bed. There is a small screened in porch on the back of house which is very private and peaceful. On the front of the house is a large deck with acess to livingroom, kitchen and bedroom. The house includes washer, dryer and Gas Grill as well as all clean linens. Very kid friendly with family Movies, Board games, puzzles and lincoln logs. There are many things to do in the area which include Mount Monadnock (claimed to be the 2nd most climbed Mtn. in the world), golf, dining, horse back riding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, shopping ect. Two areas I would recommend looking at online is downtown Peterborough and downtown Keene. Peterborough is a very quaint town with places like The Peterborough Players Theater, Antique shops, Fine dining as well as Organic dining and Organic grocery store. There is an old fashioned movie theater and plenty of Arts. A local favorite is Harlow's Pub for drinks, food and music. The town of Keene is a favorite with a downtown full of small shops and restaurants where you can park and walk and enjoy indoor and outdoor dining along the way. Also lots of department store shopping. Keene is well known for its Pumpkin Festival in the fall which displays thousands of lit pumpkins. There are lots of fairs and festivals throughout the different seasons. Such as the Hot Air Balloon Festival in nearby Hillsboro in July, The Cheshire Fair in August and The Spring Carnival right here at Crotched Mountain, just to name a few. Also available is the use of three kayaks on beautiful Lake Monomonac which is a 35 minute drive away. There are many things to do in the area so please ask any questions about what you and your family may be looking to do. If you are looking for a place to just relax, you will enjoy a nice breeze through the house in summer and a beautiful sunset from the living room. We welcome any questions and will get into more detail with any of your questions. Upon your arrival we will have avaiable maps and brochures on area attractions as well as hiking info and some area trail guides.

We come and go quite freely , yet I am most accessible, and open to your needs. The NeighborhoodWe live just up the hill from the village of Hancock. There is a small country store (The Hancock Market ) and a restaurant (Fiddleheads ) and the oldest, continuously operating INN in the USA ( The Hancock Inn) The Inn serves typical New England fare and is worth an evening out, or Sunday Brunch. Norway Pond is the Town Beach. Great for families as there is a lifeguard on duty during the Summer. Easy walk from my house. On Summer Thursday evenings we have concerts at the Bandstand on the Town Commons Saturdays there is a Farmers' Market in the stalls behind the Church. Don't miss the Library ! Community Functions happen there regularly, and we have The Best Librarian ! We also boast a Nature conserve, The Harris Center, that has numerous hiking trails, and educational workshops and talks. Just up the hill from me is the Apple Orchard, with beautiful views of Mt. Monadnock, for which our region is famous. The orchard has "Pick your own" apples in the Autumn. Willard Pond is a great area to see Loons, and to swim, fish,or canoe. Lake Nubanusit is the place to go to refresh on a hot day. Usually a cool breeze and cold waters. a favorite boating and fishing spot both Summer and Winter,This is also the nesting site for a pair of Bald Eagles, so bring your binoculars ! Another spot of interest is the Historical Society which houses artifacts from Hancock's earliest days to the present, a tradition that I believe is peculiar to New England, affectionately called "The Memory House" by local author, Howard Mansfield. Then, don't laugh, I frequently take guests to our Town Dump. This area is well populated with artist, writers and musicians...and you will notice a certain flair to this landmark, and the best price on "Recyclables " ! Don't miss our Neighbors to the South. Peterborough , a whole other story to explore. Getting AroundAn automobile is a necessity in this area. This is a rural setting.
