The SpaceWelcome to the Secret Treehouse - a place where you can live with birds high in the forest tree-tops. The Treehouse has simply stunning views of the deep Bowen's Creek Gorge and rare Blue Mountains rainforest. It is only for couples and not for children Guest AccessThe Tree House is set to impress both new and returning guests. The NeighborhoodLove Cabins offer romantic Blue Mountains getaways for couples. Our uniquely designed, private bush cabins are nestled amongst 600 acres of spectacular world heritage Blue Mountains bushland, nestled between 2x National Parks & World Heritage listed rain-forest. Each cabin gives you the opportunity to come and experience the peace and romance of the our secluded wilderness setting. Other Things to NoteThings to See and Do in the Blue Mountains Wollemi National Park is the largest wilderness area in NSW. Forming part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area - Wollemi offers a maze of canyons, cliffs and undisturbed forest. Truely a natural wonder; all within a one hour drive from Sydney. The Colo River is a highlight of the area; beginning at the junction of the Wolgan and Capertee Rivers, roughly in the middle of Wollemi National Park from east to west. It heads east for a short distance and then south east for some 50km until it flows into the Hawkesbury River near Lower Portland, north of Windsor. The Colo River Gorge is one of the largest in the world other than the Grand Canyon, stretching 30km in length, and around 300m deep for much of that. The area around the river offers some of the wildest country remaining in NSW, and that is one of the big attractions to bushwalkers. While there are a number of fire trails and tracks on the east side of the gorge, the west is almost untouched. However, access is difficult and often requires strenuous climbs and exposed rock scrambling. Star Gazing is another popular pastime, so check the Meteor Shower Guide for the best times to watch. Glow Worm Tunnel in the Blue MountainsThe Glow Worm Tunnel is part of the old railway that serviced the area; access is from Clarence on the Bells Line of Road. Dunns Swamp has easy walks and plenty of opportunities for canoeing. Mountain Biking is a popular attraction. Fire trails off Putty Rd, such as the Culoul Range Trail and the Grassy Hill Trail are well suited to mountain biking. You may see a few cars and 4WDs, but mostly you'll be on your own. If you are looking for decent mountain biking, try fire trails in the Mountain Lagoon area. Take care as many roads in Wollemi Wilderness are unpaved.

THE PROPERTY Surrounded by National Park, the picturesque hamlet of Mountain Lagoon is only an hour and a half from Sydney’s CBD, yet its peaceful rural charm is a world apart from the bustling city life. The SpaceComfortable relaxing cottage set on 90 acres on the slopes of the Wollemi National Park in the heart of the stunning Capertee Valley. Home consists of : - large living / dining room , 3 sofa's around a wood burning stove . Air conditioning unit. - 3 reasonable sized bedrooms 1 queen sized bed with ensuite bathroom , bath / shower , basin and wc 1 double sized bed with ensuite bathroom shower , basin , wc 1 bedroom with 2 x double single bunks - newly fitted out kitchen with electric hotplate , fan oven ,fridge/ freezer microwave and reasonable selection pots , pans and basic necessities - large outside deck area over looking valley (and our small flock of sheep/ alpaca's) All bedrooms and bathrooms have additional heating and the living room fire works well and helps heat the place in the depths of winter. Additional blankets are provided if needed for no additional charge. NB The basic tariiff assumes 2 couples staying for two nights . The basic tariff will be capped at $350per night for a minimum 2 night stay for upto 8 adult guests. The weekly rate is based on four adults . Kids we basically charge $5 per night, teens $15pn .We are happy to quote for other permutations (including one couple only and longer stays ) just drop us a line and we will respond asap. The kitchen has most basics like coffee / tea / sugar / flour . some herbs /spices/ketchup and olive oil but if you turn up and find you left that crucial ingredient at home , your chicken has gone off , or you've run out of wine, then pop round and we will see what we can do to help. Being 30 mins away from the nearest shop means you learn to stock up well. we also have free range eggs (kids welcome to collect them if accaompanied by an adult). The lounge has a TV , DVD player and iPod dock and the bunk room an old plasma tv and dvd player for the kids , but no TV reception or wifi. We are happy to lend DVD's at no charge from our own collection provided they boomerang!. There is no phone or mobile reception at the cottage but if you need to make a call / check emails then there is mobile reception and wifi in the immediate area around our house . The cottage is a really comfortable place to stay and it's hard to describe but everyone that has been here has noted the really relaxing "karma" of the place.. We are pet friendly ( we even have some kennels ) . Guest AccessFreedom of the house and grounds Interaction with GuestsBasically we want you to enjoy yourselves as our guests . If something is not right , tell us so we can trty and put it right. If you need something , want to know something , ask us. We used it as our weekender for 5 years before committing to build our own place elsewhere on the property . Happy to leave you to enjoy your stay by yourselves , or share what we've learned as city folks who have made the move to the country , built a strawbale home and learned about boys toys , livestock and the rest.Based on stocking densities we would be defined as roo and wombat farmers. The NeighborhoodBird watching, mountain bike riding , painting / sketching and bush walking are the obvious ones. Glen Davis has the old shale oil works and if you are feeling energetic you can walk the pipline trail to Newnes in the Wolgan Valley ( ask me if want a lift to the starting point ) and avoid paying the $2000 a night at the Emerates resort, In summer there is a lovely safe spot to chill out in the Capertee River 10 mins from here, or 45 mins away the lovely Dunn's Swamp (which fortunately is nothing like the image the name conjures up). Sandy beaches , deep swimming areas, canoe hire , camping grounds and boat tours. Nearby Rylestone (45 mins) boasts the best dumpling restaurant in NSW ( yep , weird I know , but true) , the world's second best olive oil (missed out by a tiny fraction on the top slot) , a couple of country pubs and the odd collectibles store. Mudgee and Bathurst are both about 75 mins or so . Gulgong (fantastic museum) , Sofala and Hill End are all within a comfortable day trip. OR , you could simply sit out on the deck and enjoy a glass or several of your favourite tipple. Getting AroundWe are 30 mins drive from the nearest bus stop and garage so you need to have a car to get , or arrange a pick up with us if happy to just chill on the property. Other Things to NoteThe basic rate we have quoted here is based on 4 adults staying for 2 nights inclusive of all linen and towels. This is the minimum booking. The weekly rate is also based on 4 adults. All linen and towels provided.Kids charged at $5pn , teens $15pn. additional adults $60pn Will cap the overall rate max rate per day at $350 for uptp 8 adults . The capped weekly rate $1200 for 4 adults. Ask us about other permutations and one couple only special Our place is nice and cosy , but the Wolgan resort it isn't. But neither is our tariff. We are in the country , so there are critters and crawlies , bugs n more round about. Some intent on biting you , some annoying you , but mostly just doing their thing . And there is not much we can do to stop them. We are on rain water. No chlorine , fluoride or anything else added. But it's our only source of water so please be water wise . That means if you hum in the shower think Beatles rather than Beethoven. We will try and be inconspicious for most of your stay , but are on hand if you want to ask us something. Please , no smoking inside the house. We have not added a cleaning charge to the bill but thats because we expect you to pretty much leave it as you found it . If we have to wash up your sunday roast and the place looks like the aftermath of a bucks party then we reseve the right to charge for breakages and additional cleaning.
