From the massive floor to ceiling field stone rock chimney with a gas log that gives the bedroom a romantic glow, to the beautiful views that surround this property, you will feel relaxed and refreshed.
There is a 1/2 acre private pond in the backyard that is stocked with numerous Bluegills. Watch the pond and be mesmerized watching the gentle waves lapping at the shoreline.
Enjoy observing our resident horses and calf grazing nearby in the green pastures. (Our horses love visitors, especially ones who come bearing apples and carrots)! You may also see some turkey or deer as they meander through the fields towards the nearby woods. Finding a place in a rural area that offers high speed unlimited WIFI is sometimes difficult, but we have it. The cottage has a flat screen television with Dish service, plus local Lexington channels. Also included are all four Epix movie channels. Don't like what is on the networks? No problem, the cottage has a DVD player, so make sure you bring your favorite movies along with you. The kitchen is large and spacious, has a table which seats four. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, full size stove, and a microwave. All of your basics are furnished, plus more, such as a coffee brewer, toaster, electric mixer, George Foreman grill, and numerous kitchen gadgets. An ample supply of dishes, pots and pans, plus dishtowels, paper towels, dish soap and dishcloths are provided. A charcoal grill is available for your use.
The bedroom area has a very comfortable queen size bed with a Serta brand memory foam mattress. You are in for a real treat if you have never slept on a foam mattress....it conforms to every body type. Extra pillows, blankets and sheets are provided. The living room area has a sleeper sofa plus a Lazy Boy rocker/recliner. The bath has a standard tub/shower combo.
This cottage is owner maintained and cleaned, and is immaculate.
If you own a 4 wheeler, you will want to bring it along with you and check out the nearby Wildcat Adventures Offroad park. It offers 1,600 acres of terrain and plenty of off-road trails for your riding enjoyment. . The park is only a mere 5 min. away from the cottage: very convenient!
We allow pets if they are well behaved and house trained. There is a pet fee of $10.00 a day, per pet with a limit of two. If you bring your pet and are planning on leaving it unattended for a period of time in the cottage, the animal will have to be left in a crate while you are gone. Please mention your pet when inquiring about booking the cottage.
Renfro Valley Entertainment center is only a short distance away. In nearby Mount Vernon, you can rent canoes or kayaks to paddle 6.4 miles down the Rockcastle River. You will also find horseback riding in Mount Vernon during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months.
One night stays are limited to Sunday through Thursday nights. Friday and Saturday night check in requires a min. two night stay.
There is a $40.00 cleaning fee with each reservation. Pets are allowed, there is an additional charge for them. $25.00 per animal up to two nights. After two nights, $10.00 per night per animal. Limit of two. They must be secured in a crate at all times when left alone in the cottage unsupervised. All pets must be housebroken with no bad habits.
We are located 3 miles off I-75. (Exit 49) We are 10 miles north of London,KY, London is where the World Famous Chicken Festival, (September) is held. London also has a classic car show, "Crusin' On Main", held each third Saturday of the month from May - September. plus many other activities that are too numerous to list here. Corbin, KY, home of the very first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, is 15 miles south. Renfro Valley Country Entertainment Center is located 10 miles north, Cumberland Falls State Park, also called the Niagara Falls of the South is a one hour drive away. Wildcat Adventures, Off Road park, which has 70 miles of trails, is located only 3 miles away from the cottage.
