The "Hide-Out Cottage" is a cosy wooden holiday house, located in the less touristic area in the South of Dominica, ideal for nature-lovers, hikers, adventurers and families!
The " Hide-Out Cottage" which is fully run by solar power, is surrounded by tropical nature, various fruit trees, tropical plants and flowers, many different species of birds and is near the Geneva River, providing a peaceful and relaxing environment. The cottage is a few minutes walk away from the village of GrandBay and the Atlantic coast.
The Hide-Out Cottage houses 2-4 (6 is possible!) persons, with two single beds and a kitchen downstairs and a double bed and bathroom upstairs.
The upstairs windows offer a panoramic view on the river and the Southern Volcanic Mountains.
The Hide-Out Cottage is owned by a Swiss-Dominican Rastafarian family and offers a relaxing stay in nature, exciting and breath-taking tours, as well as interesting aspects of Dominica's culture, flora and fauna.
The hostess speaks English, German and French and offers also vegetarian, Caribbean style breakfats and meals, as well as taxi services from and to the airport or ferry terminal.
In addition you can get guided tours and hikes with a certified, very experienced tour guide. You might want to see the second largest Boiling Lake in the world, or some of those fascinating waterfalls, bathe in hot water sulphur pools, enjoy the rainforest, hike on the Wai'tukubuli Nature Trail, go snorkeling or kayaking, enjoy a romantic boat ride on the Caribbean Sea with sunset and surprise....or so much more!
At the "Hide-Out Cottage" you will get to know the names and uses of many exotic plants and herbs, discover the taste of tropical fruits and learn the process of making local cocoa-tea, roast cashew nuts, create your own bowl from a calabash, do bird watchin and afterwards take refreshing bath in the river.
Visitors may choose single nights stays or take advantage of stays of longer periods of time,having the option to create a package, which can include all offers in addition to accomodation.Just get your wishes to us!
At the "Hide-out" we contribute to environmental conservation through the use of solar energy and a wind turbine. As Rastafarians we want to protect the earth and live healthy, so we do Organic Farming and Eco Tourism. Enjoy and respect nature at it’s best!
