The SpaceWe are a perfect location for day trips, right by 495, 62 and 117. Within an hour of all the best Massachusetts history and only an hour from New Hampshire Mountains, 20 minutes to ski slopes. Concord and the Freedom Trail are 35 minutes from us. Lexington and the Minute Man statue 40ish minutes, Harvard and The Fruit lands Museum only 6 minutes away. 45 minutes to Boston and all it holds including history, and museums. 15 minutes to Worcester. Easy hour and 10 minute commute to coastal villages and beaches of the North Shore. Cape Cod is about an hour and a half drive. Our home is shared with 2 friendly dogs. Expect doggy behavior. Keeping the door of your room closed is the best method to keep them out of your space. Coffee and morning eats get put out at 8:30 am. The Foxglove Room is cozy, and rustic. It offers a queen bed, forest views, and air conditioning in summer. House and grounds are beautiful. Fire pit, secrets in the woods, gardens full of fresh organic vegies. Watch the stars at Stargazer's landing. Enjoy the patio and herb garden, or have some berries. Swing on the old country swing. Look for fairies, or catch some fire flies that haunt the edge of the woods. Wildflower Farm, is a haven for those just passing through, or for those looking for something a bit more deep and meaningful. Escape from the city or simply from quotidian life. A great place to celebrate, or have an intimate moment with your loved one/s. A place to run to in times of trouble. A place to express yourself and find inspiration. This is a very magical place. Guest AccessPretty much the whole house, except for long term boarder's bedroom and host's bedroom. The farm yard in full is also accessible and usable for guests. WIFI in your room, TV in the living room with cable it is possible too to tape programs. Wood stove in public spaces in the winter, air conditioning in your room when it's hot. Organic vegetable garden, herb garden, a variety of berries, fresh eggs duck and chicken in the chicken coop or duck house for guest enjoyment at no extra cost, totally free to use. Small fire pit free to use. Romantic old country swing by the Strawberry Patch easily accessable. Telescope available for star gazing outside at Stargazer's Landing. Interaction with GuestsWe answer questions, we are friendly. Level of interaction is up to guests. The NeighborhoodBerlin is a town of small rolling hills, forests, fields, and beautiful autumn foliage. This little town is known for it's apple orchards, though saying it is known at all is bordering on a stretch. The quietness and culture that comes with being off the beaten path are this town's most special gifts. Visit Balance Rock Farm it's excellent, Find great bacon, local honey. Or pick your own berries, over at Indian Head Farm. Both of these farms have been family owned and run for generations. Berlin Farms is a wonderful country store with a lovely section for Christmas ornaments. It also offers really good ice cream. Berlin Orchard, apple picking in the autumn! Other noteworthy places: Lowe's Berlin General Store for fabulous sandwiches and really nice coffee. The Flat Penny a mile down the road offers good eats and a bar. The Silver Buffalo Gallery is fun to visit, with all sorts of native crafts, jewelry, and art. Berlin Country Club for golf. There are several local farms that offer horse back riding. 19 Carter Street, is a community center. There's a kitchen with coffee, some munchies, and wifi. The local community's hang out hub. Go antiquing at Counting Sheep Antiques. Getting AroundA car is necessary for getting around in this area. Though unusual, during the winter we do occasionally get snowed in. Be ready if staying during the winter months to hunker down on the farm and forego all travel for a day or so. Wrap up in a blanket and play board games by the fire with a cup of hot spiced cider and enjoy the cold in proper New England style. Other Things to NoteAs they say about this region, "You don't like the weather? Wait a minute..." MA, is a coastal state. The weather can change suddenly. It is a good idea to keep up with it. The bathroom is shared with 1 other person and is professionally cleaned regularly and is well up kept daily for everyone's comfort. This house was built the old way. It behaves the same way as a nearly 300 year old farmhouse and has typical old house issues.

The SpacePrivate room in a charming New England-style 'Cape Cod', modern residence on a quiet cul-de-sac tucked in behind and above route 20 near downtown Northborough and only moments away from major MA highways including routes 495, Mass Pike (90), highway 290, route 9 and 20. Rental is a private bedroom with separate bath/shower, toilet and sink and free parking for one car. The room is equipped with a queen-sized bed, desk and closet. WiFi included. Steps away from Rte 20 and a Dunkin' Donuts, four miles from the Northborough Town Center Mall (Starbucks, Wegman's, BJ's, Dick's and dozens of other fine shops). We are also about ten miles from the Worcester (pronounced 'whu-ster') city center, Clark University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, College of the Holy Cross and Assumption College. Our house is only four miles from the Westborough stop on the Worcester Commuter Rail Line (parking is $4/day) putting visitors an hour from Boston's famous South Station and the sights and activities available in downtown Boston. Providence, RI is only forty minutes away by car. Our home is very private and centrally located, only minutes from the sights and sounds of urban Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It offers a comfortable respite from busy lives and busy days. NEW IN FALL 2016: for guests requiring another bedroom or two, but are willing to share the bathroom, we can present a SPECIAL OFFER for a queen-sized bed in another room, and or a sturdy bunk bed in a third, separate room. Each of the extra rooms is $39/night and only available when booking the guest room. Ask about our 'Special offer' to learn more. Guest AccessGuests stay in a private bedroom and a nearby recently remodeled, four-piece private bathroom. Kitchen, dining, downstairs bathroom, deck, gardens, patio and living room are shared. Garage, basement, office, piano room and other bedrooms are off limits. Interaction with GuestsWe are respectful of our guests' privacy but are readily available to answer questions about the area, car repair, local attractions and US social practices and customs. We welcome international guests, those with young children or those with special needs. As guests come and go, we appreciate knowing their return plans and like to welcome them back (if we are around). Likewise, we let them know our plans as it pertains to comings and goings and home security. The NeighborhoodOne of the best features of living in Northborough is New England's largest Wegman's store. The first in MA, and the largest grocery store in the state, my husband says that this grocery store is 'the kind of grocery store that Walt Disney would have built if he wanted to be in the grocery business.' We are only a few miles from fast food outlets including Dunkin'Donuts (walking distance), Chick-fil-A, three McDonald's, Starbucks, Wendy's, BurgerKing, iHop, Qboda and Subway. Nearby sit-down restaurants include Bertucci's (fast fact: worldwide headquarters is in Northborough), Tavern-in-the-Square, Wegman's grocery with buffet, Romaine's, CJ's Steakhouse and many others. On the west-end of town, the Northborough Crossing outdoor mall includes BJs, Michaels, Dick's Sporting Goods, Goldsmith and many other national retailers. At the north end, the classic Solomon Pond Mall boasts an Apple store, Regal theatre, Sears and Macy's. Getting AroundNorthborough public transit is designed to move commuters in the mornings to Boston, and return during the evenings. The Westborough commuter rail station (MBTA's Worcester/Framingham line) is four miles away. Uber drivers are only a tap away. Parking is normally available on the property or on our cul-de-sac. The best way to get here from Logan International airport is to rent a car, drive the Mass Pike (route 90) west, get off at exit 12 (Framingham) and drive west on route 9. At route 135 (exit on the right) drive north to intersect with route 20 at the Northborough town center. Depending on weather and traffic conditions, this could take as little as 40 minutes. The last mile location details are available only to reserved guests.

Wildflower Farm is a 5 acre homestead by the forest, with barn yard animals and 2 farm dogs. Come smell the apple blossoms from the local orchards and see the foliage in the autumn. Skiing, winery, hiking, and history nearby. Comfortable and welcoming in all seasons. Thank you for your interest in our home, please contact us prior to booking. We look forward to your visit. We share our property with a gaggle of chickens and 2 goats. We share our home with 2 friendly dogs. Expect joyful greetings when you come in, lots of tail wagging, and other doggie behavior. If you do not want them in your room, feel free to shut the door and keep them out. $30 a night for guest number 3 to sleep in own private room with single bed. Great for children or third traveling companion. Tourism: Not far from here, men like Emerson, Alcott and Longfellow, built a Transcendentalist community, for the Boston Brahmin. Fruit lands, The very place that Louisa May Alcott wrote about in her book, Little Women, is a short drive from here. The historical first frontier is in the next town over. Before there was a western frontier there was Lancaster. There are also many universities within an hour of here, a medical center in Worcester and a Russian art museum. Historical Harvard, and Bolton are down the street. Historical Lexington with it's Minute Man Statue and the history of Concord, are about 35-45 minutes from here by car. Boston is a day trip, see the Gardner Museum, The Boston Aquarium or the Boston Museum of Science. Go to Cambridge, walk through Harvard Square and visit Harvard University. Boston and Cambridge have so much to offer. Highway 495 is easy to get to and close by, it will take you everywhere. Routes 2 and 62 are also right here. Go to the east for big cities and history. Go to the west to see the mountains. Cape Cod is a weekend trip.Other coastal areas such as Rockport, Newburyport and Plum Island are a day trip. If you wish to stay closer to your room, see the Fruit Lands Museum, go hiking, or biking out in nature, take a walk in our woods, visit the goats and chickens, skiing and golfing are near by, you can even go horse back riding right near by as there are several horse farms. Check out Nashoba Winery, or just take a drive through the MA country side. Pick your own apples down the street at Berlin Orchard! There is plenty to do right here. Local Food And Coffee: We like the restaurant at Nashoba Winery. Or for a more family style meal go into Hudson to The Horseshoe Pub, which also offers a bar for drinks. If you want to stay closer to your room, we recommend the local watering hole, The Flat Penny, just down the road about a mile. It is pretty good and Thursdays are trivia night. The Flat Penny too boasts a bar. For coffee, we like our own coffee maker or Harvest Cafe in Hudson. Shopping: For antiques we recommend our friends over at Counting Sheep Antiques, or Oh My Gosh Antiques in Sterling. There is also a mall with quite a few standard shops and a movie theater just up the road. For groceries we recommend Indian Head Farm for local produce, Market Basket, or any number of the other wonderful local farms in the area. Guest Interaction: We will be available to answer your questions as we will be renting you a room/s in our home. Getting Around: There is no public transportation, a car is necessary, you will need one that has 4 wheel drive in the winter. We apologize, due to our schedule we can not pick you up or drop you off. The Neighborhood: This area is apple country and has some of the most beautiful autumn foliage in New England. Small rolling hills, pastures, orchards and woods make up the terrain. We see all sorts of wild animals from deer and foxes to the rare bear sighting in the area. Lots of small farms lie along the small country roads. The neighborhood lies along the less traveled back roads of historical New England. Right by the important major highways. Lots of country quiet and glow bugs out here.
