Our largest guest room features a queen-sized sleigh bed surrounded by antiques and memoirs of Wayne County. The large windows make this room bright and cheery, with the southern view overlooking the formal gardens and small fishpond. An early riser is treated to spectacular sunrises over the Honesdale valley below. The dĂŠcor in this room is accented with rose and burgundy and bits and pieces of Wayne County heritage. A day bed offers room for an additional traveler or cozy sitting area to read or relax. The Wayne room has a private bath with walk-in shower. Wake to a full hot breakfast in the morning, provided in the dining room, before your activity for the day, whether that is exploring the rural Wayne County, attending a social event, or just enjoying a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy our gardens outside, or grab a good book and curl up in one of two cozy sitting rooms. Games, books, puzzles or movies are available for your enjoyment. Your hosts will be happy to point you in the right direction for dining, or renting canoes, bikes, skis, or snowshoes.

The James Manning House is located 2 miles north of the town of Honesdale, in the northern end of the Pocono Mountains. The historic village of Bethany is much like a New England village with a common green across the street from the house. We offer quiet comfortable lodging along the scenic Route 6 byway.
Outdoor activities abound with fishing lakes, the Delaware River, and state parks a short distance from your stay. The nearest airport, Scranton-Avoca is 45 minutes and a car or taxi is necessary to arrive. There is no public transportation available and restaurant food must be picked up as there is no delivery services. We offer off-street parking.
