The SpaceThis spacious apartment is perfect for family activities. There is plenty of room to stash your bike, cook a great meal, park your car- you can walk to some of the best restaurants on the north shore or to the train depot less than five minutes from the door and head to Boston, or take your bike Newburyport or Cape Ann. This first floor, three bedroom apartment (1 queen, 1 full, 1 twin) has everything you need for a great stay. Fully furnished, large kitchen, cable, wifi, washer and dryer in basement- off street parking. Not fancy but with everything you need. Just off downtown Beverly on a quiet side street, walk to restaurants, beaches, museums, funky coffee shops and galleries and just a stones throw to Salem. With all the events happening around the north shore and Salem area- it's almost impossible to find an affordable room let alone a place for a family! Once you check out the north of Boston and our "Gold Coast" you will be enchanted! History, art, music, maritime activities, beaches, boats, architecture, ethnic foods from Italian to Indian, Thai, Mexican and more, Unbelievably delicious seafood! Great hiking areas to walk it all off! We are also becoming quite a bicycle hub. My place will be an excellent home port for your stay! College parents love this place. Endicott, Gordon, Montserratt, Merrimac, Salem State and Landmark school too. They like it because the kids can stay with them if they want. You can have a family dinner. You also can have some space. Please consider staying here- you'll love it. I have received five star reviews and I like five star guests! The NeighborhoodWalking distance to everything. A quiet neighborhood near a downtown area with great food, music and activities. Walk to the waterfront and beaches, library, town green even venture over the bridge to Salem! Getting AroundThere is off street parking for two cars, five minute walk to commuter rail. A commuter bus at the end of the street. So you could stay without a car. There is also an enterprise car rental - much cheaper than the airport- I advise people to take a cab or T to get here and then rent from Enterprise. There is also a zip car station not far from here. And plenty of room for your bike. Other Things to NoteNo smoking and No large dogs

The SpaceThis place is a second floor 3 bedroom apartment just off of downtown. it offers plenty of room for family to visit and for people to have their own space. Walking distance to train, great restaurants and a happening downtown with a lot to do. It is located just about a mile from Salem and all that it offers. Fully furnished with off street parking for two cars, coin op. washer and dryer in basement, hardwood floors, dishwasher. Beverly is a fun foodie town with a lot of interesting restaurants, coffee shops, etc. from Italian to Indian, Thai and more all within a walk of the apartment. The train depot is just down the street- go to Boston or Salem or travel north to Gloucester, Rockport or Newburyport. We can clue you into some great spots off the beaten path. Whatever your interest, you will find something here, art, architecture, boats, beaches, history and more. (did I mention food?) We are always willing to offer suggestions and tips to help you have a wonderful stay. I'm very proud of my reviews! One thing we try not to do though is get in your way. We have made friends with some guests and others prefer to be left alone. I am always available if there is a problem but don't want to get in the way. The NeighborhoodLocation, location, location. Walk everywhere, access to public T, Close to the water. There is a rich and interesting food scene downtown. A theater, bowling, gyms, library - plenty to do. Getting AroundCommuter rail is just down the hill. Shuttle bus stops at the end of the street. Car rental agency just a few steps from the train. Other Things to NoteBeverly is a diverse and interesting town. It doesn't have the touristy stuff that you find in Salem but is close enough so you can enjoy it but get away from the hubbub.. In my guest book people always tell me how much they like it.

The SpaceNow about my barn: In Beverly's historic district just steps from Salem bridge. The "Barn by the harbor" is just up the hill from Beverly harbor. A renovated and beautifully decorated attached barn with water views, french doors onto private patio, full kitchen and sitting area on fl 1. Sunny and bright 2nd floor bedroom with a new queen sized bed, TV and full bath. Walk to trains taking you to Boston, Cape Ann, Newburyport, Salem. Walk to beaches, downtown,great restaurants or walk to the lobster pound and create your own clambake (we supply the equipment and instructions) - you can stay here without a car. The barn is attached to an old house (1720) that we've been renovating for a long time. Enjoy all of Salem activities without the hassle! But there is so much more to the area! We can help with anything you may need. We have received five star reviews from guests. The entire North Shore of Massachusetts is a gem. Known for years as the Gold Coast, this area from Cape Ann to Boston boasts glorious coast line, architecture, art- from galleries to world class museums, whale watching, schooner trips, booze cruises and some of the best food ever! The beaches are outstanding - from what we call the pocket beach on the harbor (just down the street) to Gloucester's fabulous Wingarsheek ( we can tell you a backway to get there with outstanding vistas) And there is something fun at every time of year! The NeighborhoodThe area is funky with a lot of history. It is also a working neighborhood with friendly people. It is walking distance to downtown Beverly, the waterfront and Salem as well as the train depot. It's easy to live and do things without a car. If you need one there is an enterprise car rental that is much cheaper than the airport. I advise people to grab a cab from the airport and rent from enterprise. We are also near a zip car station. The music scene right here in Beverly is really amazing and growing. There is a renown jazz room (Chianti), two concert venues within walking distance, a world class theater in the round (north shore music theater) and live performance going on all over the north shore. Getting AroundThere is a bus at the end of the street and we are a ten minute walk to the train depot. Other Things to NoteThis is a great place for artists. Plenty of vistas for painting. If you are a kayaker you can bring your kayak and drop in just down the street. Cyclists will love the growing cycle culture on the north shore. Sailors have access to tons of boating options. If you are traveling by boat, we are just a short walk from the harbor- you can stay without a car. Musicians will go crazy for the music and performance scene!

The SpaceThe apartment comfortably accommodates two people and consists of a nicely equipped kitchen, a good sized bedroom with a queen sized bed and a recently renovated bathroom with a heated floor. There is also an IKEA futon chair that opens out to a single futon bed if you don't want to share the bed. All bed linens and towels are provided as well as all cooking and eating utensils. There is a flat screen TV with cable and also WiFi access. One parking space available. Guest AccessThe apartment has it's own private entrance. Guests are welcomed to sit out or enjoy a meal in the yard overlooking the water. Please note that there are large boulders abutting the sea wall, so young children must be well supervised. Interaction with GuestsBecause we live on the property, we greet our guests at check-in and inform them about the apartment and about the many great activities in Salem and the surrounding areas. There are also several vacation brochures available in the apartment. We are available for more questions during their stay, but in general, we respect our guests' privacy and only interact upon their request. The NeighborhoodLocated about 1.5 miles from downtown Salem, the house is situated in a quaint Victorian waterfront neighborhood. It's about a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to many historic sights and Halloween activities. The Historic Salem Willows amusement area, one of the oldest in the country, is one block away. A light house, several small beaches, fishing pier, game arcades, kiddie rides, kayak rentals, stand-up paddle board rental, and lots of great fast food including the best popcorn you'll ever taste are just some of the attractions the area has to offer. (Note that The Willows businesses are only open April-Nov) There are also many beautiful places to walk in the Willows and Winter Island Park areas. Four neighborhood beaches are also within walking distance. We are 2.4 miles from the commuter train station. Then a 25 minute train ride to Boston. Getting AroundArriving from Boston Logan Airport: Besides renting a car and fighting the traffic, there are several options for getting to Salem. 1. Take the MBTA from the airport to the Wonderland Station in Revere and hire Uber or a taxi from there. 2. Take the MBTA from the airport to North Station to get the train to Salem Depot. However you have to switch trains at Government Center. It takes about 25 minutes to get to Salem. The house is 2.5 miles from the station. Uber/Taxis are an option from there. 3. The Boston to Salem fast ferry runs from May through October. Check the Internet for schedule and prices. It's about a 20 minute walk to the house from the ferry. Around Town: The sightseeing trolley stops nearby the house from April-November. The trolley is good for one day of getting around Salem. It costs @$15 for one day unlimited hop on and off, and includes a tour. Taxis/Uber are also readily available. Many guests opt to walk the 1.5 miles to town. The train station also has buses to Boston and trains to Rockport, Gloucester and Newburyport. Salem is a great home base to explore the area from just south of Boston to Southern Maine. Other Things to NoteSalem is an ideal location from which to explore many of the surrounding areas such as Boston, Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, Marblehead, Gloucester, Rockport, and Newburyport Mass. In addition, it is accessible for a day trip to southern New Hampshire and southern Maine, as well as Plymouth Plantation which is south of Boston, and Providence RI which is about an hour away. It is not that convenient to drive to Cape Cod for the day, however there is a daily, seasonal ferry that runs from Boston to Provincetown, on Cape Cod. Salem offers many things to do and see, and not just in October. Here is a partial list of Salem's year round events. We can meet you at check in or leave a key for you depending on your arrival day/time. The NeighborhoodConvenience market in walking distance (sandwiches, snacks, basic groceries, wine, beer). Many great restaurants in downtown area, one mile away. We can point you to our favorites including several nice breakfast haunts, Japanese with Sushi, Italian, Mexican, Pizza, Organic, Pubs, and more. Close to several nearby schools- Endicott College, Landmark, Gordon College, Montserrat College of Art. Getting Around30 minutes (non rush hour) driving commute to downtown Boston. 45 minutes by train (easy walk to commuter rail stop). Train to Manchester by the Sea and Rockport Nearby is the Salem ferry to Boston. We have a couple bikes for use. Enterprise car rental in Beverly. Other Things to Note4-5 guests preferred (inquire about exceptions). We have an option for a king bed or 2 twin beds in second bedroom. Please let us know your preference.       The SpaceOur clean, private, and cozy guest room also has our washer and dryer, a quiet fridge and some storage with an unfinished ceiling. It's a work in progress and we will keep the photo updated to reflect it's improvements. Currently, there is a little space around the bed and room for your suitcase and some shelf space. The bedroom is on the first floor next to the entry room/office space. The entry room/office space has a futon. If your party has more than 2, you may use the futon for sleeping though it does not offer privacy with a closed door. However, the rest of the home is upstairs, including the bathroom. Our shared bathroom is newly remodeled and lovely! There is a tub if that's important to you. Guest AccessYou're welcome to the rest of our home and yard which includes the entry room/office, living room, kitchen, and bathroom except the two upstairs bedrooms. The NeighborhoodWe are located in the Ryal Side neighborhood of Beverly on a quiet street just a quick walk from a beautiful park on the Danvers river with beach access, basketball and tennis courts, baseball field and a great playground for kids. Getting AroundApproximately 1 mile from the train where you can get to the seaside communities of Gloucester and Rockport heading north, or to downtown Boston in about a half an hour heading south. We are about a 5 minute drive to downtown Beverly or Salem and about a 10 minute drive to the Northshore Mall and movie theater.

      Hastings Retreat, a 4 bed/3.5 bath vacation rental home, is located in desirable Beverly Cove and includes rights to Brackenbury beach, a large sandy beach which is shared by a just a handful of neighbors. The house is privately situated just 3 properties away from the beach as well as 2.5 miles from the village of Beverly Farms. Enter into the formal foyer and look past the fireplaced dining area, down into the light-filled sunken living room replete with a piano, fireplace and original art by local talents. The next room is the family room with a flat screen TV, plenty of comfy seating and a gas fireplace. Off of the family room is a patio overlooking the yard. The bright and cheery kitchen is fully applianced and also boasts a large eating area with lovely farmer's table and views of the verdant yard. Throughout the house is the evidence of the owner's travels, in art and artifact, always providing something interesting to see. At the other end of the first floor is the mudroom and laundry room, in addition to a full bath with tub and shower. Upstairs are 4 bedrooms including a master suite with full bath (tub & shower) and double sinks as well as another full bath. There are air conditioning units in all bedrooms and in the main living areas. There is plenty of off-street parking in the driveway. Hastings Retreat is a summer beach house that you won't want to leave.       The SpaceThe house has three bedrooms and one bathroom. Two bedrooms are downstairs--one has a queen bed and one is currently being used as a nursery with a crib. We do have a full size bed we can set up in the nursery if needed (please request ahead of time). The third bedroom is upstairs and has a queen size bed and built in desk area. Sheets and towels are provided. Kitchen is fully equipped. There is also a grill in the backyard that guests are welcome to use. There is plenty of parking in the driveway or on the street. There are two flat screen TVs in the house--one in the living room and one in the sun room. The house only has basic cable and one Apple TV which can be set up on the sun room TV or the family room TV. There is NO air conditioning in the house, aside from one window unit which can be used in the upstairs bedroom, on request. The indoor fire place is currently not functional. There is a patio set and umbrella on the back patio in the nice weather months as well as a fire pit available for use. We also have plenty of toys which can be made available for young children! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire house as well as the backyard. The NeighborhoodBeverly is a charming, seaside town on the North Shore of Massachusetts. It is an excellent access point for the beaches and quaint towns of the North Shore as well as the history and charm of Boston. Two small beaches are within walking distance as well one fabulous giant oceanside park and a great kid's playground. The North Shore is extremely family friendly with lots of fun family activities, farms, beaches, and outdoor play spaces. The house is about 1-1.5 miles from Endicott College and 4 miles from Gordon College, making it an ideal location for family weekends and graduation. Getting AroundIt is definitely most convenient to have a car to explore the surrounding communities, though there is a commuter rail train line which runs through Beverly and further up into the North Shore. You can take the commuter line up to towns like Gloucester and Rockport or down to Salem and Boston. It's a great spot to sit and relax with coffee, cocktails or for a meal. Two nice sized bedrooms, a very large living room with built in cabinets, and a dining area with lots of natural light pouring in. Sweet kitchen with plenty of counter space and everything needed for fixing meals. Small but efficient bathroom with combo tub and shower. Additional water closet off of the kitchen for convenience. The apartment has both wi-fi and cable with tv's in the livingroom and both bedrooms. There are three ceiling fans and lovely breezes from the water just two blocks away. Guest AccessYou will have the entire first floor apt within the house with your own entrance and parking space. Enjoy use of the side yard and grab some shade under the very old oak tree! Interaction with GuestsInteraction with guests can be limited. We come and go a lot from our home, but are always available by cell to assist with any needs or questions you may have. We want your experience to be one that you greatly enjoy, and that you'll come back and see us again! If we are here we always enjoy meeting our guests to say hello. We very much want to respect renters privacy so we leave it up to you the renter if you'd like to do a quick meet and greet! We have 2 small Havanese dogs, Max and Maggie who are very lovable and they use the yard and are up with us on the second and third floor. They will use the yard at times during the day but have no entrance to the first floor without invitation. The NeighborhoodWe are in a wonderful location. In one direction you're a block to the ocean and two of the local beaches. In the other direction, you're a block to downtown with numerous little shops and many various type eateries. It's a 6 minute walk to the commuter rail. Our neighborhood is mostly homes built at the turn of the century, and a lovely place to go for a walk by the water at the end of the day. We are perfectly located for your vacation or just a short getaway! Less than 10 minutes to historical Salem with all types of museums and outside waterfront dining spots! There is the speed ferry that can whisk you into Boston, right into the famous Fanual Hall or North End. Use uber transportation to get anywhere in the city you might like to go. In addition, we are close to several of the local colleges ( Salem State, Endicott College, Monserette School of Art and Landmark School ) if you need a comfy place to stay while visiting your kids! You can head north just 20 minutes to the beautiful Gloucester and Rockport beaches and shops, as well as the artists galleries. 30 minutes south and your in Boston! There is also a great speed ferry from Salem ( 5 minutes away) into Boston that brings you right into Fanual Hall and the North End! We provide a great summary at the house of things to do, places to eat and grocery stores etc. Getting AroundWe provide one parking space and there is street parking as well if you have more than one car. Commuter rail is less than a 10 minute walk from the house. Uber and Lift are very accessible to pick you right up at the house. There is a great speed ferry that ruins throughout the day and evening from Salem (5 minutes away) right into the Boston Waterfront. Other Things to NoteWe have beach chairs and a cooler for your use for those beach days! There are several local places to rent paddle boards and kayaks, which also offer classes if you're interested. Information will be listed in our reference book. There is a yoga studio and spinning classes less than 5 minutes from the house as well.

I own and live in the space it is only available when I'm out of town which means it's all yours when you can book. I do have a full-time tentant upstairs so please be respectful with noise. A key is locked in lock box on the property. I only ask you return the set to the lock box when you check out. The NeighborhoodProspect Hill is a lovely neighborhood set right up the hill from Historical Cabot Street. Easy access to restaurants, live music at the Cabot Theatre or Chianti's wine bar. Dane Street beach is a short walk down the road. Getting AroundThe Beverly Depot and commuter rail is a 10-12 minute walk with frequent trains to Boston and beyond. A car is not necessary to stay here : ) A parking space is available in front of the right garage door as well. Street parking is also ample.

      The SpaceThe room is in the basement and is large and comfy. There's a sitting area with a desk and internet access in the shared common space, which also includes a fridge, a microwave, hot pot, dishes, etc. and a sink. Laundry access to be negotiated. An electric piano! The bathroom is in the hall right outside of the room, and may be shared by other guests. You'd keep your bathroom gear in your room. My home is upstairs and my quarters are totally separate and inaccessible from the air bnb space, though I use the common space available to you as well. Guest AccessThere's a large, long driveway, and private access to the room and the other air bnb room in the space. Access available to the back deck and front yard - conservation land across the street for walking, and 20 minute walk to a sweet local beach. There's a pool in the summer on the back deck which we'd have to negotiate use of, swim at your own risk, but there's a large private back deck for sunnning. Interaction with GuestsI'm a working person, so not usually around by day, and come and go back and forth to Boston. I'm very much a people person, so would be happy to meet you, and help you in any way I can. If there's anything in particular that you need, I'm sure I can arrange it, but you'll be on your own for the most part. Continental breakfast in the common space - food available on a help yourself basis. I will try to be here when you arrive but that's not always possible, but I have figured out a clear way for you to come in and I'm always available by messaging or phone. The NeighborhoodThere are so many great restaurants in Beverly, and surrounding towns - Salem (which has a couple of cool museums), Hamilton, Ipswich, Manchester by the Sea, Gloucester. . Also live music in Beverly - nightly jazz at a restaurant/club, and three theaters. Beaches, great views, park across the street. Wonderful beaches in surrounding towns, and sweet local beaches in Beverly. Getting AroundAccess to commuter rail to Boston or Newburyport/Rockport in town. About a 15 minute walk to one train, or parking right there, and parking at two other train stations in town, depending on where you want to go. About a 30-40 minute drive to Boston. Other Things to NoteThe ceiling height is 6'4", so if you're taller than that, you won't be comfortable here. The bathroom tub/shower is elevated, so for taller people, baths are more accessible than showers.

Getting AroundThere is a commuter rail to Salem and Boston and other Cape Ann locations within blocks of the house that you can drive and park, or walk to if you're ambitious. A few minutes to downtown Beverly, with lots of parking, restaurants, theaters, clubs. Also minutes to Salem and Gloucester/Ipswich/Essex/Newburyport. Other Things to NoteThe ceilings are low, so if you are above 6'2" you probably won't be comfortable here. Also the bath/shower is elevated, so if you're a little tall, you may either need to take a bath, or use the portable head to shower while sitting.
