The SpaceSitting right in front of a 1.5 km long white sand beach, the Pajoka beach house offers privacy and a close connection to nature as the only permanent dwelling on the beach. We have a tree house as well!. This three bedrooms home comes with a fully equipped kitchen, library, and a large porch which almost hangs over the beach. Built using sustainably sourced materials, this house attempts to minimize its environmental footprint through generating its own electricity and collecting its own water. In the area, there are caves to explore, corals to discover, and unique culture to experience. It's a bit of adventure getting to our villa. When you arrive in Makassar, you need to either rent a car to get to Ara village or take public transport. If you are a group it is worth renting a car, it'll be a cheaper and more comfortable than taking the public transport. If you need more info about anything please check out our website for more details (URL HIDDEN) or email me. Thank you for looking and hope to see you in our paradise! The SpaceWe are the first backpacker orientated location on the stunning Bara Beach. Surrounded by jungle, our first three huts (made from up-cycled traditional Sulawesi houses) offer wonderful views of the sea. We are an animal friendly residence, with many rescued pets found abandoned in the local area. Our terrace Cafe is a perfect place to relax and dine, offering a 180 degree view of Bara Beach and the charming nearby islands. A sun terrace and other chillout areas occupy the premises. We also offer hammocks on every balcony. Our aim is to interact regularly with guests, if they so wish, with the management living on site to aid wherever possible. Guest satisfaction is our main focus, along with good value for money. We are set well away from the often very busy Bira Beach (a ten minute walk along the beach at low tide). Our neighbours primarily consist of shy monkeys, monitor lizards, the elusive cus-cus (a sloth like creature), wild pigs and of course the stunning marine life on our doorstep. From Makassar airport you can either hire a private taxi to Bira and ask the driver to drop you off at our place along Jalan Bara; a quiet road slightly past the tourist gate. Or take a taxi to the terminal Mallinkeri in central Makassar and take one of the many Toyota Kijangs (shared taxi) to Bira. Don't let them charge you more than 70,000 IDR per person. The drive will take 4-6 hours depending on traffic, and the driver should also drop you off at our destination midway along Jalan Bara. The village itself can be explored on foot, but we feel it is better to hire a scooter from one of the many rental places in Bira. We can pick you up from town using our own scooter, but as we have only one at present it may take a few trips depending on how many people are in your party. Guest AccessStairs to the stunning beach, hammocks, wifi hotspot on the terrace, two shared bathrooms, barbecue area. The SpaceA lot of thought and effort has gone into making our rooms both stylish and practical. We hope to produce a sanctuary for when sunning on the beach or snorkelling amidst turtles and rays becomes tiresome. Guest AccessThe stunning white Bara Beach and the azure waters of the Sea of Flores!!! Interaction with GuestsThe owners currently live on site with a multitude of rescue animals. English is spoken by some of the staff and they can help with most daily enquiries. Getting AroundOur staff can help you find a driver or rent a scooter Other Things to NoteTanjung Bira, and Bara Beach especially, is developing quite quickly. Be aware that building sounds may be present - we sincerely hope not - but at the same time other peoples development is beyond our control. We thank you for your understanding
