The SpaceWelcome! We hope you choose to stay at our family retreat. Whether you are planning a few day trips or are just happy to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Our holiday home is set on 20 acres overlooking a peaceful valley, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Located at Dysart, 40k north of the capital city of Tasmania, Hobart. It is an easy 40 minute drive up the Midlands Highway (M1or A1 on some maps!), or you can take the scenic route past the world renowned Museum of Modern Art, or the many award winning local wineries and some of our heritage towns. If you are coming from the north of the state it is a leisurely 1 & 1/2 hour drive from the city of Launceston. There are many historic towns that are bypassed by the highway, but are easily accessed and worth a visit, for coffee, tea and delicious food! The house has three bedrooms. Two with king size beds in each and one with a queen bed. One of the king beds can be split into two long single beds. As you can see in the photos, they are made up with quality linens and bedding. There are two bathrooms, both with showers, vanity units and toilets. Plenty of soft towels and toiletries are supplied. AND we have recently installed a dishwasher, which I know will be a bonus to our guests! Mobile phone service can be patchy due to the surrounding hills. It does depend on which provider you are using. Unfortunately we don't have any internet access available, at present anyway. Interaction with GuestsWe don't live on site but are contactable by mobile phone or email. The NeighborhoodValley Retreat is in a rural setting, although it is only 35 minutes from the centre of the City of Hobart. Unfortunately we do not have wifi at this time. Getting AroundYou will need a car if you are staying at Valley Retreat. In fact it is the best way to see Tasmania, unless you are on a tour as our public transport system is very basic, unfortunately.

The SpaceThings to do: Mt Field National Park is one of Tasmania's most loved national parks. The park has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife and offers a great range of facilities for day visitors. Few other national parks in Australia offer such a diversity in vegetation, ranging from tall swamp gum forests and massive tree ferns at the base of the mountain, through rainforest along the Lake Dobson Road, to alpine vegetation at the higher elevations. The park essentially has two visitor sections. The first, near the park entrance, includes picnic facilities and the famous Russell Falls. Stunning walks through enormous fern forests and some of the tallest trees in the world are available in this area. The second visitor section is centred at Lake Dobson and includes the long day walks and skiing areas. For the latest snow reports during the ski season, see . Dramatic mountain scenery and alpine plant communities are a feature of the higher parts of the park. Mt Field - Tyenna Valley The causeway across Lake Meadowbank leads to the diverse Tyenna region, the home of the tallest hardwood trees in the world.
