Service by ZR vans and a government-run bus which goes to Cave Hill, near to the university campus. The beach is about 20 minutes away. There is Chanel and Carlton supermarkets close by and S J Health & Bakery Ltd even closer. Getting AroundEasy as pie! ZR vans are privately owned and run frequently. Although somewhat noisy, passengers are friendly and greet people already there with 'Good Morning/ Afternoon. The fare is $2 regardless of the distance. The government run blue buses are not as frequent as the ZR vans, but the fare is the same. You'll need the exact fare for this bus service. Other Things to NoteThere is a scenic ride on Sundays leaving Independence Square at 2 PM. The tour takes you to various venues around the island. You can take a picnic lunch with you. Then there is the Mount Gay Visitor's Center on Spring Garden Highway. You'll get to sample Bajan rum. It is close to Brandon's Beach.

          Crowsnest II is located at the south end of the Platinum Coast of Barbados (just South of St James), 30 ft from the sea, and with a unique 180 degree view of its longest beach. Built in 2006, this 5,000 sq ft (465 sq m) beach-house occupies the top 2 stories of the 3 story building. Finished entirely in hardwood and natural stones it features 5 air-conditioned bedrooms and four bathrooms on the 1st floor, with the living area above, where it catches the breeze.           The SpaceThe next-door neighbours are horses, there's a comfy hammock on the patio, and a beach within three minutes walk. If you're renting when I'm not here, the super-low price is because you're expected to feed, water and interact with my very low-maintenance pets. Guest AccessIf I 'm not here, you can sleep on the king size bed in the bedroom or on the couch in my open plan kitchen-living room. You'll have access to a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook vegetarian or fish meals; you can even use most of the basic stuff like cooking oil and condiments, as long as you replace anything you use a lot of. I'll expect you to be clean and tidy, and leave the space as clean as possible. You can do laundry; there's a washing machine and a covered clothes line. I will provide linens and towels. Plenty of space for parking a car or bike. Interaction with GuestsI will not be here for the period Jul 20 to Aug 27, the dates the house is available. I'm basically looking for someone to feed and water my pets and plants. Can house up to three persons. You must have good references and need to arrive in Barbados before I leave, so that we can meet and I can show you the ropes. The NeighborhoodMy neighbourhood is a fairly quiet one, even though it's a cul-de-sac ending at a very popular beach. Sometimes there are music and sports festivals on the beach, and it's bustling in the evenings, but still fairly quiet. The noisiest days are during Crop-Over weekend. The beach is great! There's a beach bar nearby and a rum refinery. In the evening, the beach is very active, with people playing tennis, volleyball, jogging and swimming. You can make arrangements to go for a horseback ride in the early morning or at sunset; it's quite romantic riding along the beach... Getting AroundUnfortunately. public transport here is not the best. There is an erratic bus that passes within a few minutes walk, but you may have to wait a while for it. Ideal if you have a car, or you're happy to spend most of your time on the beach. The more reliable and very frequent buses can be reached via a 10-15 min walk up to the main road. There's plenty of parking by me; I can send you taxi or bus directions from the airport. If you're arriving at night, best take a taxi, but by day, if your bags aren't heavy, the bus can work. Other Things to NoteThe animals are very low maintenance. The cats just need fresh food and water every day. The dog needs a bit of company; she's happy to grub around outside, but sleeps inside at night. Feel free to take her for a walk.

Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, 2.5 miles North of Bridgetown and 3.5 miles South of Sandy Lane. Kensington Oval is walking distance and, being 4.5 miles from both Holetown and St Lawrence, the beach-house is equidistant between both the major restaurant and nightlife areas on the island. At over 1.2 miles Brighton Beach is the longest on the Platinum Coast and when put together with Paradise Beach (where prestigious Four Seasons Resort is under construction) provides almost 2 miles of uninterrupted powder soft sand. It is the largest turtle hatchery on the island and turtles are often seen laying eggs, hatching and swimming in the surrounding waters. Green Monkeys visit the property and the garden is full of humming birds. Being set back over 100yds from the main road, Sea Turtle does not experience the road noise suffered by most West Coast villas and because Brighton Beach is a mainly residential beach, with no hotels or apartment blocks and only a handful of properties available for holiday rental, the beach itself is almost deserted for the majority of the day/week. The water is usually calm and clear, and swimming is safe with negligible current, and a gentle slope to the sand. Watersports are available to the North of the beach and there is a beach bar/restaurant (Weisers) 200 yds south. The nearest supermarket is walking distance, around half a mile, behind Sea Turtle. This charming 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, bungalow is set in a quarter of an acre of mature gardens and underwent a full refurbishment in November 2011 (including new soft and hard furnishings throughout).                 Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, at the south end of the Platinum Coast of Barbados, with direct access to the sand, and with uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea. Built in the 1960's this spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom bungalow is set in a quarter of an acre of mature gardens and underwent a full refurbishment in November 2011 (including new soft and hard furnishings throughout). A 500sq ft sundeck and a pool were added in November 2012. Situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood two miles north of the city centre the house feels very private and is deal for groups or families wanting an exclusive hassle free beach experience or for intimate "honeymooning" couples. The Master and second bedrooms are both "en-suite". The Master has a "California King-size" bed and the second and third rooms can be configured as either "Large Double", "Twin" or three singles. There is a sofa bed in the lobby between the main lounge and kitchen which can share the "family bathroom" next to the third bedroom and, though designed to sleep 6, there are beds for up to 10 guests should this be required (in exceptional circumstances). The house is child friendly and there is a baby cot/crib available if required. We are close to Spring Garden Highway, where most of the crossover activities happen, 8 minutes walk from Carlton supermarket and a 12 minute walk from Kensington Oval, the mecca of cricket in the Caribbean! You can get public transport by the supermarket to any where in Barbados. We are just to the west of Spring Garden highway on Brighton Beach road south as you head towards wiser bar or Brandon's beach. This area has one of the longest stretch of beach in Barbados with some of the finest sand. The beach is used by a lot of locals for exercising and such like. This area has West India Rum distillery and the Barbados Light & power plant to the north. To the south is the Bridgetown harbour and then bridgetown itself. Kensington oval is a 10 minute walk.
