The SpaceThis lovely valley farm is home to sheep, goats, steers, chickens, ducks, dogs, hogs and cats. In addition to pork, beef, lamb and eggs, we also grow over one hundred varieties of veggies - so breakfast is lavish, healthy and fresh from the fields. You can milk a goat and enjoy the cream in your coffee! We love to eat. We also love books and vintage linens and cozy places to curl up and read - including three antique couches next to the woodstove, a generous shady porch and benches by the pond. When you are done resting - hike, canoe, run, bike or swim in the town pool a short walk away. We are set on the edge of a restored prairie, next to an oak woods and a 3-minute walk from the Pecatonica River and our own DNR-rated trout stream. Guest AccessGuests have the entire second floor, with a bathroom. We'll provide coffee, tea, wine and beer in the downstairs kitchen, and a fire in the living room (when it's cold). Join us for a farm tour, or tag along with chores. You can also book a class while you are here: we teach healthy cooking, beginning gardening, spinning, dyeing, felting and soapmaking. You can even take a boot camp fitness class with us in the morning - or simply plan to just read books on our large porch, wander the grounds and mingle with animals, daydream on one of our many benches or swings and soak up the fresh air. Need more beds for your group? See our other Circle M Market Farm listings for this same property. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available to greet you when you arrive and give you a short tour of the farm. We will also enjoy visiting with you during breakfast - but otherwise we'll be busy out on the farm. We are happy to help you plan your visit and we always have lots of great suggestions for things you can do in the area during your stay. We love it here and we think you will, too. The NeighborhoodWe are located in the gorgeous Driftless Area of Wisconsin, surrounded by rolling hills and gentle valleys. Our small town - a short ten-minute walk away - boasts several great places to eat lunch and dinner, and even listen to live music! We are close to New Glarus and Mount Horeb, which both have great rails-to-trails bike paths, and good shopping. Mineral Point, a historic artists community, is just 1/2 hour away, as is Monroe, the cheese capitol of Wisconsin. Getting AroundBring boots for tramping around, bikes for road and trail rides, and a cooler to buy local beer, cheese, wine and treats. Other Things to NoteWe have animals, lots of them, and while they mostly live outside, sometimes they come in the house. So if you have allergies, we may not be the place for you. But if you like cats, you'll be in heaven!
