Just across the road from beautiful Chandos Lake, boasting 264 KM of stunning shoreline . To be clear though, there is no water view from the house as the shoreline across the road is lined with trees. There is water view just a 4 minute walk - in either direction from the chalet, and access to the lake is just a short walk down the road to a small beach/boat launch.
Fresh country air, spectacular wildlife, lakes and rivers in every direction. Excellent fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and tobogganing
Various options nearby for boats, canoes, kayaks and snowmobile rentals
Surrounded by 100's acres of crown land and 100's of kilometres of awesome snowmobile trails
Dark skies at night showcase brilliant moons and make for awesome star gazing. The big dipper is in plain view from the front balcony every clear night.
Walking distance to FREE, small public beach / boat launch for smaller boats. There are no services at this beach, and it's not nearly as nice as Chandos Beach, but it is does provide quick, easy and close access to the water.
14.6 kilometres to Chandos Beach - a huge, gorgeous, FREE public beach with a roped off swimming area, large sandy beach, change rooms, portable toilets, picnic tables, and a boat launch.
Marina with canoe & kayak rentals, as well as fishing boats, pontoon boat and bowriders - just one minute down the road from Chandos Beach
Golf course, conservation area and hiking trails within 15 minute drive
Apsley has a Foodland, LCBO, gas station, Timbermart and Home Hardware, a corner store & bakery, library, bank, a couple of restaurants, a medical & dental centre and a couple of real estate offices, marinas and retail outlets
Coe Hill also has a restaurant or two, library and liquor store, among other small retailers
TRUTHFULLY, things are generally more expensive in cottage country, you have fewer choices, things close early, and bars and restaurants are far and few between. The Fat Squirrel experience is best enjoyed by taking day trips out, and chilling at home at night. Bring your food and beverages, grab something for the grill, relax on the deck, watch the birds, chill by the campfire, check out the awesome stars, and indulge on the property where you don't need to drive back in the dark afterwards. Getting AroundUnfortunately, there's no public transportation to speak of. You will need a car - but the good news is - there's plenty of free parking! Other Things to NoteI also have a king size suite, with brand new plush and comfortable king size bed, walk-out to small private balcony with bistro set, 40" tv, loveseat and tables for $75 a night.
