This listing includes the large modern kitchen, super convenient and fully equipped, open shelving with everything at hand for the serious cook. A large granite peninsula with stools allow guests to sip and chat. The restored log cabin is a wonderful, large 15 x 25 ft room with a huge original open hearth stone fireplace and plenty wood for a roaring fire, tasteful, comfortable furnishings with HDTV, Netflix, Amazon video etc and wireless internet. The kitchen opens to a beautiful stone and glass dining room with a wall of windows overlooking the lawn and gardens and the woods beyond. Watch the birds and wildlife over a great meal. Two steps down is a second living room/solarium (we call the Morning Room) with windows all around overlooking the gorgeous natural swimming pool (beautiful to look at even in winter surrounded by beautiful grasses) and the 60 mile view over the Loudoun Valley toward Washington. Watch the weather. Just minutes from the country store for farm fresh eggs and provisions, or ten minutes to major chain grocery stores, Starbucks and all your shopping needs. A perfect setting for Christmas and New Year. Put up a Christmas tree cut from our neighbor's farm! Stop in at our neighboring Winery, Twin Oaks Tavern, and don't worry about driving home. Enjoy early morning views over the valley with no houses in sight, just the view the early settlers must have enjoyed (before chopping wood and hauling water up from the spring below!) Upstairs is a large master bedroom and small fully tiled shower bath with lots of dormer windows all around and a super comfy king bed. Wake up to the sunrise! Sit on your private roof deck and watch the stars and 60 mile view toward Washington. There is also a small antique child's bed. Ceiling fans and lots of windows to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Lots of different places to enjoy: read a book, watch a movie, roll out your mat, listen to music or play a tune on the piano, bake some cookies, sip wine by the fire, surf the net or take a great nap.

The washer and dryer are on the ground floor level in this addition, which is a shared area when owners are here. The main house includes the original cabin and , one Bedroom, large kitchen, dining room and morning room and porches. Interaction with GuestsWe may be in residence or not during your stay. In any case, we would be happy to familiarize you with all the great things to do and see around us as well as acquaint you with the house itself. The NeighborhoodWe have the hidden gem of Loudoun county! Walk in our woods, hike the Appalachian Trail just up the road, stop by our neighborhood winery for sunset sipping and local music, drive 5 minutes to the Shenandoah River for fishing or a tube float, cut a Christmas tree from our neighbor's farm, drive 10 minutes to anything you need, 20 minutes to anything you want! Wonderful restaurants with seasonal menus, holiday events in every town around. Famous horse country with point to point races and horse shows; great for avid cyclists, get on your bike in DC and pedal the bike path to Purcellville; lots of history everywhere, famous battlefields of the Civil War, historic houses and gorgeous countryside. A perfect place to relax and re boot, enjoy wildlife, weather and amazing views. Excellent restaurants within 10-30 minute drive, Middleburg, Upperville, Leesburg, Purcellville, Winchester and in other small towns. Our road is fully serviced in all seasons; it is a school bus route. Easy commute to Dulles International (35 minutes) and downtown DC via highways, no traffic lights! (1 Hour off rush hour). Explore beautiful country roads through horse country, wine country, antique shops and historic civil war sites. There is a county bus transportation to the Silver Line metro to downtown Washington, DC on a limited schedule. There is taxi service to Dulles International that costs about $80. Other Things to NoteThe stairs are steep. Handrail is to be used at all times.

We have expansive lawns and gardens and 30 acres of woods. Shoes and long pants are recommended for walking in the woods. Bring bug spray, sun block and beach towel.
In winter be careful on the driveway and walk paths, particularly if it is icy. Guests are responsible for de- icing walkways and hold harmless owners from any liability whatsoever.

Gas heat in winter and summer a/c and electricity are included although we expect guests to be energy conscious.
Trash pick up once a week at the top the driveway.
Wood is available from the wood pile on the porch.
Exit cleaning is included in the airbnb fee.
A 4WD Toyota truck may be available for a reasonable charge with limited mileage.
Breakfast is not included long term, but kitchen has breakfast fixings on arrival as well as basic provisions for guest use during their stay. Please replace anything you use up completely.
Walk shoveling and driveway plowing will be provided as needed upon arrival. Long term guests may arrange for this service as needed at their own expense.
