The NeighborhoodThe property is situated in the Great Lakes region with access to stunning Lakes & beaches Wallis, Smiths & Myall Lakes , Cellito, Boomerang, Blueys, Elizabeth & Seal Rocks. Plenty of thing to do on the property and near by. Tennis, volley ball, bush walks, read a book in the hammock, cook on the open fire pit, play badminton, fish & swim off the jetty, bring a boat or canoe/ kayak or paddle board to explore the lake, Hire a boat or kayak or windsurfer from across the lake. Breakfast and coffee available at a selection of cafes at Bluey's Beach Eat out at one of the local restaurants, Buddha on the Beach at Moby's or Jet Su fresh Malaysian or the Kingfisher all within 10 min drive from Brushy Point. Or go to the local seafood shop for fresh prawns or local oysters & daily caught fish. Visit Seal Rocks Beaches and take the short walk to the lighthouse with stunning views. Mountain bike or drive through the Wallingat National Park (just 5 min away) to the native rainforest bush walk or drive to the Whoota lookout. Whale watch or dive at Forster or Seal Rocks. Do the coastal walk from Elizabeth over Booti Booti to Seven Mile beach or just relax in the hammock at Brushy Point. Getting AroundA bus into Forster goes past Brushy Point each day The recreation club across the lake has a courtesy bus to the club if you want a night out of a meal & entertainment. There is ample room on the property for car parking. Other Things to NoteBrushy Point is an eco friendly nature escape situated cross the road from Wallingat National Park. Eco friendly guests are welcome. Brushy Point runs on solar electricity & hot water systems, all rain water is collected into tanks. We ask all guests to conserve the rain water. Water waste is UV treated & used for irrigation, food scraps are composted with worms & used for the gardens. We do not have a hair dryer in the cottage. This can be arranged if requested in advance. The SpaceOur place is in an exclusive area but our home is ordinary compared to many of the plush villas nearby. Not posh but in a perfect position, small but stylish. The house is welcoming and comfortable. The room is offered at a very reasonable rate for the area. Large, with a king size bed it's suitable for couples or really close friends that don't mind sharing! There is also a balcony so you can sit, relax and watch the world go by. There is an outside sitting/eating area in the back garden especially for visitors to use. The bathroom is just across a tiny landing from your room. There is another toilet down stairs. The kitchen is compact but cute and there's a big fridge, juicer and Vitamix available to use. I am a single mum who lives here with my son and daughter. I am around most days and happy to provide you with information about great places to visit, where the good food is, and not to be missed experiences in the local area. Most people come here for the beaches; Blueys, Boomerang, Shelly's, Elizabeth and Seal Rocks. Take your pick they are all stunning and special for different reasons. We have snorkelling gear you can borrow but only one surf board (not for loan) so if thats your thing you need to bring your own or talk to me before you arrive and I can book you surf lessons with the local legend Gary Hughes. It's a typical home with a teenager and a six year old, lively and fun. Children are welcome. The room/bed is big enough for extra guests. Restaurants, beaches, cafes, lakes...all within walking distance but you will need a vehicle to go further. Guest AccessYou have access to the whole house, except the family bedrooms. If it's not booked out you can relax in the Tipi, a great space for kids to play in. Outside seating in the garden is also available especially for our visitors. There are three seperate entrances and an undercover parking space if required. Interaction with GuestsI am here most days to give you advice on the local area if you want it or to keep out of your hair if you don't. We are sharing our homes for the most part so it's essential to know a little bit about who we are sharing them with! The NeighborhoodPristine water... beaches and lakes combined with abundant wildlife...whales dolphins, sea eagles, kangaroos...there is even a sign asking visitors to look out for koalas on the road! Blueys is a famous surfers beach with excellent waves most days. Getting AroundThere is a twice daily bus to Newcastle/Sydney. Otherwise your own vehicle is recommended if you want to go further afield. You could however do plenty soley on foot from our place and still have a great time! Other Things to NoteWe are especially keen to spread the word about plastic in the worlds oceans. We have great videos and books on all things ocean We have a delightful dog called George. Please don't choose here if you don't like dogs or else George will sulk and then we will end up worrying about him! He is a clever, loving kelpie/cross who thrives on kindness.

A bathroom with shower and toilet is on each level, and hot and cold water outdoor shower is out the back. A large covered rear deck provides extra entertaining space with the sound of the surf and water glimpses and provides extra entertaining space. For the cooler evenings, and through winter, a fire bit in the back yard provides for some extra warmth.     The SpaceThe Rammed Earth Studio is attached to our home and is one large spacious room, with self contained kitchen and a private OUTDOOR bath house, with shower, bath & toilet overlooking a garden setting. Guest accommodation has a private entry to the studio and can be left up to their own devices for a private getaway. The studio is not suitable for children under the age of five. Guests will have access to our private eight acre property. We are happy to tell guests about all the beautiful places to visit around the Great Lakes area. Best if you have a vehicle. Guest AccessGuest will have access to the Rammed Earth Studio & Bath house and surrounding lawn and garden. Interaction with GuestsWe leave guests to relax and unwind in their own space and are available to give directions, recommend local activities and attractions.     The SpaceFully equipped large house with tennis court, table tennis and large covered verandah with timber table seating for 14. A wood fire inside and camp fires- one next to the large verandah and the other behind the tennis court are great for the colder months with fire wood supplied by the owners. Party lights on the verandah to set the scene for those nights BBQing near the verandah. A new pateo area with seating for 10 next to the tennis court is lovely addition to the backyard. Free Wi-Fi for your convenience and local calls is located in the sitting room on top of the piano. There are 5 bedrooms- each separate. Two are ensuite with double beds. One is a queen bed. All double bedrooms are large enough for cots. The bunk room has four single beds with extra mattress. There is also a small single bedroom. There are also two extra queen mattresses that inflate quickly and are good quality. The lounge in the sitting room pulls out as a double bed if needed. A 3 minute drive to the best beaches and lakes and to local shops and cafes. Children and pets welcome. Plenty of rooms and space- very family friendly. Tennis racquets, bats, balls, basketball all supplied . Linen and towels are not supplied , but can be organised at an extra cost . Friendly local hosts who meet and greet.
