The SpaceThe house is of a good size, and besides the living area, it holds my architecture practice and a collective arts atelier, all in separate areas.
The decor is mainly vintage with a lot of art and book in the walls and desks.
Wi-Fi, parking and a big garden are some of the amenities available.
We are fluent in Portuguese and English, and we do understand and speak some Spanish.
I'm an architect and visual artist and my wife is a nurse. Music, cinema, gastronomy and traveling are part of our way of life. Guest AccessAs private area we offer one guest room, with a double beds, with a balcony facing the backyard. A hammock is available in the balcony. One bathroom is shared by the two guest rooms. As a guest you will also have access to all the common areas of the house, as the living and dining room, kitchen, tv room, arts atelier and laundry (this two in the basement) and the garden. The only area out of bounds is the architectural office.
You will get a key for a side entrance, that gets you right in the living room. Interaction with GuestsAs we really love hosting, we try very hard to be available to help and assist our guest in any need they may have. In the weekend is common to arrange some sightseeing, trekking to some waterfalls or a trip to the nearby cities.
We also like to cook to our guests, and also like to have them cooking something different, from their culture to us.
But this all depends on the guest, and if you like to have your space and freedom, we'll allow it. The NeighborhoodAbout Blumenau:
With a higher standard of living than the national average, Blumenau has the dynamism of a modern center, high income per capita and low rates of illiteracy and violence. It is a modern city that offers good infrastructure with the spice of German traditions.
Main economic activities - Trade and industry, especially textiles and the production of crystals, known also by the production of ceramics, porcelain, musical instruments, artisan chocolates and tourism.
Nearby Cities - Pomerode, Indaial, Timbó, Rio dos Cedros. Getting AroundAs the house is located in the city center, a short 5 minutes walk will take you to the downtown area, and a 15 minutes walk will take you as far as the Oktoberfest Pavilions.
Public transportation is available in several stops around the area. There is a open parking space in front of the house that may be used by guests. Other Things to NoteThe house is owned by a black cat named Cat aka WiFi (for the lack of tail). He and his two younger feline helpers rule the house and are kind enough to allow me and my family to live here and to host some guests.
As most felines, they are very quiet and tidy, but also very curious, so we recommend that you close the bedroom doors at all times.
As we have two rooms on AirBnb, the bathroom may be shared with some other guests.
