The SpaceAs stated, it is a very open floor plan. The bathroom is totally open to the bedroom and both are lofted above the main living area which provides some privacy. Note: I sometimes rent my cottage to friends-of-friends and others that just hear about it word-of-mouth. One such rental was a recent father and son retreat booked by a local woman who knew of my place through friends. The following is an email she sent me after their stay. "I wanted Ken and Nick to have as much Father / Son bonding time as possible which is why we rented the cottage versus him staying with us. Your space felt like "home" the minute they walked in --- so much so that we cooked and ate dinner in both Wednesday and Friday as there was no reason to go out. The wood stove and the cozy ambience was better than any restaurant. I got to spend some time there by myself cooking Friday and really appreciated the handout you left which made finding everything I needed in the kitchen easy -- your info sheet was super detailed and really helpful -- pretty much answered any question that came up. Ken liked having Abby around -- we are cat people -- so he enjoyed the furry housemate though our cats knew he cheated on them. I can't think of anything to improve. Ken was really impressed that you left coffee even though I don't think they used it and went to the Pump Station or Cafe Lemont, but the fact that it was available was really nice touch. I think the only thing that was a little tricky was the bathroom but the set-up was clearly explained so we knew that before even renting and they figured out a system. One of the things Ken and I commented on, having stayed in a few [other places], is that your place felt uinquely intimate. Others we have stayed at were certainly nice as well, but sort of impersonal. We recently stayed at a house rental on Cape Cod that was gifted to us and while it was very very charming, it still felt devoid of personal energy -- essentially it still felt like a rental. Your cottage -- maybe its Abby, maybe its because there is an energetic imprint of your life there -- felt more like a home we got to share. Thank you for everything and hope to cross paths with you and Claire again soon." Jenny and Ken Jennifer Hwozdek, CCH, RSHom(NA) Professional, Nationally Certified Homeopath Guest AccessYou have access to the whole house and lovely property. However, my place is not really setup for small children or elderly people due to an open loft and steep stairs. Interaction with GuestsYou will have the place to yourself but I do prefer to greet you upon arrival and show you around. I will be available to you during your stay if you need. I also prefer to meet with you upon checkout if possible. The NeighborhoodBoalsburg Village is a wonderful community with shops, restaurants, museums, a cafe, and beautiful green spaces. Neighbors are quiet and friendly. Getting AroundLimited bus service only steps away. Other Things to NoteI have a very friendly and laid-back cat named Abby. She doesn't like to be relocated and I don't really have a place to take her so she has to stay. Don't worry, she's really nice and kinda keeps to herself. I keep her litter box very clean so there is no oder. But, if you're allergic, it might be best not to book with me. Sorry.
