The SpaceThis room (cottage) is a part of the larger project, "BABLI" [Bureau For Agro-Based/ (website hidden)dustries].
We are a…
in interior Birbhum,
West Bengal, India.
Various unconventional farming methods, aimed at rejuvenating the agriculture of the region and countering the process of rapid urbanisation by trying to support the rural culture and livelihood.
Our aim is…
To put in a sustained effort to rejuvenate the fast-depleting forest cover of the adjoining areas, and conserve the threatened flora and fauna of the region, through a ‘minimum intervention’ process.
We also have…
A GUEST-HOUSE – where like-minded people, who want to spend a few days in a unique space, away from the din of city life, can rent cottages of various types and tariffs.
However, we are not a ‘resort’.
You can find exhaustive information about our project and its resident guest-house at our website - (URL HIDDEN) Guest AccessGuests are free (and encouraged) to interact with and participate in all or any of the farming/ wilderness-management activities that take place on a daily basis within the project. Interaction with GuestsI am the 'Field-Director' of the project - and am usually stationed within the premises, other than periodic visits I have to make to the city. Getting AroundYou can park your vehicle within the project for a nominal fee.
We can arrange for you to avail locally available hired-vehicles, at fare and fixed rates.
There are local busses which can take you into town - but that will be an 'adventure' of sorts, as these are primarily meant for the villagers and their rural lifestyles. Other Things to NoteThis room is available for visitors who plan to spend at least 5-nights at the project, preferably with intentions of volunteering any the activities of the farm/project
Other rooms at the projects Guest-House maybe booked for shorter periods.
A MAXIMUM of TWO (2) guests are allowed in this cottage - though children below 08-years maybe allowed, on request.
