The SpaceGreat place for family and friends to gather where there is quality time away from the madness. Comfortably sleeps 8 but can accommodate 10. Guest AccessEnormous kitchen with built-in fireplace, 3m long table, yellowwood cupboard with all your cultery and crockery requirements. Separate Dining room. 2 lounges with an inter-connecting fireplace. It has no pool (safe for those with little children) but the 2 farm dams offer great swimming and bass fishing. The farm is a working grape farm and you can join in. There is 500 hectares of undeveloped fynbos where you can go hiking, walking or bring your bikes. At night time, lying on lawn offers uninterrupted star gazing and satellite spotting. There is a table tennis table on the verandah. Good family fun. There is a TV screen but bring your own videos. Interaction with GuestsThe farm house is completely independent. It is fully walled separating it from the farm manager’s house. It is sufficiently far enough apart for complete privacy but close enough if assistance is required. If desired, continental breakfasts are on offer. The NeighborhoodIn season, you can walk up to Spanspek se Plek to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. In the area, visit the local wine estates of Bonnievale, van Loveren, Springfield, Bon Courage, De Wetshof, Zandvliet, amongst others. At the top of the hill is La Montanara where you can get cheeses and fresh breads. Next door is the Happy Hog for best free range pork delicacies. Or visit the surrounding towns of Robertson, Swellendam, Montagu, McGregor. The beach of Witsand, Agulhas or Arniston is only an hour away. Getting AroundGetting there requires a car but bring your mountain bike for riding through the fynbos area. 4 car garage and carport so plenty of space for cars to park. Other Things to NoteFarm is situated on the R60 which can get busy at times.

The SpaceWe are in a quiet and peaceful area~ our little (two bed) cottage has all that you need for a great rest away from the hub and noise of the city. It fits comfortably for two, however we do have a pull out couch, if there is an extra person. The cottage is private, yet close to our house if there is anything you need to ask. There is a lovely fire place for the winter chills and a lovely cool stoop for the summer sun, a place to have a yummy barbecue with lots of space for lying outside and reading a good book. The views from the front garden are amazing looking over the mountain ranges. It is indeed a place to come and repose, repair and restore your strength! A decent kitchen and sitting room area, with all the mod cons ! . We dont have TV but free WIFi so bring along your computer and smart phone, you will be outside and driving around the area taking in the wine farms and beautiful views. Tasting all the good food and wines grown in this area. There are a zillion things to do, if you have energy! Mountain climbing, touring around the wine farms and visiting the cheese and olive farms. Motor bike hiring in Montagu to tractor tours in Montagu. Farmers markets and lots of safe walking space. Guest AccessBonnievale is a quiet little town surrounded by the blue mountains of the overberg, our little village is in the centre of Breede River Wine Valleys! Some lovely things to do here for holidays. Cheese, wine,olives, tractor rides up the mountains etc! The garden and outdoor barbecue area are for your entertainment and feel free to wander around our water wise garden. Interaction with GuestsWe are here also and if you need us we are present. I will be available if you need a guide around this area, though its all very easy and laid back around this area of the Cape. We are available if you need anything. The NeighborhoodThis area is safe and quiet. One always has to be careful wherever one is in this world. But we have not had any problems here. We have been in Bonnievale for 9 years now. There are the usual chemist and post office, shops and garages. Getting AroundThere is parking inside under the trees and its quite safe and locked at night and during the day. The public transport runs from Ashton and Riviersonderend. About 30kms away. We dont have any buses or trains here, but can always offer a lift if you give me enough warning. We can do airport runs and there is a service in town offering as well. Other Things to NoteWe have free wifi and breakfast basket, if you require them. There is a lovely bistro not far down the road and lots to do and go to, within a short distance.

We are approx. 18kms from the village of Bonnievale and 23kms from McGregor with some of SA's top wine farms within a 15min drive. Vinophiles can blend, bottle and label their ‘Own Creation’ in the tasting room, situated on the water’s edge of the farm dam which is abundant with birdlife. Dinner: Dinner is a set three course menu which changes daily taking advantage of what is in season. Home cooked ‘farm food’ is lovingly prepared. A typical menu might include: camembert and olive quiche, pork fillet flambéed with cream and brandy served with stir fried vegetables and lemon potatoes followed by a three chocolate pudding. Dinner is accompanied by a range of the estate wines. Booking is however essential as food is always freshly prepared. Although it is a set menu, we are happy to cater to guests dietary requirements so please just give us advance warning if there are some foods you prefer not to eat. R 280 per person for three courses, including wine. Deli: Visit the deli and enjoy one of the freshly bakes ‘roosterbrood’ sandwiches with your choice of gourmet fillings. Traditional breads are baked every morning in a wood fired oven and prepared using, where possible, local produce. The menu is changed on a monthly basis meaning that there is always something new for you to try. The deli is situated on the bank of the farm’s dam with a large expanse of lawn in front of it. Enjoy views of the birdlife while enjoying your meal and then wander down to the tasting room with a deck spanning over the water’s edge to taste the estates full range of wines. There is also a diverse range of local products for sale which showcases the abundance of talent in the Breederiver Valley.
