The SpaceWhy stay at a hotel when you can stay in a comfortable and adorable cottage in Boone? The cottage is conveniently located between Blowing Rock and Boone with easy access in every season. We are 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes from Blowing Rock and Tweetsie, 15 minutes from Downtown Boone, and 35 minutes from Banner Elk. When you come, you will have the entire house to yourself to relax on the wrap around deck or sit by the gas fireplace with a cup of coffee (or tea). *Please take note: The gas fireplace is disconnected.* There is plenty to see and explore in the High Country or you are more than welcome to enjoy the serenity of the cottage at Goshen! The neighborhood has a low volume of traffic so you can hear the peaceful sounds of the creek in the backyard. Great place to stay when you come to root for the Appalachian Mountaineers! The master bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. All of the basic cooking essentials are provided along with comfy linens and towels. Free Wi-Fi throughout the house and a "Smart TV" in the living room. There is plenty of parking in the circle driveway. Pets are not allowed except for the occasional duck crossing the yard from the creek to the pond. Some of our favorite places to eat are Coyote Kitchen, Makotos, Hob Knob Farm, and for a fine dining experience go to Bistro Roca in Blowing Rock. We look forward to having you! Other Things to NoteAssuming you are wanting to make a reservation, be open-minded and have reasonable expectations once you get here. Remember that it's somebody's home, not a 5-star hotel—if you're expecting a welcome gift and housekeeping to pick up after you, Airbnb might not be the right fit.

The SpaceBoone and the High Country have something good happening all the time! Whether you are coming to see wildflowers or snow ski, go to Appalachian State Football games, or attend Merlefest, our Basement Suite is a great choice! The basement suite can technically sleep three guests - in one double bed and one twin (in separate rooms).Basement suite has private entrance and exit through our garage. Guest AccessGuests booked in the basement suite enjoy the private adjoining bathroom and shared access to the den. The downstairs den is equipped with a mini-fridge and microwave for guest use. Guests are also welcome to share the front porch. On weekday mornings you'll find continental breakfast offerings in the kitchen. On weekend mornings, let us serve you something special, like omelets, pancakes, or eggs cooked to order. Interaction with GuestsWe will be in and out of the house during your stay - going about our lives, either at work, hiking, playing tennis, bike riding, etc. We will check with you each evening to see if you need directions or information. At that time we can also visit with you regarding our recommendations for how to enjoy beautiful Boone year round. We can offer you a glass of wine or a cup of tea as we chat if you like. Or, if you prefer to spend your time in solitude, just let us know and we can respect that. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is great! We have wonderful neighbors and know them well. We often socialize with them. That said, the houses are far apart and our house is most quiet and serene, even on the front porch. Our neighborhood has mature trees and plants. Our home is very close to Rocky Knob bike park and not too far to some tremendous hiking trails. We can advise you about trail head locations, length and difficulty of most local hikes. We are festival goers and can advise about Grandfather Games, Merlefest, local restaurants, museums, and much more. Just ask! We've lived here 11 years and are happy to call Boone home! Getting AroundParking is included with your stay. Four-wheel drive is recommended for our road and driveway in the winter. You will need your car to enjoy Boone and surrounding destinations. We can advise about the use of mass transit around Boone (called Appalcart). Other Things to NoteOur house is home to a house cat (Freya). The basement suite is a pet free zone, so you'll find it clean and free of pet hair/dander. Please understand our house is older, and there are some creaky floorboards. Parking is at a premium here. When you check in, you will be assigned a place to park. Please use only that spot to avoid blocking us or another guest from exiting the driveway easily.

The SpaceOur alpine-inspired house was built in 1970 and has a cottage feel. We are perched on top of a hill, with a mountain behind us and tall trees all around. Our street is quiet, and we sometimes glimpse wildlife (birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, and the occasional rabbit or fox in our yard. We are very close to Rocky Knob bike park and not far from many great hiking trails. My husband frequents our local trails and will give you detailed information about hikes - just ask! Guest AccessGuests will of course have private use of the cozy room. The bathroom is just down the hall. (may be shared if others are booked during your stay. If this is a concern, please talk with the host before you book. Guests are also welcome to curl up on the couch in our living room or den (both have fireplaces!). Our downstairs den has a TV, mini-fridge, and microwave for our guests to use. Our large, covered front porch is a lovely place to read, bird watch, drink tea, etc. We've got blankets and a porch heater if it's chilly outside! The porch has a mini-fridge for your use. The porch is also equipped with speakers if you want to use your phone to play music/pandora. Interaction with GuestsWe will be in and out of the house during your stay. Each evening we will check with you to see if you need any help planning your next day (suggestions, directions) and to arrange the menu and time for your breakfast. We would love to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with you and talk about your day, if you would like that. On weekday mornings help yourself to continental breakfast offerings in the kitchen. On weekend mornings, let us serve you something special like omelets, pancakes, or eggs cooked to order! The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is great! We have some lovely neighbors on our very street and socialize with them often. However, that said, the houses are far apart and when you are in our house or even on the porch, it's pretty relaxing and quiet. Our neighborhood has gorgeous trees and plants! Getting AroundBoone has Appalcart, but it doesn't come out to our neighborhood. You are gonna need your car...but my husband can equip you with maps, detailed directions, etc. Four wheel drive is recommended for our road and driveway in the winter. Other Things to NoteOur house is home to a house cat (Freya) and an older dog (Matilda). They are friendly, will greet you, and will be interested in you, but once they know you are staying, they'll drift back into their favorite activity - sleep. Because our house is older, some floorboards creak.

The SpaceMy home is simple and uncluttered. There is no traffic, as I am at the end of the road. It is filled with natural light. If you're wanting to get away from hustle and bustle, and just enjoy peace and quiet for a few days, my home is the perfect retreat center. If desired, you can also treat yourself to a healing session, yoga, guidance in meditation, even a gourmet vegetarian meal by candlelight! Guest AccessGuests will have access to a cozy bedroom with a firm double size (not queen) futon on a wood frame about ten inches off the floor. There is a bathroom close by for nocturnal visits, and a guest bathroom and shower downstairs. Kitchen, dining room and living room are available for your enjoyment, as well as a patio downstairs and a deck off the meditation room upstairs. Interaction with GuestsI tend to go about my days as needed. Sometimes I'll be out of town during guests' stays, and will leave instructions. The NeighborhoodThe neighbors are great--friendly, helpful, everything you could ask for. It's totally safe. Lots of kids. Getting AroundBoone has very limited public transportation. A vehicle is a must. Do keep in mind that I'm at the end of 4 miles of a country road, of which the last 2 are gravel. It follows the river and is beautiful. But if you're coming for the first time, I do recommend coming by daylight. Other Things to NoteI have a cat who adores people, but will not tolerate four-leggeds. So please leave your pets at home. The road can be dark at night, so a flashlight is helpful. If you don't have one, let me know, and I'll leave one in the mailbox. Please keep in mind that I live at the end of four miles of country road, of which two are gravel. The second mile has just been paved, and is super smooth! To better serve you, please keep in mind that I generally don't check email after 9 PM or before 10 AM. Although I've accommodated guests on less than 24 hours' notice, I do prefer more advance notice, if possible. If it's not possible, do try me, and I'll do my best to help you out.

The SpaceThis early 1960s cabin was built as a summer home then stood neglected for years until we bought it with some friends and lovingly restored it. We are dog lovers ourselves who enjoy traveling with our pets so we welcome you to bring yours along, just tell us. A reasonable pet fee is charged. The floors are hardwood except in the kitchen and bathroom. There is no dishwasher (except for you or your kids!) and the shower is a stall and not a tub/shower. We DO have wifi. Guest AccessThis house has two levels. The top level is the living area that you are renting. The basement level is where you will find the laundry area. The two levels are NOT connected by interior stairs. You can drive to the upper level, which is easiest for unloading and loading. We own 3.5 acres with this cabin and there are trails and small roads to hike from here. We are less than 15 minutes to downtown Boone and there is a super market 10 minutes away. Interaction with GuestsWe live on this same road but nearly a mile away. We are usually around and see our guests coming and going but do not intrude unless asked to stop by; we are easily available if there are any issues to resolve at the cabin. The NeighborhoodOur community is small and very safe. Some of our neighbors live here full time and some are summer and fall only. It's quiet and beautiful. Getting AroundOur cabin is at the top of a state-maintained unpaved road. We generally close down the house for the winter after the New Year's holiday week because the windows are single pane and a keen knowledge of using the fireplace insert is required to supplement the electric baseboard heat. If you think you're hardy enough for winter living on the ridge, please inquire. We're always willing to consider it. Other Things to NoteWe generally add a $40 cleaning fee and take a fully refundable $100 security deposit for first-time guests.

Elegant, fun and romantic.... Monkey Business is brought to you by the creator of The Dog House and is located in the same area of convenience between Boone and Blowing Rock. This unique home offers a comfortable lodge-like appeal with rustic hardwood floors and leather upholstery. The front porch poles are cut from Watauga River driftwood. The living area is furnished with antiques and original art and features a stacked-stone wood burning fireplace (firewood provided) with a 32-Inch HDTV and Bose entertainment center designed into the stone. Antique wormy chestnut corbels support a carved pine mantel. The French farm dining table is flanked by two hand-carved oak chairs from the late 1800s. An antique leaded glass window, pendant light and original art provide the finishing romantic touch to this dining area. All lighting is dimmer-controlled and the windows feature push button shades for privacy. Uba Tuba granite countertops, maple cabinets, Travertine backsplash, and stainless steel appliances comprise the kitchen. The washer and dryer are located in the bathroom which features a vanity made from a hand-carved antique oak preacher's podium with a Verde Peacock granite countertop. Hillside cabin is perched on a hillside on a quiet side street near the Boone city limits. I had this cabin built in 2009 and it has been my most popular rental. It is separated from the other houses on the lane and has a quiet relaxed feeling as you sit on the deck looking at the ridge around Boone. Yet you are only a couple miles from grocery stores and restaurants. It is small but does have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in addition to a fully equipped kitchen. There is a TV in every room, wifi, a window AC unit cools the whole place down. There are cathedral t&g; ceilings and ceiling fans in every room. It is usually booked so call early if you want this gem. I have kept my prices low because I would rather have it occupied than to try to squeeze top dollar out of it. This is a small side quiet side street that sits on the city limits of Boone. It is convenient to all grocery stores and restaurants and activities in Boone and only 3 miles from downtown Boone and ASU yet is very peaceful. This is on the south side of Boone in between highways 421 and 105 right off the 105 bypass.

To the right, you’ll also see Sugar Mountain, but "BeechSugar View” didn’t have much of a ring to it, so “Beechview” stuck and we’ve been using it ever since! - Neal & Kristyna, homeowners Welcome to Beechview Retreat! Outside off the parking area, there is a children’s swing and baby swing with a stone fire-ring to enjoy s'mores. Located near the NC/TN border in the gated community of Silverleaf, in Zionville, this lovely cabin is a great home base for exploring all that the High Country has to offer. The weather is always cooler at the top of the mountain- usually around 20 degrees cooler than the flatlands! Check the Zionville area weather here and subtract 3-5 degrees to get Beechview's temperatures. You’re sure to love the Beechview Retreat! The virtual tour mentions a woodburning fireplace in the living room. This was changed to a gas fireplace in November 2015. Please Note: If you want to see the one of the best views in the Blue Ridge this is the place but of course, it requires leaving the pavement behind. The road to Beechview is a well-maintained scenic 2 mile gravel drive but if there's snow on the ground, a 4 x 4 (or chains) is strongly suggested.
