      Cranford on the Miles is a waterfront home located on 3+ acres, in St. Michaels. Fully renovated, with Wi-Fi, there is a Master Bedroom with king bed, sitting room, and private balcony; Second Bedroom with a double bed; Third Bedroom with both a double and twin bed; and a Den with a trundle bed with 2 twins beds and a second balcony. Downstairs there is a queen sofa bed. Every room has a view of the water. The private dock has electricity and water, from which you can watch wildlife, fish or crab (we usually catch a dozen crabs a day). Roast marshmallows over the fire pit, or cook your fish on the grill. Bring your boat and launch from the public boat ramp within walking distance. Or just relax on either the screened porch with ceiling fans, cushioned sofa and chairs, or the front porch rocking chairs.       The historic and recently restored Thomas Blades House is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom vacation cottage that is a short walk from the harbor, all museums, parks, restaurants, town pool, library, churches and shops in St. Michaels. The house was built around 1850 by Thomas Blades, a young sailor. The first floor of the original portion of the Blades House includes a LIVING ROOM and a DINING ROOM. To the rear of the original house on the first floor is a KITCHEN area connected to a large wood paneled FAMILY ROOM. The rear of the family room opens up by French doors to a large outdoor PORCH. The second floor of the original portion of the Blades house includes a large BEDROOM with a queen size bed. The second floor to the rear of the house contains the large MASTER BEDROOM with a king size bed. Three day minimum for Wine Festival, Easter, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.       The recently restored historic Washington Melson House is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom vacation cottage that is a short walk from the harbor, all museums, town pool, parks, restaurants, library, churches and shops in St. Michaels. The house was built around 1840 by Washington Melson, a sailor, believed to be one of two individuals in Talbot County who voted for Abraham Lincoln in the presidential election of 1860. The house was originally built at only 16 feet wide but enlarged to the current width soon thereafter. The first floor of the original portion of the Melson House includes a LIVING ROOM and a DINING ROOM. On the first floor of the REAR WING is a KITCHEN area which opens up by French doors to an OUTDOOR PATIO. The kitchen also connects to a large FAMILY ROOM with a queen sleep sofa. There is a half bath on the first floor. The second floor of the original portion of the Melson house is a LARGE BEDROOM having two twin beds. The second floor of the rear wing contains the MASTER BEDROOM having a queen size bed, and a full bathroom. Rates vary accordingly to the season, and the length of stay (e.g.s weekend, week, or entire season). The minimum stay is two nights (3 nights during summer). Tucked away behind the entry is a nook with new sink, microwave, and coffee maker for leisurely snacks (not a full kitchen). Main level also features a new, clean full bath with glass shower (with grab bars), luxurious and fluffy towels. Near the stairs headed up to the loft is a large closet for coats or hanging party dresses! Maximum 4 adults. Upstairs in the artists' loft, enjoy the streaming sunshine and views where the previous owners, famous local artists, completed works that have graced the St. Michaels Art League posters for years!           The historic Thomas Harrison House is located on the harbor in the center of the town of St. Michaels. This Eastern Shore/Chesapeake Bay vacation rental has magnificent water VIEWS and can accomodate up to 12 people. The house is a short walk from all the museums, parks, restaurants, churches, and shops in St. Michaels. Built around 1790 by Thomas Harrison Jr., "house carpenter," the two-story side hall/parlor clapboard house is the oldest two story dwelling in St. Michaels. It stands prominently on the town harbor adjacent the town PARK. The house is fitted with late eighteenth century style woodwork. The floors are wide plank heart of pine, and the windows have very old glass. The federal style stair, the raised six panel doors, and the period chair rails are original features. On the first floor of the original or 'Harrison House' are the side hall (foyer) and a large PARLOR (living room) with a spectacular view of St. Michaels Harbor. To the rear of the living room is the LIBRARY having a fireplace, books, a television, stereo, games, cards and puzzles, and the DINING ROOM which can comfortably seat ten. To the rear of the dining room is a one story wing which houses a large, fully equipped KITCHEN. Also on the first floor is a DEN having a fireplace and half bath. For relaxing outside on the property, the house offers a brick patio facing the harbor and the Miles River, and a covered PORCH facing the white picket fence enclosed back yard and gardens. The second floor of the Harrison house includes the MASTER BEDROOM having a queen size poster bed and a twin trundle bed, a full bath, and an adjacent small sitting or READING ROOM which has a twin sofa bed. The house has waterviews and access to it's own personal dock which is great for fishing, kayaking or paddle boarding. Spend the day out on local waterways and then relax the night away listening to the evening birdsong on the spacious screened in front porch or enjoying all the great restaurants and shopping St. Michaels has to offer, The cottage features two bedrooms along with a kids bunk room (6 beds and a convertible couch).             The SpaceThe recently restored historic Washington Melson House, located at 206 Locust St. is a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath vacation cottage that is a short walk from all museums, parks, restaurants, churches and shops in St. Michaels! The house was built around 1840 by Washington Melson, a sailor, believed to be one of two individuals who voted for Abraham Lincoln in the presidential election of 1860. The house was originally built at only 16 feet wide but enlarged to the current width soon thereafter. The first floor of the original portion of the Melson House includes a living room and a dining room. To the rear of the original house on the first floor is a kitchen area which opens up by French doors to an outdoor patio. Also connected to the kitchen is a large family room with a queen sleep sofa. There is a half bath off the family room. The second floor of the original portion of the Melson house is a large bedroom having two twin beds. The second floor to the rear of the house (accessed by a different staircase than that in the original portion), contains the master bedroom having a queen size bed. The truly special and recently restored historic Thomas Blades House is centrally located in the Historic District of St. Michaels, a few steps from the Town park with magnificent waterviews. Museums, shops (including grocery stores and a drug store), restaurants, churches, parks, tennis courts, Town pool. library, the weekly farmer's market, and other attractions are within walking distance of the house! The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated with period and reproduction furniture. Perfectly suited for a small family or one or two couples. The house is also an ideal romantic getaway for a couple. The large family room and big back porch create an ideal environment for relaxing! Getting AroundMost people drive to Saint Michael's, but if you should fly into BWI or the Easton airport their is a shuttle called the Bayrunner that you could use. Once you get to SM's, you can walk or ride bikes, no car is necessary. Other Things to NoteLife at Saint Michael's is relaxing. If your a young family with a baby, you will not have to pack back up overtime once you have unpacked, just use the stroller and walk everywhere. Because of Talbot County laws regarding rentals, only the number of guests indicated on your inquiry are allowed overnight (not to exceed 8 overnight guests), and no more than 12 on the premises during the day. Interaction with GuestsCheckout procedures: Please clean & put away dishes; report any broken/soiled items; in summer turn thermostats off, in winter set to 55; turn off all inside/outside lights and ceiling fans; lock all doors, close all windows; clean grill & fireplace if used; place towels in laundry room; leave linens on bed for service pickup; if you move heavy furniture, return to their original position. Place trash at end of driveway for Tuesday am pickup. Dogs (No other pets) are allowed only if agreed to by owner and the pet fee has been paid ($25/day per dog up to 2 dogs). The most popular excursion is to take the bikes 8 miles over to the ferry landing at Bellevue and catch the ferry over to Oxford. Other Things to NoteWe have several cats on site, but not in the inn.
