The SpaceMountain View Inn was first established in 1879 in Bridport Vermont. Two king rooms are 18x18 with couches in each room. The Rose Room has a fainting couch that will take you back to the " old victorian days."There is a smaller double bed room next to the bathroom. I am a nurse and so I wash and change all the bedding and blankets after each guest. Our linens and towels are luxurious and you will appreciate this when you retire for the day. Each room has water and snacks for your enjoyment. We have a working organic dairy farm. The stay at our Inn includes a "farm tour" where you can see us milk the cows, see over 100 chickens and help feed the calves. I am an Oxford Punch Needle instructor and Rug hooking classes are offered with advance notice. We are located in the Champlain Valley the "land of milk and honey" and are 8 miles from the new Lake Champlain bridge. Breakfast during the week will be continental with home made muffins or breads and lots of coffee and tea. I offer a full breakfast on weekends which includes our farm raised eggs. My organic homemade blue ribbon jelly and jams are always included with breakfast. We are close to Middlebury College, Fort Ticonderoga, and the Mount Independence site. Middlebury and Vergennes are close by and offer wonderful restaurants and shopping for your enjoyment. WiFi internet is available. The bedrooms are upstairs and a full bath with a shower/ bathtub for your use. The bathroom is appointed with Vermont made soaps, a hair dryer and many toiletries to make you feel pampered and there is another Victorian half bath downstairs. There is a "common room" downstairs for your group to gather and visit with a wide screen T V for your use. The deck with the mountain view is available for you to eat outdoors or just sit and enjoy the breathtaking views. The front door of the house will be your own personal entrance so you can come and go as you please. There is plenty of parking available for all the guests. Our guests are welcome to visit with the family as much as they wish. My mother, Ruby, who is 90 years young is always there to help you feel welcome. Many guests want to talk to "farmer Jerry" about our organic dairy farm and you are welcome to have him take you on a tour to see our new farm stand and the organic dairy. The baby calves are so adorable and you can see them up close. We have 200 chickens and you can see our tractor museum with over 40 antique tractors. We are located on a main road, RT 22A but we are quiet enough to hear birds singing and see wildlife. We are surrounded by dairy farms and you can see the farm activities, planting and haying from our deck. There is a general store within walking distance where you can get delicious store prepared grinders, salads and home baked goods. This store, Pratt's, has been voted the best country store in Addison County. It is the best of both worlds for the traveler. Lovely, quiet lake front cottage/house directly on Lake Champlain- Peak beauty- Late September/October !! The leaves, picking apples, crisp cool nights... the best best time to visit!!! 13 miles from Middlebury-map provided is often wrong and puts the property near the bridge. We are 5 miles south of the bridge.!! very isolated compared to most lakefronts- with loud parties, water skiers, etc.=== no, this is NOT an action center! spectacular mountain views and sunsets .Wireless, lots of books and art- NO TV. beautiful slate beach with good fossil hunting. easy walk down to the beach- no steep stairs... Just a wonderful place to relax, read, canoe, hike, grill out. It is not a hotel, okay? It's funky. No uptight people allowed! x A simple martini or cup of tea on the porch watching the sunset is what most guests that are happy here prefer! I"m an artist, so it has a bit of a funky touch to it-- i.e. a window, albeit curtained that opens to the smaller bedroom- my oil paintings, too many philosophical books. Fully stocked kitchen, everything you could possibly need at the cottage. Colorful, happy, lovingly appointed. Ask that people bring their own linens, double bed, single bed sheets, and towels. But if it's a pain in the neck, don't worry about it! No laundromat on premises and cleaning lady balks at the task.!! Lots of blankets!! House stays very cool, even when it's quite hot outside, so I provide fans and there IS an A.C. unit in the shed which can cool the whole house in ten minutes but have never needed it in 30 years. Lake breeze is amazing. BUT the A.C. is there just in case, so property manager can install for you if for some reason it gets to be 100 degrees.!!!! Great fishing- right off the shore. canoe. flat bottom boat if requested. Hiking Snake Mountain, nearby, is an all of your life memory. google directions. Great biking, directly on Vermont Bike Route- Yes, wireless works great. Comfy good mattresses. sounds of the crickets and brook that runs behind the house--- you are AWAY from it all. At this very moment I am sitting in the bedroom listening to the waves, WAVES, sounds like the ocean in the wind, and there is the achingly beautiful moan of a train whistle across the lake- where Amtrak heads up to Montreal. Only 4 open cottages on the lakefront dirt road- a dead end road- quiet- wonderful that way... Up on the hill a little studio which I keep for myself sometimes has a friend staying for quiet reading time. Behind a fence with their own beach and canoe, you won't know anyone is there unless they leave a note to invite you for a cocktail. I personally like SOMEBODY nearby- for a cup of sugar or just an emergency.... radical isolation is unnerving. Take it from me! Bridport is farm country, as is all of Vermont, but this is the Champlain Valley, great new farms with fabulous Vermont cheeses, and now grapes! Speaking of grapes and wine, this is micro-brewery central- some people come just to hop jump from one brewery to the next. I've been advertising on another site and booking with them for 10 years, have 20 great reviews on THAT site, none here yet. Just started with Flipkey and it's a great company. I digress....Once in a while you WILL smell a slight manure fragrance when they fertilize the fields, usually 3 times a year. If this country smell bothers you, or a cobweb, or a worm on the porch from the rain, this is not the place for you! This is not a Holiday Inn.! It is also really not just a stale staid rental. It's homey and as I mentioned lovingly appointed on all fronts. I love to float in the lake on a raft, but there can be weeds some years, and you must wear water shoes- it's a slate beach and there are shells, etc. sometimes sharp. The cottage is so close to the lake, almost IN the lake, that it is on a septic system- so a little extra care needed- just respect really! Plenty of hot water for a good bath- or shower- Bridport is a tiny Vermont town- with only one country store, which carries everything almost, but Middlebury is where you'll go for major shopping and eating out.... or over the bridge to New York and the Revolutionary Forts, lots of fabulous history over there. Great walking. The cottage is clean and neat- but not sterile, only because there are knick knacks, for example a wooden box with three antique vases positioned on the book shelf ( artist here!) so there is NO WAY everything can be dust free- especially on the lake in the country!!! - You can't keep a cobweb from appearing over night. Believe it or not, I have had people complain about a cobweb. I would rather not rent, EVER, then have people here who aren't happy. It's a happy, lovely, special place, period, and it deserves to be loved for what it is.... No horse flies or those black flies, thank God, breeze keeps them at bay as well as the mosquitos. A bit of bug spray and you are ready for a beach bonfire or a float in the canoe at night for a gaze at the stars. Professional private Ashtanga Yoga instructor available, and masseuse.

The SpaceThe apartment is in the heart of the village, and while you can walk to the grocery store, diner, and wine shop (among other places) it is at the foothills of the Adirondacks, so most streets are on a steep hill. Guest AccessThe apartment is fully available for your use, and is accessed from the back of the house. There are about 10 steps to the 2nd floor apartment. Please park behind the garage, or parallel and close to the front of the garage, as I allow my neighbor to use my driveway for access to his property. Interaction with GuestsI will greet you at the start of your visit, and am available via text throughout your stay for any questions you may have. The NeighborhoodFoote's Port Henry Diner is one of the oldest surviving diners in the country. Built by Ward & Dickinson in 1926, it has been in the same location in Port Henry (next to the Mac's grocery store) since 1933. It was renovated in 2000 and received an award at that time from Adirondack Architectural Heritage. Don't miss it for breakfast or lunch, open Wed-Sun, 7-2. Getting AroundThe train between NYC and Montreal stops in Port Henry - if you are arriving by train, please let me know and I'd be glad to pick you up at the station. Other Things to NoteThe apartment is above our Craft Gallery and Resale shops, which are open Wednesday-Saturday, 12-5, or other times by prior arrangement.

Located right on Lake Champlain in Addison Vermont, we are pleased to offer this wonderful vacation property for the first time. This property was purchased in 2015 with the intent of offering a unique waterfront property with ample capacity for large family occasions. The year round home is owned by a Connecticut builder, he and his family have created an upscale vacation home, specifically designed to take advantage of the breathtaking views of the lake as well as the landscaped grounds that surround the home. This house is nearly 3000 square feet. While the original log home has been completely renovated with a gorgeous post and beam addition added to provide a state of the art kitchen, living room , a large master suite, a large suite facing the grounds, as well as a bathroom that is shared by both suites. As you enter the lake house, you cant help but notice that the flooring is spectacular with Vermont maple flooring throughout. The custom cherry kitchen provides for the needs of nearly all levels of cooking skills, with stainless steel appliances, double oven, as well as a gas cooktop located on an island with Cherry cabinets and a gas cooktop. The design of the kitchen allows for wonderful flow and utility, making a fantastic spot to hang out before, during and after family meals. Each bedroom has a wonderful view to sit and enjoy the Vermont wildlife that abounds. There is also a large family room on the cabin side that provides a nice comfortable atmosphere, separate from the living room and kitchen. Plenty of Places to Relax! The house sits right on the lake. From the lake house, you can sit anywhere on the 70 feet of porch/deck and enjoy the lake. For those that choose to be more adventurous, On the beach we have 100 feet of dock, located in a protected bay. Safe for swimming, fishing, boating, or just enjoying the sunsets. Great for families! We offer free use of our row boat and kayaks. While staying here, you will certainly enjoy the privacy you are seeking. However, the location is perfect for getting out and doing things. The Marina is close by for those of you who may want to keep your boat there. One of the areas busiest restaurants is only 1/4 mile away. They make a great breakfast! Additionally, for our guests, we have a list of restaurants we have found worth adventuring out. Burlington is only 32 miles north, Middlebury is 18 miles to the west, Port Henry New York is right across the lake, an easy drive using the bridge. I've been told that Lake Champlain is one of the top 5 bass fishing lakes in the United States. In early summer, they hold a national tournament, which is fun to be a part of. Less than a half a mile away this spring, a record breaking lake trout was caught within site of our dock. Maybe you could be the next record breaker! Comments that I have received back from travelers that have stayed at this lake house have described it as "stunning", "majestic", and "relaxing". We allow pets on a case by case basis and charge an additional cleaning fee at the end. Additionally, we do require pet insurance which is built into our fee structure
