Music, books, wifi and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom/laundry are yours for morning coffee ritual or for gourmet pasta sauce making. And if that's not your speed, you're walking distance to 17 food outlets in Gardenvale's village just 5 minutes walk away! As a guest, expect a great night's sleep, quiet, safe, private even though street life is just a short walk away. If you don't want to go out during the day, you can sit in the large garden and follow the sun with a book or write emails/letters or perhaps just sit and dream a bit. Turn left and you're 15mins. stroll to an old world cemetery. 15mins. is also strolling distance to 3 villages with fabulous cafes, restaurants, cinemas, shopping, the lot! Buses and trains are out the front or 5mins. walk away. We like talking in walking distances. IN THE 'HOOD The beach, beautiful streets and architecture for walks and live acoustic entertainment at The Winelarder are all just up the road. Gardenvale is safe, central and friendly. Oh and did I mention one of THE BEST coffee outlets is 1 block away? Omar & The Marvellous Coffee Bird are constantly awarded coffee roasters and servers. If you want something more edgy, 3 stops away is Balaclava (East St Kilda) where you'll find MonkDharmaBuddha for amazing vegetarian, You'll need (URL HIDDEN) off the radar. The Wall for downtown graffiti, edgy, communal food imbibing. Creatives meeting retail on Carlisle St. Or if you want something more upmarket, 2 stops in the other direction gets you to a Laurent Patisserie, Laura Ashley, diamonds, Minimax, The Pantry cooking classes. There are collectables and bespoke gifts and flea market furniture in addition to a genuine department store! Nicols has been in Gardenvale/Brighton since the 1920's and might just be the last true department store in a shopping village! We are Melbourne's smallest suburb yet Gardenvale is home to an inordinate number of wellness practitioners. If your inflight experience was less than glamorous, there are physios, chiros, masseurs, cranial sacral, podiatrists, yoga, etc.therapists on your doorstep. Oy Vey! PUBLIC TRANSPORT will connect you with our neighbouring areas: Brighton, Elwood, St Kilda, Monash University, Elsternwick, Caulfield. Trains direct to the city on the Sandringham line will connect you with regional Victorian locations such as Geelong, Lorne, Warnambool, Daylesford, Mornington Peninsula. I love living close to the beach and Central Melbourne, near the best Melbourne attractions and surrounded by greenery, cycling tracks, parks, excellent access to transport facilities etc etc. I believe that Brighton offers the best lifestyle and livability in Melbourne. Of course, Melbourne is number one livable city in the world - so here we go! Our house is a 7 bedroom restored resort type Victorian mansion, with all modern conveniences, in the heart of Brighton. We have a spa, pool, beautiful garden and veggie patch. The house comes with 4 + meter ceilings, bay windows, huge kitchen with all appliances you can think of, and a BBQ veranda. We live close to North Road beach and many parks. It takes 10 minutes to get to the city by train and 25 mins by car. We have a 17 year old daughter, 27 year old son who lives away, and two dogs - a pug and a groodel. They are old dogs and are peaceful and loving,. They live in the front garden cabana. We are professional people with great family values. We love travelling and meeting new people. Our home is large and often feels empty - we would love to fill it with people!

The SpaceMy home is situated only a few minutes drive (or a 20 minute walk) from the bay where you will discover the famous Brighton Bathing Boxes. If you choose to walk, it will be through the delightfully leafy Brighton and you can go via some of the best strip shopping and restaurant precincts in Melbourne. The city is within easy reach via tram or train, both of which are a few minutes walk away. The trams are good for those who want a more leisurely pace and wish to take in the sights, whereas the train service is only a 20 minute journey to Flinders St in the CBD. The SpaceCliff and Liz would like to welcome you to our lovely home situated in a quiet, leafy street, close to Port Phillip Bay, Landcox Park, shops, restaurants, a bike and walking path that runs along the bay, all the way into the city - a great days activity. Your upstairs room is bright and airy with queen bed and built in robes. The windows can be opened for fresh air and the there are black-out curtains. Your room has remote controlled ceiling fan, and new, wall mounted TV with DVD player and there is also clock radio with ipod dock on your bedside table. You have your own spacious, private bathroom with shower. Bed linen, bath robes, towels and hair dryer are provided. the whole house has central heating/cooling and Free wifi. The downstairs of the house has 2 lounge areas and 2 dining areas both inside and outside so you may join us of an evening or relax in your own space. Breakfast is provided for you in our private, sunny courtyard dining area where you can enjoy cereals, fresh fruit juice, fruit salad, bacon and eggs, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or other sumptuous fare. We love cooking so offer other meals on request that are very reasonably priced. We are seasoned travelers ourselves and know the value of a good home cooked meal. Public transport abounds with tram and bus stops within a 2 min. walk from our front door. The trains are a 15 min. walk away but if you don't want to walk, we will do our best to ensure we can drive you the short distance to a station. The tram is on a scenic route that gives you access to several popular bars, restaurants and shopping strips including the famous Chapel St., Prahran, and trendy Fitzroy St., St.Kilda. It stops near to the Alfred Hospital, travels through Melbourne city centre via Federation Square and up Swanston St. terminating its route at Melbourne University. We are in Melbourne's Zone 1 area. which means cheapest fares. We currently have 2 MYKI cards (saves you the initial purchase price - $17 each) that you may use during your stay. The bus takes you directly to Chadstone shopping centre which attracts ov(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) tourists a year. Public transport will also take you to and from Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport. (Will advise details on this and other, after booking received) Ember, our guest friendly dog (spoodle) also welcomes guests. She is a very quiet, non shedding, sweet member of our household who spends most of her day asleep. We want our guests to feel at home and relaxed. The SpaceIt is quiet but close to the beach, the public transport and busy Glenhuntly road with all the cafes and nice restaurants. Guest AccessYou will enter an alley and then will open a gate to access the villa. Interaction with GuestsWe might not be around at that time but our neighbours are never too far and are very nice people so feel free to ask them anything. We have another bedroom that we will use to store our personal belongings. It will be locked. The NeighborhoodOur close neighborhood is really nice and quiet but if you want to have a good dinner, you can walk (15 min) or drive to Glenhuntly road and you will have plenty of options. There is also a Coles open 24/7 15 min walk away. Getting Around8 minutes walk to the Gardenvale train station. Other Things to NoteWe have an indoor cat, her name is Bindi. She is a bit shy and it might take a few days for her to be herself around you. She mostly stay in the living room and her litter is in the bathroom. If you're staying at ours, we will ask you to look after her: giving her food and love every day and change her litter once a week. If you don't want her to stay in your bedroom, just close the door.

Brighton is an exclusive beachside area only 11Km from the heart of Melbourne - the most stylish and sophisticated city in Australia. Your Room Your room is very large and comfortable with two single beds. It faces east so the room is bathed in sunshine in the mornings. The room has a flatscreen TV and wifi, so you can stay connected with the world. You will have your very own large bathroom with large fluffy towels and guest toiletries, plus your own separate toilet. Breakfast A delicious continental breakfast can be provided for $5 per person, which includes gourmet breads, homemade jams, local honey, fresh Nespresso coffee or a selection of teas. Alternatively, the cafe scene is robust and you have a huge selection of cafés in the immediate neighbourhood. The Area The beaches, Royal Brighton Yacht Club, sea baths, Brighton's unique and famous beach bathing boxes, magnificent golf courses (public and private), fabulous shopping, cafes, fine dining and theatres are all right at your doorstep and within walking distance. Walking and bike tracks will take you for many miles along the beach and around the Bay. You will enjoy sighting the dolphins of Port Phillip Bay, penguins, swans and other wonderful wild life and flora. I call it my back yard. :-) The sporting precinct, with the MCG and Melbourne Park (home to the first grand slam each year) is on the train line and only 10 minutes away. The theatre district, casino, Botanic Gardens and the unique Melbourne lane ways are all easy to get to and within 15-20 minutes of your Melbourne home. Transport The railway station is a mere 300 metres and trains run every 10 minutes. The ride is only 18 minutes to the city and as our trains run above ground, you can enjoy the urban scenery along the way. This apartment block is secure, quiet and peaceful.         The SpaceThis is a compact secure apartment with a balcony that overlooks the courtyards of first floor residents. Facing east, it receives the morning sun and the outdoor setting is ideal to use for a light breakfast meal. There are modern European kitchen, laundry and bathroom appliances throughout. The reverse cycle air conditioner in the lounge services the entire apartment. The lounge also boasts a 42 inch TV with DVD player for nights in. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and built-in robes. Although the second bedroom does not have a window, there is a futon which can be extended into a queen-sized temporary spare bed. Guest AccessThe building is located on the corner of Bay Street and Male Street. A secure underground car space is included. The apartment has video intercom and only residents of the third floor can access the third floor. Interaction with GuestsDavid and Jill live in the country and may not be available to meet guests face to face. This apartment is our city space when we are in Melbourne. When we are unavailable our daughter Kerrie will greet guests. However we will always be available on email or phone to respond to any queries guests may have. The NeighborhoodThe shopping strip is fantastic. Great cafes, bars and restaurants. Our favourite for a lazy cup of coffee or weekend breakfast is Rocksalt, 1 minute walk after turning left from the front door. Over the road from our building is a bakery and cake shop (Wild Holly Cakes) with great pies, pasties and cakes. Coles supermarket is on the ground floor and is very handy for a quick stock up of bread, milk etc. There are two cinemas in the local area. In Bay Street just past the railway station on the left hand side (when walking from the apartment) is the Brighton Cinema. This is a wonderful complex where guests can enjoy alcoholic refreshments while watching a movie. The other cinema, the Palace Dendy, is in Church Street Brighton. This is a 10 minute walk. There are lots of marvellous restaurants & boutique shops in Church Street. The beach is a pleasant 2 kilometre walk west down Bay Street. Getting AroundThe Brighton North train station is 200 metres down the road. The city is 20 minutes away via the Sandringham line and trains run every 10 minutes at peak times. The beach is a pleasant 2 kilometre walk west down Bay Street. Other Things to NoteA collapsible clothes airer is in the wardrobe of the main bedroom. When departing the unit at the end of a stay guests are requested to leave the key and the fob on the breakfast bar and close and lock the front door to the apartment. The door will lock automatically when closed if the snib on the inside of the door is turned horizontally. You will still have access to the ground floor via the lift. If you have used the car park (B3) it will be necessary to remove the car from the car park in B3 before leaving the key and fob in the unit.
