The SpaceWriter? Skiier/Snowboarder? Outdoor Adventurist? Or just looking to get away? This cabin is a perfect place for it all. Situated right on the Salmon River, with high-speed internet and all the amenities, this is the perfect place to get away in comfort. Wake-up in the morning to the sound of the river, fire up the espresso machine and head to the mountain for some skiing, or grab a tube from the shed and float the river. Or maybe do some fly-fishing and throw them on the grill for dinner, or put them in the smoker for snacks. When the day is done, open a bottle of wine, grab a book from the bookshelf, and sit by the fireplace. Or make a fire in the outdoor fire pit and make smore's with friends. It's your adventure. With three bedrooms, 2 queen beds, 2 bunk beds, and a sofa bed out in the living, you can bring your friends and kids. A fully stocked kitchen with chef-grade equipment and a stack of board games will keep you in food and fun. And of course, don't forget your dog. This place is pet friendly - there's even biscuits on top of the fridge for them! So reserve early, availability is limited, and get away for a bit.

The SpacePinery is a 1937 vintage cabin in Brightwood, Oregon that we adore...and we want to share it with others that crave a quiet mountain retreat along the Sandy River. Pinery sits on a 1/3 acre in the woods with a pretty trail to the Sandy River, just 15-20 minutes from skiing, numerous hiking trails and historic Timberline Lodge. Pinery is convenient to great restaurants, too. The cabin is just an hour from Portland, so it's the perfect retreat for skiing, hiking, playing golf, and for anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the woods! The 800 sq ft cabin has tons of vintage charm with all the comforts of home. It sleeps up to four (two bedroom lofts--twin and double beds--and a first floor bedroom with a queen bed.) It also has a huge stone fireplace and a modern kitchen with dining area. We have free wifi, hammocks, games, books, and a DVD screen (no TV or cable) with movies. Pinery is pet friendly for one well-behaved dog. It is not a good place for puppies that chew. Our place is special and quirky--lots of old open railings and a catwalk (!)--so it's not a good choice for children or those not confident of their footing on stairs, and there is absolutely no smoking allowed. Interaction with GuestsWe always greet our guests at the cabin to walk through the quirks of the place, but otherwise you have the place to yourselves.

The SpaceIncredible views and private, natural, riverfront setting. The house has views from most rooms, a cook's kitchen, river rock fireplace and hot tub. We're close to skiing/tubing, hiking, golf, spa, mountain bike trails and restaurants but it feels like you're a million miles away. Guest AccessThe house and yard (with basketball hoop), cable, internet, hot tub and river/beach (seasonal). Interaction with GuestsOnly upon check-in/check-out. Caretaker nearby to help if needed. The NeighborhoodVery private, dead-end street in mountain/forest setting. Walkable to basics (Brightwood Store/Tavern). Getting AroundNo public transit to speak of. There is a bus to Sandy, but you really need a car out this way. Other Things to NoteUp and down river views, numerous covered areas for people and cars (to enjoy the outside if it's raining), no houses in the view, ample wildlife on the island across from the house (we call it Discovery Channel from the kitchen table).

The SpaceOur CHARMING CABIN is finished with natural wood both inside and outside. This TINY CABIN is big on EFFICIENCY and COZINESS. Vaulted ceilings give it a spaciousness. We are sure you will find this to be the best RUSTIC RETREAT ever. You can simply RELAX and ENJOY being in our cabin. We love our little cabin and are proud to share it with you. It is a sweet home base from which to access all the nature of the Mt. Hood area. INSIDE OUR CABIN: Cooling: AIR CONDITIONING in the cabin for hot summer. Heating: In the winter the cabin is usually kept warm enough with the free-standing OIL HEATER that is in the living room. Keeping it set at 5 or 6 does the trick. If you need extra or more rapid heat use the CENTRAL HEATING system. The thermostat is just above the pegs on the wall opposite the front door. Kitchen: We remodeled kitchen in May 2016. Gadgets include: 2 INDUCTION COOKTOP, small MICROWAVE OVEN, electric HOT WATER KETTLE, POTS and PANS, small TOASTER OVEN, wooden box under the bed has RICE COOKER, stove top PRESSURE COOKER, Cuisinart PANINI GRILL, AIR POPPER, . To make COFFEE there is a FRENCH PRESS, stove top ESPRESSO MAKER, and a DRIP FILTER. The under the counter REFRIGERATOR is equipped with an ice box that will make a tray of ice but is pretty wimpy when it comes to ice cream. Please do not adjust the setting as it will freeze all the fresh produce. Bedroom: There is A FULL SIZE BED and 3 TWIN BUNKS in the bedroom. There are sheets, pillows and comforters on each bed. The most delightful surprise to us has been how EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE these MATTRESSES are. We were skeptical of them at first and were pleasantly amazed that they are every bit as comfortable (even more so!) than our new cushy mattress. The FUTON in the living room is a queen size mattress with its bedding stored on the shelf above the bathroom door and the comforter is in the wooden box under the full size bed. Bathroom: Our bathroom is such a gem. There is a Japanese style BIDET TOILET SEAT that will spoil you. It has a warm water spray and air dryer. Everyone is so soothed with this. Then the SHOWER has a tankless, on demand water heater that provides wonderful warm water and delivers continually as long as you need it. A great thing to anticipate when returning from those exhilarating outdoor activities. Deck: The living area is expanded with the ample deck that my husband built a couple years ago. There is a PICNIC TABLE to use on those sunny days when you want to relax outside and eat while sipping a nice glass of wine. The views around are so lush. Guest AccessAs our guest, Mt. Hood Village offers indoor POOL, SAUNA, HOT TUB (Mo-Th/6:30am-8pm, Fr/6:30am-9pm, Sa/8am-9pm, Su/8am-8pm), playground, river walks, senior center, cafe/bakery (Call for hrs). Just 50 feet up our little street is a LAUNDROMAT and EXTRA SHOWER room (Open 24/7). All in all Mt. Hood Village is EXTREMELY FAMILY and KID FRIENDLY. Interaction with GuestsOur cabin is for you to enjoy. We respect your privacy and hope you will make yourselves at home. If you have any questions or concerns you may contact us by phone or email anytime. Also, our friends/neighbors (Linda and Howard) can assist you. Most of the neighbors are permanent residents so please be courteous and respectful of our neighbors during your stay, and please leave our home just as you found it. The NeighborhoodOur village is surrounded by BLM land and is nestled in the FOREST with plenty of WILDLIFE. We appreciate escaping the city and the numerous opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation that are abundant. There are over 700 HIKING TRAILS, MOUNTAIN CLIMBING, CYCLING and one of the best in OREGON'S MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS, FISHING, CANOEING, BIRDWATCHING, and GOLFING. Year around SKIING(our favorite) and SNOWBOARDING at TIMBERLINE LODGE is only half hour drive away plus in the summer there is an ALPINE SLIDE at SKI BOWL, Government Camp.
