Hi, I am a friendly caring person who has a passion for different cultures. I live with my two doggies and one very old, but friendly, cat, so you will have to be an animal lover to live here. That being said they animals do not bother anyone and I make sure I clean every single day to keep everything nice and fresh. Cooking is a favourite past time of mine and I love to cook all different types of foods. There is always something to learn from students. The price quoted includes a light breakfast, but for an additional charge I can provide other meals if requested.

The SpaceWe are very excited about launching our new refurbished loft, affectionately called the "Scandi Loft" by our recent guests and we think that name sums it up perfectly. The loft is beautifully light and airy, flooded with lots of natural light from every angle. It's also very warm and cosy and the open plan layout makes it great social and communal space. We've chosen lots of new stylish, white wooden furniture and like our other lofts at Paintworks the "Scandi loft" has got its fair share of mod cons, gadgets and lots of those little touches to make for a more relaxing and comfortable stay. You can probably also see from the pics we've gone a little crazy on the prints and art work too. Every wall has at least one (slightly quirky) thing to look at. We absolutely love spending time in the "Scandi Loft" with family and friends and we're sure you will too. Highlights also include: 42" smart TV Virgin TV Wireless broadband - up to 80MB Brand new furniture throughout Great communal dining area with large table and benches Bluetooth speaker and digital radio Book Collection DVD Player with DVD Blu-ray collection (on request) Free allocated parking space 24 hour on site security Guest AccessFully equipped kitchen with kettle, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Two double bedrooms with hotel-quality linen provided (changed weekly). Brand new beds and super comfy new mattresses. Bedroom 1 has a large wardrobe and French window onto a Juliet balcony. Bedroom 2 boasts a cool original 1930s Critall window Iron, ironing board, hairdryer Bathroom with walk-in shower and bath South facing private terrace Allocated private parking space Gated community with 24 hour on-site security Interaction with GuestsWe live close by so will almost certainly be around to welcome you and say a quick hello. Other than that, we'll certainly leave you to it (unless you need us). The NeighborhoodThe "Scandi Loft" is one of four loft apartments we own at Paintworks, a fantastic location to stay whilst in Bristol. Just minutes from Temple Meads Railway Station. Loft 421 is right in the middle of Paintworks, a great and lively place to stay in whilst you are in Bristol. Situated just on the River Avon it's an area full of live/work spaces, film companies, digital agencies and design studios alongside two great restaurants (one an American style Airstream Diner) all just a stones throw away from the city centre. There's also lots of parks and green spaces to explore very close by. Getting AroundThe main bus route straight to the train station or the city centre or to Bath leaves from the road directly opposite Paintworks. It takes approximately 5 minutes to drop you off outside Temple Meads Railway Station or is just 10 minute bus trip to the centre of Bristol. Getting to Bath by bus takes approx. 30 minutes. Other Things to NoteWe can accommodate one extra person on a camp bed. Let us know before you book. We also have three other unique loft apartments based very close to each other at Paintworks. Click on my profile to see the other loft listings. Any questions or queries please just drop me a message. If you'd like to use the loft as a film location or for a photography shoot please get in touch before you book.

(Does not apply to any booking that includes a weekend) A cabin with a living room with a very comfortable and very big sofa bed for 2 and a small bedroom with a small double bed. The lodge has a kitchen corner, bathroom with shower and a private little terrace. In the middle of the herb and vegetable garden there stands a lodge with a bathroom with shower, a small bedroom with a small double bed and a living room/bedroom with a large sofa bed that pulls out with next to no effort and sits several people comfortably during the day, converting into a full size double-bed at night. You have your own front door entrance and a little private patio at the back, facing the garden with some vegetables and herbs (hence Thyme Lodge). You have your own purpose built kitchen in the corner of the living room including fridge (with freezer compartment), sink, two burner cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is an A-Z in the Lodge which you can use to find your way around Bristol and leaflets with local attractions etc. I am happy to point you in the right direction too. There is a set of playing cards and a memory game and a small TV with a DVD player. You have your own parking space off-road if needed. The lodge is alarmed so your posessions are protected. You have unlimited WiFi access, a small kitchen with 2 in-built cooking rings, a fridge and a microwave, toaster, kettle, etc. It is decorated to a good standard and help from myself in the main house is always available. The SpaceThe room is large, bright, comfortable and quiet with a large ensuite shower room. A travel cot is available. Guest AccessYou are welcome to use the living room and the kitchen. Most guests seem to bring a laptop or tablet and use the internet to watch TV, Netflix, etc. We have high speed fibre optic broadband with unlimited downloads. However, if you don't have that facility you are welcome to use the TV in the living room and join in with what anyone else may be watching. I tend not to watch a lot of TV, so the living room is often available. Interaction with GuestsI work from home most days at the moment and often work in my home office in the evenings. There may be another guest in the house in another room, or my son may be home from university. On two days a week I look after my little granddaughter during the day. The NeighborhoodWe are not in the centre of Bristol, but it is easy to get into Bristol and Bath by car - there is easy access to the M4 and the Cotswolds and we are particularly close to Emmersons Green and the Bristol & Bath Science Park. With regard to parking, you can park in the same street - you will definitely have somewhere to park close to the house. Please check the map carefully on this website - it shows clearly what area the house is in. The location is ideal for some people, but if you are looking for something central and you want to be able to walk to shops and restaurants, this is not the right place for you! Getting AroundThere is a bus about 10 minutes walk away that goes into the centre of Bristol. Please note, however, that on Sundays and Bank Holidays, buses are less frequent. Please note also that it is not easy to get into Bath by bus from my house. To do so, you would need to go into Bristol and catch a bus or train to Bath from there. We are, however, very close indeed to the Bristol - Bath cycle path. It takes me 20 - 30 minutes to cycle into Bristol and about 40 minutes to cycle to Bath. (It takes my son much less than that!) If you bring your own bikes, you can store them in my garage. The nearest bike rental place is called Webbs of Warmley, although it is now located in a place called Willsbridge. Serious cyclists can cycle from here over into Wales, down to Cheddar gorge and into the Cotswolds. The Two Tunnel Greenway cycling route near Bath, which includes the longest cycling tunnel in the UK was described by the Independent as "one of the most scenically varied and sightseeing-rich couple of hours of cycling anywhere in Britain". Other Things to NoteThis is an excellent base from which to visit both Bristol and Bath, as well as beautiful places such as Westonbirt Arboretum, Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Dyrham Park, villages such as Castle Coombe and Lacock and, further afield, the Gower peninsula, the Vale of Neath waterfalls and places such as St Fagan's or Big Pit, all in South Wales. All this assumes that you are coming by car. If you are relying on public transport, it is easy to get into the centre of Bristol but not easy to get directly to some of the other places mentioned. I have also had a lot of guests who are here to work in Bristol or Bath, particularly in the Bristol Science Park or Emmerson's Green, which are both very close. There are no shops or restaurants within easy walking distance, but almost all the major supermarkets are only 5 or 10 minutes away by car. For places to eat, there are some good country pubs in villages nearby and I will give you details of these when you arrive. There are also some of the better-known chains such as Nando's just off the ring road about 5 -10 minutes away. Then there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Bristol and Bath, including a couple of good vegetarian restaurants. When it comes to breakfast, I provide tea, coffee, milk, muesli type cereals and bread for toast with butter and jam. You are welcome to help yourselves - I may or may not be around when you get up for breakfast.

Getting to the centre or to Bristol University is straight forward but getting to any of the UWE campus by public transport involves 2 buses and would take about 1 hour.Much less if you have a car, or are prepared to cycle, either of which option reduces journey time by at least half. Guest AccessGuests have access to upstairs bathroom, sitting room, dining room, study and their bedroom. There is generally NO access to the kitchen.I take care of any cooking, cleaning and laundry, but guests may use the microwave. Interaction with GuestsThis is my home. I live here, with two permanent lodgers, both young guys, one a student, one a recent graduate. I like to get up early but don't mind if you don't. I am happy to cook for you and do your laundry. Happy also to suggest places of interest. There is a pleasant garden. The NeighborhoodThis is a quiet family oriented area, and Jubilee Road is one of the pleasantest streets, with easy access to Trooper's Hill nature reserveand the River Avon in one direction and St George's Park, which has a big skate park as well being a lovely park, in the other. The main road is Church Road, coming up fast, with cafes, many (mostly old fashioned) pubs and a growing number of independent shops. But admittedly it has a way to go. There are three supermarkets within easy reach (Tesco, Aldi and Co-operative), and a very good deli (Southville deli), fish and chip shops and various fast food outlets, take aways (Chicken Cottage, Miss Millie's Chicken, at least 2 Indian restaurant/takeaways, pizza etc),a branch of Grounded which is a small local chain of gastro cafes (recommended for unfussy but tasty food). There is also The Lock Up which is equally good and reasonably priced.Plus the usual hairdressers, barbers and general stores, quite a few of which have an Eastern European slant (Polish, Latvian, Romanian. etc) Getting AroundVery well placed for public transport; there is a choice of 5 buses into the centre, including a direct connection to Bath in the other direction. Roadside parking available. There is an airport bus for £7 (single, £11 return) every 10 minutes from the airport to the bus and coach station in the centre, which is about 15-20 minutes away from St George, by another bus.Taxi from the centre, the main bus station, and the main train station at Temple Meads is about £7-8 for each. Taxi from the airport is about £25, unless you can book in advance which reduces the cost by about £10, but it does depend on how much luggage you have..or uber is available. Garage available as well as roadside parking. Other Things to NoteCouples are welcome for short term stays, but I prefer singles for anything longer than a long weekend. Guests do not have access to the kitchen, but I can do evening meals on request for a small fee, depending on how many people are staying, and how much airbnb has charged you - I have two permanent lodgers so I'm cooking anyway. There are lots of lovely restaurants in Bristol to try as well - there is a really good Thai restaurant within walking distance, and a Weatherspoons (a pub chain that sells pretty basic food), as well as various take aways (Indian, vegetarian, Italian, burgers, fish and chips).

Ask about special midweek deals - 2, 3 or 4 nights, Monday - Wednesday, Thursday or Monday -Friday! (Does not apply to any booking that includes a weekend) A cabin with a living room with a very comfortable and very big sofa bed for 2 and a small bedroom with a small double bed. It is suitable for up to 4 people for a shorter stay and 2 people for a longer stay. The lodge is alarmed so your posessions are protected. This place is in a very quiet area, just round the corner from a 65 acre nature reserve and at the same time, take the number 1 bus and it is just 20-25 minutes directly into the city centre. Off-road parking if needed. You have unlimited WiFi access and a television You have your own purpose built kitchen in the corner of the living room including fridge (with freezer compartment), sink, two burner cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster. It is decorated to a good standard and help from myself in the main house is always available. You have your own parking space off-road if needed. The Neighbourhood Very quiet neighbourhood, you will hear a lot of bird song though. Getting around: The bus number 1 is 2 minutes walk from the house and goes directly into the city centre. Other Things to Note: 2 minutes walk from 65 acre nature reserve and lovely Beeses Tea Gardens/Restaurant/Bar overlooking the river Avon (open from Easter until end of September only) There is an A-Z in the Lodge which you can use to find your way around Bristol and leaflets with local attractions etc. I am happy to point you in the right direction too. There is a set of playing cards and a memory game and a small TV with a DVD player. You are always welcome to help yourself to herbs from the garden when available (most of the year the following are available: Parsley, Chives, Lemonbalm, Rosemary, Valarian, Hyssop, Summer Savory, Winter Savory, Sage, Purple Sage, Curry, Lavender and of course Thyme!) At certain times of the year there are also various vegetables, loganberries and plums available. I would like you to be aware that water is expensive here and would ask you not to waste it. I would expect guests to care and respect for Thyme Lodge and leave it the way they found it. This involves having consideration for neighbours and leaving the lodge in a reasonable state. No smoking inside and no parties, sorry! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions prior to booking, always happy to help. Please let me know your approximate arrival time so I can make sure to be around smoking permitted in the garden/outside only I do not provide breakfast as this is a self-contained unit. However, there will be tea, coffee, sugar provided. I usually put a pint of milk in the fridge. Salt and Olive Oil are usually also already in the Lodge. Check-in after 2pm and check-out before 11 am so cleaning can be done but is flexible by agreement if there is nobody checking in the same day A cabin with a living room with a very comfortable and very big sofa bed for 2 and a small bedroom with a small double bed.The lodge has a kitchen corner, bathroom with shower and a private little terrace. Stunning 2 double bed "New York style" loft apartment. Large, 1000 sq ft open-plan loft in the heart of Paintworks. Dedicated 100mb broadband, Virgin TV, Playstation3, Netflix, street art, huge comfy sofas, massive dining table and benches & all the mod cons you could wish for and amazing stay! Situated in the desirable Paintworks development (Bristol's creative quarter) just a mile from the city centre and a quick a ten minute walk from the train station. Guests also enjoy free dedicated and secure parking. PARTIES We can not accommodate stage or hen parties in the loft or allow guests to have parties. GROUP BOOKINGS Please contact us if you intend to book one or more properties for the same weekend. Paintworks is an exciting and lively place to stay in whilst you are in Bristol. Situated in Brislington and alongside the River Avon it's a vibrant area full of live/work spaces, film companies, digital agencies, artists and design studios. There's also a great bar and pizza restaurant and a fantastic American style Airstream Diner who (in our opinion) do the best BLTs in town. The event space opposite hosts regular art fairs, food festivals and lots of other events open to the public across the year. If it's a quite tranquil walk you are after then just a 5 minute skip and a hop from Paintworks is the truly beautiful Arnos Vale, a 45 acre haven of peace and quiet right in the middle of the city. Or in the opposite direction, take a walk over one of Brunel's first test bridges and along the River Avon Cycle Path which (for the more ambitious) takes you straight to Bath! Unless there is a one-day gap in our calendar we will unfortunately be unable to offer a one night stay.

The SpaceThe room is both spacious and cosy, with a comfortable, king size double bed and ensuite shower room. A travel cot is available. Guest AccessYou are welcome to use the living room and the kitchen. Most guests seem to bring a laptop or tablet and use the internet to watch TV, Netflix, etc. We have high speed fibre optic broadband with unlimited downloads. However, if you don't have that facility you are welcome to use the TV in the living room or join in if anyone else is using it. Interaction with GuestsI work from home most days at the moment and often work in my home office in the evenings. There may be another guest in the house in another room, or my son may be home from university. On two days a week I look after my baby granddaughter during the day. The NeighborhoodWe are not in the centre of Bristol, but it is easy to get into Bristol and Bath by car - there is easy access to the M4 via the ring road and we are particularly close to Emmersons Green and the Bristol & Bath Science Park. Other Things to NoteThis is an excellent base from which to visit both Bristol and Bath, as well as beautiful places such as Westonbirt Arboretum, Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Dyrham Park, the Cotswolds, villages such as Castle Coombe and Lacock and, further afield, the Gower peninsula, the Vale of Neath waterfalls and places such as St Fagan's or Big Pit, all in South Wales. All this assumes that you are coming by car. If you are relying on public transport, it is easy to get into the centre of Bristol but not easy to get directly to some of the other places mentioned. I have also had a lot of guests who are here to work in Bristol or Bath, particularly in the Bristol & Bath Science Park or Emmersons Green, which are both very close. There are no shops or restaurants within easy walking distance, but almost all the major supermarkets are only 5 or 10 minutes away by car. For places to eat, there are some good country pubs in villages nearby, as well as some of the better known chains such as Nando's just off the ring road about 5 -10 minutes away. I will provide you with details of these when you arrive. Then there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Bristol and Bath, including a couple of good vegetarian restaurants. When it comes to breakfast, I provide tea, coffee, milk, muesli type cereals and bread for toast. You are welcome to help yourselves - I may or may not be around when you get up for breakfast.
