The SpaceWe sit on the mountain side with a lovely view of the Adirondak mountain from the front porch. The house sits just above Bristol, a five minute walk into town. Story Book BnB is a great place for a WRITER'S RETREAT. Melissa is very willing to give writers feedback upon request. If you wish, breakfast foods can be left outside your door so you do not have to be disturbed from you writing. There are 3 SKI resorts near by including Sugar Bush Resort. Upon request, I offer evening story telling: true/fiction. Guest AccessThere are three ski resorts within a half hour drive. There are hiking trails above the house and lovely water falls, swimming and fishing. Lake Champlain is within 20 minutes. Great music, theater, dancing. Interaction with GuestsI am available much of the time, except Wednesdays. I do come in by 9:pm. You can most often find me in the kitchen making coffee or tea in the morning (even on Wednesdays). Melissa will offer a story telling in the evenings if requested and very much encourages telling story from guest if they desire to do so. The NeighborhoodBristol is a quaint little town that is filled with many artists, musicians, dancers, small businesses and people that are conscientious about the environment and each other. We are known for our 4th of July celebrations and Bristol Harvest Festivals. We have a great Bristol Bakery as well as the well known Bobcat restaurant. Almost Home Cafe is well loved by locals. Famous Mary's at Baldwin Creek is not quite 2 miles out of town. We have a small Farmer's Market during the summers where you often will find good musicians. You might catch story telling night at Bristol Bakery or excellent music at nearby Ripton Coffee House or Lincoln Burnham Hall. Theater productions, dance performances and music in our Bristol's town hall, If you want to keep up fitness, there is yoga, nia dance, zumba dance, the fitness center, biking and hiking. Getting AroundAddison County Transit Resources (ACTR) has been providing Addison County public transportation services. In-county bus routes serve Middlebury, Bristol, Vergennes, New Haven, Ripton and more. Out of county routes take people to Burlington, Rutland and beyond.
