It has everything you need, and nothing you don't. Great place to have as a base over the summer months. Apartment sleeps 4 + 1 young child / baby at most. One bedroom with Queen bed , other bed is a very comfortable pull out sofa that sleeps two. Wireless internet USB is available if you require it. All gas and electricity bills included. Parking is on street, around my block the parking it is unrestricted and unmetered, so you can park free of charge with no time limits. As I am in Africa often, my cleaner will most probably check you in and I am contactable 24/7 throughout your stay. Check in and out times are vey flexible pending other reservations. Great cafes and restaurants nearby and convenience stores. Australia's best beaches are at the front door, Bronte, Bondi, Tamarama, Coogee all within walking distance. Easy access to Bondi Junction main shopping centre and the CIty via bus available every 5 - 10 minutes. Getting AroundAt the door step you can easily access Sydney with multiple transport options. Bus 440 direct from the door into the city, Bondi junction and Bronte beach in both directions. Other busses can take you to Coogee, Randwick and Bondi, but all are walking distance. On street parking is available, unrestricted and free.

Cafes and Shops There are a variety of delicious cafes and grocery shops at your doorstep, as well as the best bakery in Sydney (Iggy's bakery located a short distance up the road on McPherson Street). Takeaways, Restaurants and Bars Bronte Beach cafés and restaurants are a minutes' walk down the street. Grocery stores and liquor stores are within a few minutes' walk located on McPherson Street.  Parking and Transport Parking is easy when out shopping. Parking - there is one reserved parking spot on the ground floor for your vehicle. Buses and Trains - The 378 bus from Bronte Beach, via Bondi Junction (Railway Station) is just across the road and will take you 30 minutes to get to the heart of Sydney's CBD. Airport The Sydney International and Domestic airports are a 25 minutes' drive away and cost approximately $45 by taxi (longer during traffic peaks). The 378 bus which will connect you to the 400 bus at Albion Street will drop you at the airport (if you're not sure, just ask your bus driver) will take you an hour, and is easily accessible from across the road.     The SpaceThis sunny, North-facing, medium-sized room has a comfortable queen-sized bed with a view directly over Bronte beach. A clothes rack, some bookshelves and a large tall boy / chest of drawers means there's plenty of storage space for your clothes. Guest AccessFull access is available to the kitchen and living room - make yourself at home! It's a medium-sized apartment but by shutting one door it really divides in two for some extra privacy. Wifi code is simple and works well in apartment (and also free roaming around Sydney with Telstra Air!) Interaction with GuestsI'm a teacher by day (languages) but if you require any ideas about this great city, I'm also a former tour guide with heaps of knowledge about Australia too. Happy to share a cup of tea or a glass of wine to give you some itinerary ideas and update what's on over the summer months. I speak French, German, Italian and Spanish (with baby Portuguese & Japanese too). The NeighborhoodBronte is very relaxed "typical" Aussie suburb but close to the action. The coastal walk Bondi to Coogee is an amazing walk and one of Sydney's most popular attractions. Famous Bondi beach is just a beautiful stroll away. Coffee fan? 3 blue ducks cafe is one of Sydney's best; and Iggy's bakery has the best sough dough in Sydney. Getting AroundJust 2min walk up the road, is the 440 bus stop. In 10 minutes you're in Bondi Junction (for trains to city) or just stay on bus to be in central Sydney via Oxford Street ( 25mins ).

I live in the apartment, and we share the bathroom, kitchen and living areas. But during working hours the apartment is yours. There is no problem to shut the door to your room for more privacy. Bronte is Sydney's most beautiful beachside suburb. There is a beautiful park behind the beach, and a quiet local community. It is just a short bus ride to The city, and a 15 minute walk along the coastline to Bondi Beach. Off road parking is available on request. The bus to Bondi Junction and the city leaves from the beach terminus (70m away) at regular intervals. There is also a GoGet car sharing space directly in front of the apartment block. Sheets, bedding and towels provided. Guest AccessGuests will have their own bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom, kitchen and lounge room are shared. If water spills out onto the floor, please wipe this up with the washer provided. It would be appreciated to keep the apartment neat and tidy, by washing up after yourselves and using - but also leaving the rooms as you found them.

The NeighborhoodIt is quiet for sleeping, on a lovely little park, so close to a great cafe, restaurants and little shops. Easy to get into CBD and other entertainment districts like Surry Hills. Of course the best beaches in the world are so close!! Getting AroundFor Sydney the location is very good for public transport, with a bus stop 100 metres away and Bondi Junction train station 5 minutes on the bus. Bus stop for 378 and 360 (Bondi Junction) bus is 100 from the apartment and stop for many more buses are 400m away. 378 bus goes to Bondi Junction and onto Central Station (30 minutes). Bondi Junction is 5 minutes away on the bus where you can get on train to the city (less than 30 minutes to the city). 378 goes to Bronte Beach and 360 to Clovelly. Taxi from airport is approximately $35AUD or you can catch a combination of trains and/or buses to get from the airport. Other Things to NoteMid December to mid January in Australia is like August in southern Europe and has a great holiday feel; relaxing will be very easy!

It is within easy walking distance to the famous coastal walk and beautiful Bronte Beach, public transport, cafes and restaurants. Self contained, secluded Private shower and toilet, independent entry We will be happy to show the best of Bronte Beach. The cost of a taxi from the airport to Bronte will cost you around $50. Bus #440 to the city leaves from around the corner, and within 10 mins will take you to Bondi Junction, where you can, shop, eat and catch the alternate services to all parts of Sydney. You can also walk to Bondi Junction via Charing Cross, where you will find a lovely village with more shops, restaurants and pubs. The walk takes approximately 20 minutes. Bronte Beach and park has great cafes, BBQ areas, a kids playground and spectacular views. The beach itself is a small but popular recreational beach, 2 kms south of Bondi Beach and North of Coogee Beach. Access to granny flat, fitted with independent shower and toilet, microwave, toaster, kettle and basic crockery as there is no full kitchen available. Apartment Description The apartment was cut and built into the Bondi sandstone with the generous help of my 3 children and friends over 2 years. It has exposed sandstone walls with polished concrete floors & plywood timber ceilings. The apartment has an ocean and boat theme with a 40 year old timber kayak hanging on the main feature sandstone wall.A large wood carved sperm whale is on the window sill with a couple of old boat propellers, rudders and a ships steering wheel. The apartment is located below our home. Apartment Inclusions The apartment is 85 metres in size.It includes a Kitchen with gas cook top, electric oven,microwave, fridge, washing machine,dryer & kitchen table. Queen sized bed is provided in the main bedroom. The living room contains 2 three seat couches and coffee (URL HIDDEN) also has space for 3 single sofa beds if accommodation is required for a third, fourth or fifth person. Apartment Climate Because the apartment is cut into the natural sandstone rock - there is generally a different climate - cooler than outside in summer & warmer than outside in winter. It can be a humid in the apartment after rain however we have two dehumidifiers if the humidity becomes uncomfortable. The natural sandstone is designed to allow the ground water that naturally comes out of the rock run down over the face of the sandstone and drains to a catchment drain where it is pumped away to the outside. A pump system is also used to remove the shower, toilet, kitchen & washing machine waste water to the outside drainage and system. In times of heavy rain the apartment can be humid and may not be the best choice for those who suffer from Asthma. Beaches Bondi Beach - is located 4 minutes walk Tamarama Beach - is located 3 minute walk Bronte Beach - is located 10 minutes walk.Bondi Beach is the safest of the 3 local beaches and is patrolled by professional lifeguards all year around. Walks The famous Bondi to Coogee coastal walk is 3 minutes from the front doorstep.This walk takes 2 to 3 hours to complete the return journey.The walk does continue past Coogee to Maroubra for those who may want a longer walk Cafes & Shops There is the delicious "M cafe" across the road which is open 7 days a week and offers food for breakfast & lunch.There is a general store a 4 minute walk away and post office across the road also for any supplies required during your stay. Takeaways,Restaurants and Bars It is a 4 minute walk to local takeaways,restaurants,wine bars and local hotel .The famous Bondi Icerbergs club is a 5 minute walk to where you can sip a beer and dine in the bistro whilst over looking the evening sunset,surf and waves of Bondi Beach or dine in the upsatirs in the 5 star dining Icebergs restaurant. Parking The parking in our street is restricted to 2 hours during the daytime however there is unlimited parking overnight from 8pm to 8 am. Unlimited daytime parking is available in the adjoining streets - the closest being 50 meters away - however at night parking is in high demand - so finding a parking space can be up to 200 meters away . Bus & Train Regular bus services are available to Bondi Junction train station and the City from the bus stop across the road from the apartment. Bus 380 - Bondi to Bondi Junction and then onto Circular Quay in the City (30 minutes to City) Bus 381 - Bondi to Bondi Junction only (10 minute trip) Buses run every 20 minutes or so until midnight.The train trip from Bondi Junction to the city is 10 minutes with the trains running every 20 minutes or so until midnight. Airport The Sydney international and domestic airports are a 25 minutes drive away & cost approx $50 by taxi (longer during traffic peaks) & all easily accessible by public transport too.There is also the Eastern Suburbs shuttle bus service that can pick up from our address to the airport and cost $25 per person. Whilst the immediate beaches are nice and close it is a pleasant walk all the way up the coast to Bondi Beach via Bronte, Tamarama and Mackenzies Bay. Walking south via Clovelly and Gordon's Bay it's easy to get to Coogee surf beach. Getting AroundThe closest beaches (Bronte or Clovelly) are a 7 minute walk in either direction. Getting into the city is easy. Transport is only 2 streets away. Regular buses run down McPherson Street to the city, passing Bondi Junction for convenient shopping, or transfer to the trains. A local taxi rank outside the RSL ensures that there is always a cab close by.

It is on the top floor of a small three storey block. It is very peaceful but down on the street is everything you will need. Great cafes, shops and public transport. To ensure high speed internet penetrates throughout, we have two internet connections installed Natural light: In the winter months ( June July August ) there is a lack of natural light due to the aspect. Summer months ( November through March ) are lighter and brighter, although we do not get full natural light being on ground level. We are referring to southern hemisphere seasons!! Unfortunately when it rains we lack natural light even in summer which is unfortunate. Fuse box: The fuse box is on the balcony of the upstairs unit in case of power overload. it has happened once so it's handy to know that it is easily rectified. We suggest you don't use too many appliances at one time on the one circuit. The upstairs neighbour is very obliging if access is needed Beds and Cots: The residence has 2 Queen beds which sleeps 4 adult guests. We can arrange a portable cot if given advance notice. An additional foam mattress is supplied and stored under one of the beds with clean linen. Parking: There is no off street parking and parking can be difficult ( but not impossible ) in the area. Street parking is free ( unmetered and untimed ) Beware of parking in school zones during school terms as the local council is always out in full force. Outside school term is much quieter in the area. Cat: We have an outdoor cat called Ella that is usually fed and looked after by the upstairs residents in our absence. She is very human friendly and likes to be around people, so if you do not like cats you can shut her out. if you like having her around and your kids want to feed her, please let the upstairs neighbours know so she is not overfed. She is clean, low maintenance and litters outdoors only. We are flexible with her arrangements.

During a very hot day, the beaches get very busy and parking on the street could be difficult, however, with patience, you are most likely to find a free spot. 2. Is there Wifi? Yes we provide free Wifi to guests. However, we cannot guarantee your connection as this could be due to your device(s) or other issues outside our control (eg telecoms provider network). However, we will do our best to assist you with your Wifi connection. We also provide Wifi for your emails and simple internet searching and we ask guests not to use it do download large files, to use it for internet gaming, or streaming (e.g. Netflix or Youtube). 3. Can guests have an early check in or late check out? Our standard check in time is 2pm and standard check out time is 10am. This is to allow the apartment to be cleaned for the next guests and to take into account that guests prior to your stay would not check out until 10am. We can only accommodate early check ins if there are no guests staying prior and we can only advise of this 2 days prior to your check in date. It is difficult for us to accommodate late check outs as our cleaners arrive at 10am to start cleaning the apartment for the next guests. If you have a long haul flight and require the apartment early say from 7am, we suggest that you also book the night before to ensure that you can have accommodation as early as 7am. 4. What is Bronte like? Public transport access from the apartment? Bronte is one of the eastern suburbs of Sydney. The east is well known for its beaches and also being close enough to the central business district of Sydney. In terms of public transport, there is regular bus service that stops around the corner of the apartment. The main shopping centre and transport (bus and train interchange) are located in Bondi Junction which is approximately a 5 minute bus ride from the apartment. From the train interchange at Bondi Junction, it takes around 10 min or so to the City depending on the train station. As our apartment is close to the beach, there are bugs at night that could accidentally creep into the apartment from the outside. We provide bug sprays. We pride ourselves with providing clean accommodation. 5. Is there air condition or fans? There is no air condition but we provide fans in the apartment. Being very close to the beach, the apartment normally gets very good southerly winds particularly in the late afternoon and this cools the place down well. Are there rules? Yes. There are no pets allowed and also no smoking. There are cleaning rules, mainly around keeping the apartment clean and tidy during your stay. There is a list posted on the wall of the apartment. We ask guests to: 1.tidy up the kitchen after each major use; 2.not to bring sand from the beach by rinsing at allocated showers prior to returning to the apartment 3.be careful with luggage wheels and shoes (high heels) damaging the floor boards 4.keep the noise down particularly after 9pm 5.shut blinds in the lounge close when leaving for the day to protect the furniture from the sun 6.do not leave wet clothing or materials on the floor as this would cause water damage on the floor boards What are we are asking for in guests? Choice of taxi $50 approx, 400 bus stops close by, or shuttle ~ $22 p/p. To get around locally and into the city there are a variety of buses at the door depending on your destination, City, Bondi Junction, Bondi Beach, Maroubra, M50 and 10 mins from UNSW.
