Just steps away from the Squassux Marina, this charming house is overlooking the Great South Bay and surrounded by the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge. This 6500 acre refuge on the south shore of Long Island is bisected by the Carmans River; a New York state designated scenic river and one of the largest on the island.
Only an hour and a half away from the big city, our house is the place where our whole family has been spending a part of the summer for the past ten years. We are from Paris and it is one of the most vibrant unique place we know and we had the desire to open it for others !
On the ground floor you'll find a cozy living room, a billiards room and a sun porch that opens on to the large deck. View Alpacas in the distance as you walk from the deck to the swimming pool complete with an outdoor shower. Located in the quiet town of Brookhaven, a ten minute bike ride takes you to the lovely town of Bellport. Close to the Hamptons but without the feel of it and without the traffic, this home is truly a world away from the hustle bustle.
This atypical, rustic home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two outdoor cabanas provide extra sleeping space and screened porch style dining
An outdoor pool, large outdoor deck with BBQ grill, table and seating, and a wooden badminton court, 4 bikes, TV and DVD make it a great place to relax property and have fun.
Kitchen utensils and linens are provided and a washer and dryer are in the basement.

Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole house Interaction with GuestsWe are living in Paris most part of the year so the whole house will be yours completely if we're not there. Our lovely neighbor will take care of you. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is so friendly you won't believe it. You can go for long walks or use the bikes to go around. In the summer the main activity is to go to the beach on fire island which is accessible by car. The car drive is about 15 minutes. If I'm there I'll be happy to bring you to the beach with our personal boat.
Away from the city, you'll find everything you need in the lovely Bellport town which is just a few mile away. A supermarket, a wine shop, a bakery, a couple lovely restaurants and the ferry that goes to the beach and the ocean. A mile away you should check out Painters restaurant and bar. If you are with the kids, it is the perfect place to go for dinner as you can draw on the tablecloth while waiting for copulent meals to arrive. And later at night they also throw parties and concerts.
You might want to check out local farms for fresh products such as amazing tasty corn.
Also, not even a mile away, at the high school you'll find some free tennis courts. 300 feet away you'll get to the marina on one side and to the river on the other side where you can go crab fishing. Getting AroundYou can get to the house by car or by train.
From New York City, you have to take the train in Penn Station in the LIRR section. It's the train that goes to Montauk and the stop is either Patchogue or Bellport. There are more trains that stop in Patchogue but the Bellport station is closer to the house. In Patchogue's train station there are always cabs waiting. It is less than 20 dollars to the house. From Bellport's train station you might want to order a cab before arriving there because taxi are not always waiting there.
You go on the Long Island Expressway (495), exit 65 and turn right on Horseblock rd. Then right on Montauk highway. Finally, left on Old Stump rd. You go at the end of this road and you'll end up on Beaver dam rd. Our house is on this road
