The SpaceSanctuary on School Ave is just a few minutes east of I-5 (Exit 216) on the Halsey-Sweet Home Hwy (OR 228). Co-hosts Allen & Shih-Lin reside onsite. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact as much or as little with you, the guest(s), depending upon your wishes during your stay. Allen has been a local tour guide for American, Australian, Canadian, Chinese, Dutch, English, Irish, Japanese, New Zealand and Vietnamese fans desiring to see “Stand By Me” movie backdrops within short walking distances of historic downtown Brownsville. Allen speaks English, Japanese, Mandarin, and some Spanish. Shih-Lin speaks English, Mandarin, & Taiwanese. The NeighborhoodDespite its surprising proximity and quick access to major metropolitan areas, downtown historic Brownsville remains a hidden gem among many local treasures, including: the Linn County Historical Museum, the Moyer House, Pioneer Picture Gallery, Pioneer Park, the Women's Study Club Room (in the Brownsville Library), the Calapooia River, the preserved circa 1840s Alexander Kirk Cabin (inside Kirk's Ferry & Trading Post), Historic Gap Road (part of the original Oregon Territorial trail), and so much more. Getting AroundA rental car or private vehicle is recommended. Taxis from Eugene Airport charge between $70 and $85 one way. Nearest bus & rail service is BOLT Bus and Amtrak - Station - Albany, Oregon. Sanctuary on School Avenue is also located right on the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. TIP: Fellow cyclists recommend shopping at the local Dari-Market in town before making the steep 1/8 mile climb to the top of School Hill where Sanctuary on School Avenue is located.
