There are floorboards through out and lots of natural light, a large kitchen you can use for cooking, a full bathroom with toilet and also a 2nd toilet, washing machine and dryer (just ask us if you'd like to use them). We have furnished areas out the back and front. The kitchen, dining and lounge is all open plan with an AC/Heating unit. There is free parking on the street. The room does not have an AC/Heating unit but we provide you with a fan and electric heater. Interaction with GuestsWe are a couple in our early 30s and we moved to Melbourne in 2010, from Adelaide. We love this city and Brunswick is an awesome area to be living in. We're happy to help you out with any tips you need on good food, pubs, bars, events and attractions while you're here! We are usually at work during the day and often out on weekends so we want you to just make yourself at home when you're staying with us. The NeighborhoodBrunswick is a vibrant, artsy part of Melbourne and we are right in the heart of it! Half way between Lygon St and Sydney Rd we are surrounded by many great bars, music venues and eateries, all within a 5 or 10minute walk. There are 2 supermarkets nearby, one is under 5minutes walk and the other (much larger one) is a 10minute walk away. Getting AroundTo get to the city you can easily jump on a tram (number 1 or 8), the tram stop is only a couple of minutes walk from our house and they run often. You can also get a train, the Brunswick station is a 10minute walk from our house, they run every 20minutes. It's about a 20minute taxi ride from the airport which will cost you about $45 or $50 (tell the taxi driver to go via Bell St, Melville Rd and Dawson St for the quickest route). The lively Fitzroy area isn't too far from us, 10minutes by taxi or you can tram part of the way and walk the rest. If you want to visit St. Kilda beach the tram no.96 takes you right there, the tram stop is a 10min walk away. Other Things to NoteThere is free parking on the street. The Brunswick Baths pool and gym is 10 minutes walk away.

We are a friendly, sociable family consisting of two professional adults, two university student children, two high school children and one Danish international student. We live 6Kms from CBD, short walk to tram and train. Our house is large 7 bedroom and easily accommodates everyone. This includes two bathrooms, three toilets, two lounge rooms and a study. We eat dinner as a family and often have extra people for meals. We love to laugh, joke and all of us are very friendly. Breakfast and Lunch are "help yourself", Internet is Wifi and all bills are included. We respect diversity in all shapes and forms including sexuality, gender, race and religion etc. (all humans are equal). Currently the homestay room available can accommodate one or two people, including bedding, desk and open fire (as well as centrally controlled hydronic heating). We have a lovely indoor/outdoor lounge, kitchen and sitting room which opens out onto a deck and temporary swimming pool for the summer months. Heated spa bath coming in the very near future. If you are looking for a homestay which is fun, friendly and respectful we may be what your looking for. You have a choice of being "one of the family" or keeping to yourself. Preferably you should be able to communicate in English, have an open mind and a good sense of humour. NOTE: despite the size of the family it is only noisy at meals times and games nights.

Please respect water use, use half-flush button on toilets, do what the locals do and limit showers to 5 minutes please. Please also turn OFF ALL lights, extra appliances and heating/aircon and bathroom/kitchen/laundry fans when you leave the premises. Security and cleanliness are paramount. Please be courteous and treat the place with the same care you show your own property please, or more. If you cook anything, please pull out and turn on the overhead fan, or air out the room if needed. Seal food items and put the away- do not leave them out! If you leave it in a mess, break anything without letting me know, leave rubbish or food stuffs around or not take your rubbish out, it will not be taken happily, so please just do the right thing. Any extraordinary cleaning requirement beyond the typical expectation or damage bill will be charged. So please, just be clean, decent, courteous guests as you'd hope anyone staying in your house would be... :)

The SpaceOur stylish, newly-renovated, completely self-contained studio bungalow offers private access, a super-comfortable queen bed, living room, a funky kitchen & bathroom and a lovely courtyard. It has double glazed windows and a heap of insulation, ensuring that it is comfortable all year round. There is a washing machine and coffee machine, as well as airconditioning and heating. Importantly, the gorgeous sunny courtyard has table, chairs and shade umbrella (grape vines are growing) - perfect for breakfast in the morning sun or dinner under the stars. There is even a fresh herb garden for your use! Our bungalow/villa/apartment (we never know what to call it!) is small but perfectly formed and completely self-contained. It is most suitable for an individual or couple. We are very close to the university/hospital precinct and offer a bike at your disposal to access these via the many flat (safe) bike paths. You will have the apartment and courtyard completely to yourself and private entry is via a bluestone laneway. The SpaceThis is a 2 storey, 2 bedroom townhouse right in the heart of Brunswick. The house is on the corner of a dead end street, so it is very quiet. However, you only need to walk a couple of blocks to find all the action of Sydney Road and everything it offers, including cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. The Sydney Rd tram is less than 300 metres away and the Brunswick train station is 500 metres away. The house has an open living, kitchen, dining plus second toilet downstairs and two bedrooms with a bathroom upstairs. There is also a small courtyard. Guest AccessThe house has full oven and stove, microwave, fridge (no dishwasher). There is a TV (no remote - sorry my dog chewed it up), and wireless internet access. There is a front loading washing machine (no dryer, but there is a clothes line). There are panel heaters through the house and an air conditioner in the main bedroom (I also have stand fans for the other rooms). Other Things to NoteI own a labrador who is very energetic so there is some signs of wear and tear around the house. She has chewed some of the bottom of the couch and she has chewed up so many remotes I don't bother having one anymore. The courtyard doesn't have many plants in it as she eats most of them, but it does have a nice patch of fake lawn so it is not too bad to sit in.
