The SpaceWhether you are visiting Wyoming on a family vacation or for big game hunting you’ll be hard pressed to find a more beautiful part of the country. The house is furnished with hand made log furniture, trophy elk and deer mounts from previous hunts, pillow-top mattresses, all new luxury bedding and beautiful views of the Roosevelt National Forest. The great room has a huge vaulted ceiling and a spectacular view of Green Mountain and our Fishing pond. The Laramie hunting Region is crawling with antelope, mule deer, moose and elk; this is what trophy hunting is supposed to be like. There is also Prairie dog hunting which is very fast paced and is awesome! Elk and mule deer hunting is never dull and there is always another herd on the horizon. If you are after a first class hunting experience then visit Wyoming and the Laramie Region. Guided hunts are provided by two local long-term hunters and land owners (extra cost). Wyoming hunting seasons are mandated by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department: please visit their website to determine exact hunting dates and license requirements. Hunting Report Laramie Region 2016 Much of the land in southeastern Wyoming is privately owned, which limits access in some hunt areas. Good buck ratios and horn growth will provide a good hunting experience for hunters who can find a place to hunt. Hunters should refer to Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S Forest Service (USFS), or their GPS maps to determine land ownership. Access for pronghorn hunting on private land in the region continues to improve. Hunters are encouraged to review their 2016 regulations prior to going afield. Guest AccessYou have access to the entire home and land. Interaction with GuestsWe are available via phone but are not present during your stay. Other Things to NoteThe house has its own well and power (solar). Detailed instructions concerning use will be provided at time of booking.

Welcome to Horse Creek, Wyoming, the land of wide-open spaces, and welcome to Horse Creek Cattle Company, home of great expansive views and wondrous wildlife. This 60,000-acre working cattle ranch, located 30 miles northwest of Cheyenne on Wyoming State Highway 211, is nestled in the heart of historic ranching country with rich hay meadows and the beautiful, mountainous terrain of the Laramie Range. Many miles of well-maintained private ranch roads lead to valleys filled with wildflowers, aspen groves, and shy, wild animals much as they were a century or more ago—a great way to capture the spirit of the West. We invite you to be our guest. This ranch is also home to over a dozen picturesque lakes—a virtual paradise for the fly-fishing enthusiast. The evenings are enhanced by spectacular sunsets, which are best enjoyed around a large rock fire pit. When the sky fades to darkness, this setting offers something city folk rarely, if ever, see—a night sky filled with stars, a planet or two, and twinkling satellites you can view with the naked eye. Built in 1893, the “Stone House” has been fully renovated to its authentic grandeur. All 5 guest bedrooms/suites and 4 bathrooms, accommodating up to 11 guests, portray the comfortable elegance of the 19th century. The main floor kitchen, dining room and sitting room warm guests with classic western furniture, paintings and sculptures. Most magnificent in the Stone House is the Great Room. This 2000 square foot entertainment and dining room captures the ranch’s essence. Spectacular taxidermy, all acquired on the ranch itself, accent this room. Guests enjoy relaxing around the 25 foot floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace or the granite bar—a picture perfect place to enjoy a meal or relax with a drink. (Room accommodates up to 80 people.) The Stone House and all its surroundings can be your home away from home for $1200 a night, 2-night minimum. Guests may also opt to have their meals prepared for an additional cost. Special events, such as weddings or retreats, are also available. Please call for pricing.
