    Starry Night is in the heart of the Mackenzie Country just 12 minutes drive from Lake Tekapo and 4 minutes from Mt Dobson access road. Burkes Pass is a small heritage township on the main route to Lake Tekapo and Queenstown. In the winter months there is skiing (Mt Dobson, Fox Peak and Roundhill) and the popular Tekapo Springs (hot pools, snow tubing and ice skating). In summer, temperatures sore and there are plenty of lakes nearby to boat and swim in (Opuha, Tekapo, Benmore). Starry Night's huge deck and lawns make a great holiday location for families during the summer months. Starry Night is a great holiday destination all year round and just far enough out of Tekapo to be out of the tourist market. Star gazing in Burkes Pass is amongst the best in the world - come and enjoy it from our outdoor cedar hot tub! Special conditions: The fold out couch is suitable for kids only.       Sawdon Station a high country sheep station in the Mackenzie Country, farms 6000 merino sheep, and is growing the beautiful lupin plant for stock food. This homestead is almost 100 years old, and has been lovingly decorated inside, and we would like to share with you. This house is 10 kilometres from Lake Tekapo and 10 km from Burkes Pass - just as you come into the beautiful Mackenzie country. It is located with an old woolshed and sheds, and stable. This is a beautiful location to get away from the stress of life and enjoy the farming environment, with walks and mountain biking. Farm Tours offered with accommodation. STAY FOR FOUR NIGHTS FOR THE PRICE OF THREE, VALUE OF FREE NIGHT IS $260(some special conditions apply). This house has a large farm kitchen, pantry, two toilets, large claw foot bath, 4 bedrooms, large office, outside furniture located in a beautiful sun trap. Also large trees to seek shade. The homestead has an excellent log burner, and a Heat Pump. Excellent internet. Great location for two families, extended families, wedding location, corporate groups.           This cottage is the old rabbit house built by NZ gvt back in the day controlling the rabbit population. Nestled in the foothills of the two thumb range halfway between Fairlie and Lake Tekapo now a happy holiday home close to both Mt. Dobson and Roundhill ski fields in the winter and numerous lakes, mountains and walking tracks the rest of the year round .             We are happy to invite you to book a holiday at Taryn. Taryn is a new home (completed December 2013) built on our 17-acre smallholding. Solar electricity and hot water, well insulated and double-glazed throughout. The deck looks out over the dam, with plenty of bird life to watch. Conveniently located between Fairlie and Lake Tekapo, easy access to skifields, hotpools, and cafes. Burkes Pass Village is home to Burkes Pass Art Gallery, historic St Patrick's Church, crafts, walks and coffee cart. Explore the mountains and vicinity, then come home to a warm cozy home. The living areas are open plan and feature big windows to enjoy the view. Learn how easy it is to live an off-the-grid life in a modern eco-home. The grounds are not yet fully landscaped, and we do not recommend this property for families with very young children.
