From Asheville -- go east on I-40 towards Statesville. As you descend after passing the village of Ridgecrest (home to Billy Graham), watch for the first exit for town of Old Fort. Take this exit and it puts you on NC70 going through Old Fort (one stoplight), continue on about 9 miles to a light at intersection with NC80. (There’s a great little Italian Restaurant on the corner, “Mama Irena’s Little Sienna”). Go left, follow NC80 up into the mountains, about 15 miles you’ll pass under the Blue Ridge Parkway, keep going another 6 miles pass by Hemloch State park. Go over large concrete bridge, Turn right onto Colberts Creek Rd. Go .7 mile to small bridge pass over turn left onto Rock Creek rd go another .9 mile, look for A.F.
