The SpaceThe Anchorage is situated in a stunning location, overlooking the River Hamble. Set in grounds of around 3 acres, it is the perfect spot for a quiet weekend away, and close to the many marinas in and around Hamble. We are also situated opposite The Jolly Sailor, one of the best pubs on the South Coast, and a great place to visit in both summer (waterside terrace) and winter (roaring log fires). Our B&B room is a downstairs suite, with views overlooking the garden and across to the river. It has a beautiful bathroom suite, with a huge, original Victorian rolltop bath. Breakfast is served in the dining room on a help-yourself basis with fresh fruit, cereals, coffee and croissants. The NeighborhoodOld Bursledon is a charming riverside village, steeped in history. It is one of the sunniest spots on the south coast, and looks over the River Hamble towards the Isle of Wight. Getting AroundThe house is easily accessible by car, train or boat! We are just a 2 minute walk from Bursledon station which is on the main line between Southampton Central and Portsmouth. We are only a 7-8 minute drive from Junction 8 of the M27, and we are within a few minutes drive of the many marinas on the River Hamble. Other Things to NoteFor a small extra charge we can provide a cot and bedding should it be required.

The SpaceRoom for rent in a four bedroom house in a suburb on the outskirts of Southampton, close to good transport links to the city centre. Getting AroundBy car Southampton Cruse ship ports are about 20 mins away. There are regular buses running from our place and it takes about 25 minutes to the Southampton city centre. Southampton Uni is about 4 miles away and the bus take 50 minutes as it takes the long route there.

    The SpaceThis southern English city is every inch the picturesque costal resort. Southhampton as many attractions for both holiday makers and business travelers. There's plenty to keep you entertained and busy here, from the museums, art galleries, shops, traditional markets and Theatres the choice is endless. Southhampton is also know as the greenest city in southern England, known because of the many parks the city has. The city is also home to a wide range bars and clubs, but for those who like to dine out you won't be stuck for choice there either. So where better to stay than my property in Southhampton. There are several beautiful rooms which are available in a large spacious house in a quiet neighbor hood located near the city center and the M27, it is also close to all major bus routes. The price for the rooms comes with all bills included, the room comes with a comfortable bed, wifi and Linen.     The SpaceAll rooms have high ceiling and the wooden aspect in the house makes it very cosy and welcoming. There is free Wifi in the house and a TV area. The large garden invites to rest. There is a sandpit for children as well as sun loungers for adults. Guest AccessYou will have access from the shared main entrance. Your room will be on the first floor and you will need to go through a little corridor to go up the wide oak stairs. We have a large parking area as well as a garage if you would lie, to leave the car here, while you are flying away. Small charge will apply. Interaction with GuestsYou are welcome to sit in the lounge or watch TV in the TV area upstairs. The NeighborhoodWe are close to the river Hamble and there are plenty of pubs around. You also could hire one of our bikes to get around. Getting AroundThe train station in Bursledon is a 7 min walk away. The local bus stop is a 10 min walk away. There is a local shop for buying your essentials or bigger supermarkets nearby. We also could help with pizza deliveries. Other Things to NoteOur house is a non-smoking house and we have a little son who goes to nursery three days a week. There are three pubs within walking distance (2-8min) and we are close to the river Hamble.

The village center is about 1/4 mile away where you can find most things. Getting AroundThere is parking on the driveway. There is a train station in Hedge End and buses which run from the village. Other Things to NoteWe are near the M27 and M3. Nearby is also Upper Hamble Country Park, a delightful woodland, meadow and even a working farm bordering the river Hamble. Shops are within easy walking distance.

    The SpaceThe yacht is 26 feet long and it sleeps one or two in a double bed in the front cabin. There is a skylight above the bed where you can star gaze when tucked in. The saloon (living area) in the back has cosy seating area. Also there is a one ring gas stove. There is also 240v electric onboard to power the lighting and an electric kettle and toaster. The electric also powers 2 oil filled radiators to keep it warm and toasty inside the boat in the winter months. There is also 240 volt sockets for anything you may need. There are complimentary selection of Tea's, coffee's and hot chocolate onboard along with biscuits. There are amplified speakers onboard which can connect to a phone/laptop/tablet via headphone jack and therefore streaming TV or watching DVD's or Listening to radio can be played with superb sound. The yacht is small so standing room gets less as you move forward. There is 6 feet at the rear moving to 5 foot 3 at the front. There is a cosy feeling on board. I keep the yacht very clean and have always run the heating onboard right through the winter. Therefore there has never been any damp. It is warm and dry in the cabin. There is no fridge onboard however there are two igloo cool boxes. If you buy a bag of ice from the local shop, either cool box will keep extremely cold for 48 hours. Wifi is available free for one device although there is 3/4G coverage for most networks. There is free Wifi in the Marina bar/restaurant. The Wifi on the boat allows 4 hours of continuous connection per day. The marina shower facilities are brand new with heated flooring and and great showers. The yacht is situated a 30 second walk from the shower / Toilet block. No pets are permitted onboard. Guest AccessThe yacht is accessed by a security gate which takes you down a pontoon gangway onto the marina pontoons. A plastic scanner key fob is provided to access the gate. Don't go out without it or you can't get back in!! A key is also provided for the padlock which unlocks the sliding door to get inside the yacht. No pets are permitted onboard. Marina is situated on the A27, immediately after it crosses the River Hamble, just east of Southampton. The marina is easily reached from either Junction 8 or 9 of the M27. From Junction 8 of the M27 - At Junction 8 of the M27 take the exit off the roundabout onto the A3024 (signposted Southampton East) on reaching the Windhover Roundabout (at the top of the ramp) take the first exit onto Providence Hill (signposted Park Gate, Sarisbury, Bursledon) and follow the A27 forward. After passing under the railway bridge at Bursledon, proceed to the traffic lights, take the right-hand lane and turn right into Marina. From Junction 9 of the M27 - At Junction 9 of the M27 follow the signs for Park Gate and at the Segensworth Roundabout, take the fifth exit onto the A27 westbound signposted Southampton. Continue straight along the A27 through Park Gate and Sarisbury Green. Follow the A27 down the hill and at the traffic lights turn left into Marina. Contact the marina. TO MARINA BY RAIL Southampton Airport Parkway is the nearest main line station to Swanwick (8 miles away) with trains running regularly from London Waterloo (1 hour 6 mins – 1 hour 28 mins). Bursledon is the nearest local station and is on the Southampton to Portsmouth line, just 8–10 minutes' walk from the marina.       Situated in port hamble marina and situated in the heart of the village of Hamble which is the mecca of sailing for both visitors and sailors. Beautiful privately owned Bavaria 350. She is 37.6ft in length and a generous 8 berth. Fully coded and berthed in the prestigous MDL Marina, Hamble, just in front of Banana Wharf and the bertholders car park. She is totally updated and out on charter quite a lot but ideal for staying on for a short holiday or indeed for the boat show in September. Could possibly moor her in Ocean Village if booked in time. Her layout is a double in the forepeak(front) with ensuite heads/shower. Table in the saloon dividing two ample single berths. Two port and starboard double berths aft which are quite spacious. She has a good working cool box. She was built to Lloyds specification and is a beautiful example of a quality yacht with mahogany interior throughout and teak cockpit and decks. She has an eberspacher heater on board and also a low level oil heater. You can connect her to the mains electricity. Bathing platform and shower on the transom (stern). Free mooring in all MDL Marinas. Could be taken abroad to live-on in a marina if you didnt want to sail. Free parking for the duration in the marina and a few minutes walk to all the restaurants and pubs in Hamble. Cleaning is extra at £75. Full inventory can be sent but has enough plates, cups, glasses to cater for 8 or more. A viewing would be highly recommended.Nearest beach 2 miles away, Netley or Lee on solent 15 km. Stereo / radio on board and an ipad stand on the pedestal. Towels and bedding can be provided - make sure you advise. If you wish for a days sail, a skipper can be provided.           A fully furnished home with live-in host in a quiet cul de sac location. Close to the Ageas Bowl for cricket, Southampton Airport, Southampton, Portsmouth and New Forest. Also close to train station on direct line to London. One double room is available for up to 2 guests, with shared lounge/diner, kitchen and bathroom. A cat also lives here but is not allowed in the bedrooms or bathroom. The bedroom has a sofa bed that is slightly larger than a double - but not quite a king! The bathroom has a full sized bath and a shower and the kitchen all the usual bit that you would need.           The SpaceRelaxing home from home in the beautiful riverside cottage, with 2 double bedrooms which can be set as two Kingsize beds or a Kingsize and two singles. Has a small cottage staircase and a downstairs bathroom which has been modernised with a powerful shower over the bath. Parking is directly outside. It has a wood burner for those cold nights but has a sunny garden perfect for jumping in the hot tub no matter what time of year. Most fittings are new including coffee machine and microwave. The Cottage is traditional with one bedroom gaining access through the other but separated by a door. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and step outside the front door and watch the river at any time of day as there is always something to see. We have 3 kayaks which take 4 people in all at the cottage. Let us know in advance if you wish to use them as we can give you some useful advice. It also a bird spotters delight as there are many different species and some protected areas for breeding and migrating birds. Or if the history of old ships and wrecks is your thing well there are many on the Hamble and Old Portsmouth is well worth a visit. The previous owners have described the Cottage as having good karma! Guest AccessGuests will have free access to the whole house, private garden and private use of Hot tub. Please let us know in advance if you wish to use the Kayaks so we can give some additional advice. Interaction with GuestsWill be available with any questions throughout your stay as we live close by. But happy for you to gain access without the need to meet your host. The NeighborhoodThe Hamble is the busiest water way in the UK, the wild life is all around. There is the Solent Way immediately outside of the door. There are numerous other walks nearby or why not kayak to a nearby pub. Alternatively check out the famous wrecks along the river at low tide. In the summer months watch the enormous Cruise ships pass the Hamble on their way to the Solent. Getting AroundBursledon railway station is less that a half mile walk from the Cottage, easy access to the motorway and parking directly outside of the cottage. Or cycle along the Solent Way. Cars can also be rented currently EuRopcar are very competitive and can be rented from Southampton Airport which is next to Southampton Airport Parkway railway station. Just 1hr 10mins from Waterloo. Trains can also take to to Southampton or Portsmouth or the New Forest and Bournemouth. Other Things to NoteSuperfast WiFi, great location, lovely Cottage, you can sense the nautical history of this area.

The owner lives close to the village and boat and is on hand. The boat is maintained and cleaned to a ;high standard and smells fresh and airy. There is a lovely low level lighting if needed. Lots of storage, especially for bottles! The cockpit provides a lovely sitting area with cup holders, speakers and teak table. Deck lighting and sprayhood. Compare to a 3 cabin yacht in The Jolly Harbour in Antigua which is listed at £1400 for a week! Official checkout time is 10.00 but can be later if boat not needed. Guest AccessGuests will have the use of the total boat and its 8 berths. Parking almost next to the boat. Interaction with GuestsI am at hand in the village near the boat and happily give advice on best places to visit and eat. The NeighborhoodThere is a lovely bar, restaurant and nightclub in the village called "Boomerangs".y Getting AroundThere is a bus stop 4 minutes walk away. Train station 15 minutes. Plenty of taxis about. Other Things to NoteHamble is the Mecca for sailing in the UK. In busy little village where there is a bustle of racing at weekends. The Royal Southern Yacht Club 3 mins walk away and the Royal Airf Force Yacht club 2 mins. A short drive from Hamble is the well known "Jolly Sailor" pub, well known for the "Howard Way" TV series was filmed. Excellent food and river views. The Blue Star restaurant is a short walk away along the foreshore and beach which does excellent breakfasts, coffee and cakes. If you want to get over to Warsash raaher than drive there is the pink ferry which runs daily. For children there is crabbing off the foreshore.

          The self contained ground floor annex attached to our house with it's own private entrance is light, modern and homely. There is a patio for use too which is perfect for BBQ's. Parking is available close to the property, with unloading possible from our driveway. The open plan lounge, kitchen diner features a corner sofa which converts into a double sofa bed allowing the annex to comfortably sleep four. Perfect for couples, business people and families.

We like to have tea and chill in the evenings in front of the TV. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a lovely area, a mixture of families and couples. We are walking distance to local shops and Hedge End village center. There are three other couples in our block, they are all friendly and approachable. Getting AroundWe are a ten minute drive from Southampton Airport, walking distance from a number of shops and a retail park with some fast food restaurants. We are a 2 minute walk from the closest bus stop which will take you into Southampton City Center.

Village centre is only a 10 min walk away and has a large variety of shops should you not want to go further afield. Hedge End train station is about a half hour walk and on the London to Portsmouth line. The Ageas Bowl is close and Hedge End itself has a large business park. Getting AroundLocal train station on the London/Portsmouth line and buses into Southampton and elsewhere. However parking space on the drive can be available if guests are driving. Other Things to NoteJust to note that I do have a cat. She isn't allowed in the bedroom you will have and I do hoover regularly, however I'd still recommend those with allergies to cats bring anti histamines!

          This grand detached residence is peacefully set, with its garden overlooking a woodland Site of Importance for Nature Conservation - where guests may even spot additional visitors to the garden (including badgers and a wealth of garden birds). Lavender Cottage offers delightful accommodation, and has a real ‘home from home’ feel - being full of character with beams on the ground floor, a multi-fuel stove in the living room and a warming Aga in the family kitchen. The village of Bursledon sits on the River Hamble which runs into Southampton Water and the Solent. Many sailing schools are based nearby, or for visitors who have their own small boat, there is hard standing at the cottage and a public launching hard at nearby Swanwick. The village also has a fully restored working flour windmill, which can be seen in action, and visitors are able to buy flour to make their own bread! Walks can be enjoyed along the river, and Hamble common has 55 acres of coastal heath land for nature and wildlife lovers. A short drive leads to many different destinations for day trips for all to enjoy - including Southampton and Portsmouth for good shops and maritime history, the cathedral city of Winchester and the New Forest National Park with its famous ponies, great for walks and cycling. Visit Hamble-le-Rice, (more commonly known as Hamble), a pretty seaside village with cobbled streets, independent shops and restaurants, and harbour with passenger ferries across the estuary to Warsash. Alternatively, the ferry can be taken to the Isle of Wight, or the capital city of London is just over an hour by train. Lavender Cottage is only 10 minutes from Southampton airport and station.           This delightful period cottage has been tastefully restored and enjoys an enviable location, only 22 yards from the water’s edge/slipway, where a colourful array of boats can be seen. There is direct access to a footpath along The Solent Way which stretches all the way to Gosport, with scenic views over the River Hamble and where many birds and other wildlife can be spotted. There are local traditional inns nearby, the nearest is about 55 yards away, or a little further discover the pub featured in Howards Way, the popular TV series of yesteryear, just a ½-mile walk away.Inside, this super cottage boasts some historic features: the handrail for the stairs originates from The Gypsy Moth, a famous historic yacht that circumnavigated the globe. Other features include beams, part exposed brick/flint walls, wooden floors and a wood-burning stove. Outside, the enclosed lawned garden has a flower border and two levels of decking with furniture. There is also a hot tub which can be enjoyed all year round by guests, and two kayaks available to be launched from the public slipway free of charge.
