The SpaceThis space embodies the offbeat, free spirit of Vermont. The shape is a Dome, spiral staircase, huge shower, glass enclosed room at top. Its got a vibe for lovers of something different. New beds, fabulous hot-tub. Wood stove and propane heat. Guest AccessSituated near famous micro-breweries. Near hiking paths and lakes. Golf in the summer, nearby skiing at Smugglers Notch in the winter. Near Stowe. Montpelier has theatre, great food, and movies. Swimming holes, boating and waterfalls nearby. Interaction with GuestsThis is a complicated house. If you let the vibe in, there is a place for everyone. You can sit alone in the meditation room. You can dance around the studio. Spend any amount of time you want in the hot-tub looking at the stars. This house is about creativity and freedom. The Neighborhood- it is totally private, and thoroughly tree-and-lake saturated. The "mission" of the house is a retreat for dancers and artists. Its quirky, with lots of interesting space for private reflection, or hanging out together. There is a golf course next to us. The Woodbury town store gives us $2.00 off pizza, Hardwick has good food. Rte 2 has antiques, Goddard College, Rainbow Sweets an incredible restaurant. )amazing deserts) Getting AroundThe Dome is near Hardwick, Thirty minutes to Stowe, thirty minutes from Montpelier. Golf or snowshoeing two minutes away, and we are near Cabot Creamery on Route 2. In the winter, its important to have a car which can manage snow. There's a small store in East Calais just before Woodbury. Woodbury store carries most things you'll need. Other Things to NoteHistoric house which had to be entirely renovated. The "yoga guru" who built this house, focused on the openness, energy, light. Lots of glass and not a lot of walls. The addition is more private, and opens out to the hot tub. It is not immaculate. It is cleaned for hours each time, stocked with coffee and tea, as well as things to cook and bake with. Beds are done, and we clean the hot-tub often. Its rustic and complex. Its woodsy. Its Vermont.

You'll stay in a custom built, finely crafted tiny (384 sf + loft) house with high ceilings, large windows and lots of light, even a cupola. Modeled after a nineteenth century Vermont schoolhouse, the design is true to character - from the exposed beams to the square head nails in wide pine flooring - using the best of modern technology - built green with an on-demand water heater, propane heat and high end finishes with IKEA fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom. Located on a quiet dirt road in the bucolic town of Cabot, your closest neighbors will be the ravens in the red pines, the chickadees in the cedars and a variety of other woodland creatures. Trails around the property will take you to a swimming pond and, another, to a quiet lake where you’ll have the use of two kayaks. The peace and quiet of Vermont’s rural living will restore your spirit and perhaps inspire you in your creative endeavors. You’ll be near some of Vermont’s best biking, hiking and sightseeing areas where a relaxing lifestyle and splendid green mountain vistas provide a backdrop to charming small towns to explore. We travel much of the year and may or may not be in residence during your visit. An upstairs space is accessible by circular stairway. The downstairs has a comfy futon, convertible for comfy sleeping. You'll love being here if you like exploring Vermont's natural beauty - quiet except for the calls of the ravens, the early morning loon cries (the loon couple, surprisingly, makes occasional fly by) and the rushing wind in the maples. Step out your back door to a private, expansive yard and enjoy all that Vermont has to offer. (A patio will be ready by early July.)

You’ll love the charm and quality, peace and beauty of wild things in the countryside of rural Vermont. Wake up to the plaintiff call of the loon and savor your morning coffee from the sun porch, the deck, or the morning porch with its view of the perennial gardens and Painted Pond. Plan your day to include swimming (dive into a spring fed pond), biking on many routes around Central Vermont, kayaking ( two for your use down a 1/3 mile woodland trail). Or perhaps you'd enjoy something quieter - like the hammock or reading a good book by the gas fireplace. Grill your dinner on the back deck. Explore the VT artisan cheeses and craft beers. Cheers! Deer, moose, coyotes, herons, peregrine falcons an eagle! are your neighbors, as well as our closest friends, the resident ravens. (We've also seen the elusive bobcat). It's a perfect place for couples, families (with kids - grown or small) and big groups; well behaved pets are welcome. A rental cottage for two to four is available across the road.
