The SpaceThis property is a relatively small family home built in early 50's. Like mentioned, it is comparable then to a dollhouse on steroids. Accommodation for 6 guests considering 2 guests shares a room. It is used to be a dwelling for a growing happy and religious family, lots of friends and relatives have had their chances in staying over. In most times, parties were incidental and can easily turns spontaneous. This lovely aura may still be lingering around.
The house has 3 comfortable small rooms. Each have their respective bathrooms. Renovation ideas were derived from the concept of the old ways fixing a urinal next to bed.
Each room is installed with an air conditioning unit. It can get hot when you are not used to tropical climate. Instead of providing a large-leaf-fan-guy, investing on electric bill would seem reasonable.
Although the kitchen is available for cooking, most guests asks for discount catering especially those who intend to get entertained with local pride.
The property undergoes some minor maintenance works every now and then. Please pardon bits of inconveniences, all works are planned accordingly to maximize comfort at the same time.
Since that we are located along tropical zone, there are some factors that we don't have all controls over it, mosquitoes, we normally apply deterrent efforts while you enjoy evening out in the yard. The house is screened and is the primary shield from bugs but only works when it is properly utilized.
We acknowledge the consequences of long travels, that's why we considered looking into an approach that works well with tired travelers. Guest AccessThe gate is normally unlocked when we are expecting guests to arrive. In cases host may be preoccupied, guests may manually open the gate and proceed to driveway. If Host Jonathan and/or family are not already waiting, you may get to him in his place located a little farther back. Or you can also park in the premises and affix a note somewhere at the driver side saying "went shopping for an exercise", shopping area is right across the road in front of the home. He will also leave a set of phone numbers to get to him at the front entrance door of the house, if we happen to forgot to give you his number.
The whole house and yard are guest accessible, other than the rooms limited to room occupants only. Host Jonathan's dwelling is not an off limits area but some privacy boundaries may apply. There are some lady boarders already occupying extra rooms with them, they are included in the list of privacy limits, don't worry they are nice. More so of them being around when they retire from work.
Breakfast menus are local dishes. Hosts Jonathan and/or Host Evelyn can be really helpful when you are craving for something else other than local menu for breakfast. Continental breakfast like pancakes, omelette , etc., if they are rather desired. Interaction with GuestsThe whole family of Host Jonathan and their lady boarders are available for interactions, as necessary, but limited to as hosts and friends, means there are some things that the host cannot represent or do.
Locals are characterized as industrious people and is the major charm they possess, which was the convincing factor for plantation owners in Hawaii. Topics on conservatism are always good platforms to start a conversation and share ideas with. The NeighborhoodMy Cid's Garden is geographically located in North Philippine Islands, considerably urbanized in regards to amenities available in its outskirts. A 15 minute commute to or from Laoag International Airport.
The property is in a community whom locals knows each other. The area is visited by neighboring towns and tourists while it can get busy at times, this place has its own story to tell where locals are the only historians who can share them experiences, funny ones are surely are party starters.
A good concentration of recruits were drafted in this region to work in various plantations in Hawaii before WWII, one of whom was my late grandfather Fernando Magarro. Having said that, consider looking at a syllogism angle; The area is Hawaii, Hawaii is part Ilocos Norte, Hawaii then has marunggay.
Being in a locality where everyone knows everybody, interacting with the locals is not as difficult especially with honest intentions. To non-Filipino speakers, English is taught in school, so most of them who went to school and did their homework can communicate in English. But of a little accent, ask to slow down a bit, common hand language may also help. Getting AroundEasy getting around the area on a tricycle, jeepneys or on buses.
The property is located along the National Road, where there is no need to take another commute when taking public transportation along this route (Jeepneys, are colorfully decorated passenger jeep, locally enjoyed public transportation, extended covered bed maximized passenger seating). Horse driven cart (kaleza) are also available for you to taxi around or to and/or from local destinations. I personally consider fun to ride on tricycles.
Host can arrange transportation upon request. The 10-20 minute ride airport pick up and drop off is an inclusive. Other Things to NoteInquire Host Jonathan for local tours, laundry, extra mattress (extra charge per additional guest applies), local wine, flower arrangements, massage/spa, and/or other tourism requests available locally.
Host Jonathan's average assessment on prices are based on utilities and material amortizations. Nightly rate covers 3 bedrooms sleeps up to 6 guests comfortably.
