The building is a beautiful Spanish colonial home. We keep it clean and tidy, and put some effort in making it environment-friendly. Our water heater is a solar-electric hybrid model and our A.C.´s have inverter technology. We currently are investing in energy-efficient lightbulbs. We sort our waste as organic and inorganic. We have two ISP´s that provides us with reliable Wi-Fi in rooms and common areas. CCTV camera security system. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, juice, milk, cereal, bread and jam. Room is in second floor, access via stairs. Guest AccessDuring your stay, you´re welcome to use the 1 st floor common areas. In the kitchen, we have a fridge, microwave, gas range, electric rice cooker, and kitchen & eating utensils that you can use for storing food and cooking. Also, feel free to use our lounge room with Cable Tv, books, board games, or just chill out in our big couches and bistro tables. Access to 3 rd and 4 th floor is restricted. No smoking inside, but can smoke in the backyard/ outside the building. The NeighborhoodThis is the university zone of Chetumal. Albeit an ever-increasing young population, it is a calm and quiet neighborhood. Just a walk away from the boulevard of Chetumal Bay, ideal for taking a stroll to Dos Mulas Beach, exercise at the outdoors-public-gym in front of convention center, biking to Calderitas, or just see the sun rise in the university Pier. Getting AroundWe are close to public transportation. The combis and buses´ stop is around the corner, but with no fixed schedules are mostly unreliable. Taxis are more convenient and, depending how far you go, charge starting at 1USD per trip. Taxicabs don´t charge per additional person, and is very convenient to share a ride with others. We have two bikes that you can borrow. Other Things to NoteThere is no massive public transportation in Chetumal, but taxis can get you around town and are dirty cheap. All taxicabs have a mandatory taxi fare table (“Tabulador de tarifa”) where the price is already fixed. Taxicabs do not charge for additional person and usually pick up people traveling in the same direction.
