This house was featured in Real Living Magazine, Jan/Feb 2012, within a feature on beautiful beach houses close to Sydney. Culburra Beach is a quaint little town only 2.5 hs drive from Sydney. There is a small town with a couple of good coffee shops (A Thousand Taste Buds Cafe and Jenny's Cafe have great coffee) for breakfast as well as some nice diners (fish & chips style). There is also a recently opened Woolworths- so no need to bring anything from the city (except some nice wine). The beach is a long sandy stretch of wild beach, with lots of bush vegetation and dunes. There is also a lake with great bird life, Lake Wollumboola, close by. The Crookhaven River is also nearby, with great oyster farms that serve you fresh oysters by the riverfront and good fishing.

The SpaceWe offer overnight waterfront cabin accommodation on the beautiful South Coast of NSW, just 2 hours from Sydney and Canberra and 10 minutes from Jervis Bay and Nowra. We purchased the “Angler’s Rest Riverside Caravan Park” in 2009 as a solution to escape the city. Since then we have been improving the quality of accommodation whilst keeping the place unspoilt and beautiful. We are a member of Eco-Tourism Australia and follow practices that minimise both our and our guests’ environmental impact in line with “RRR” (Reduce, Re-Use, Re-Cycle). In practice what we do is work towards having positive impacts on the environment and on the community because it feels like the right thing to do. Each year we improve our eco-tourism and community initiatives. We do little things like provide espresso coffee for guests by donation to Noah’s Shoalhaven. We do bigger things like donating to charities and are continually improving energy self-sufficiency through the use of efficient appliances and the installation of solar panels. Recently we introduced refillable, carbon neutral bottles for the provision of high quality, eco-friendly amenities. Guest AccessGuests will be able to access to everything we offer at South Coast Retreat such as Boat and Kayak Hire, Cruiser Bikes, DVDs and free, free range eggs from our happy hens at home (subject to availability). Interaction with GuestsOur office is open from 9-5 everyday except Christmas day and we are happy to help you discover the best activities and explore the area. If you are arriving outside hours we will contact you with instructions regarding how to gain access. The NeighborhoodGreenwell Point is a sleepy fishing village and world famous for it's great oysters (September - April). There is one pub, two cafes, one supermarket, one petrol station, a club, about 6 fishing trawlers and several oyster farms with onsite sales at their yards. Getting AroundPublic transport consists of 1 or 2 public buses to and from Nowra and Bomaderry Train Station each day. We suggest that you hire a car or try and book a tour with South Coast Tours.
