The SpaceWith white sand, calm and crystalline waters, the beach of Barra Grande is ideal for the whole family. The river Carapitangui and the Mutá tip are both about a kilometer away. They are ideal spots to enjoy the sunset, and in specific dates, the moon rise.
For hiking lovers it is possible to walk to the stunning beach Taipus de Fora, seven kilometers away, thru the sand. You can also hire transfers in downtown. The NeighborhoodThe village of Barra Grande is the starting point for exploring the wonders of Marau Peninsula. With streets of sand and charming houses, the town has great restaurants, bars, and bakery, supermarket and other facilities. The beach is always near by, with coconut trees, blue and warm water and white sand. Getting AroundThe best way to get to Barra Grande is thru Ilhéus airport. From there it is possible to take a taxi directly to Barra Grande, a journey of approximately two hours. Another pleasant option is to go to the city of Camamu, and from there to take a boat, in a route that will take about two hours. We would be happy to indicate a reliable taxi driver. Other Things to NoteOur house is charming but simple. There is no air conditioning or television, and you probably will not miss any of those. The idea here is to get in touch with nature, get rid of the big city stress, and slow down to enter the bucolic pace of this small fishing village.
