The décor is simply elegant with a mix of modern and Swedish colony furniture. Guest AccessAll guests have 24 hour access to the dining room which includes a snack bar with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, ice water and fresh fruit, and a lounge for social gatherings. Each room has a picninc basket with indulgent snacks that lean towards healthy choices. There are two back porches for enjoying a bottle of wine and conversations while watching the beautiful rural sunsets. There are also several gathering places in the garden, landscaped with a dozen species of trees, and more than three dozen species of native wildflowers and shrubs. We have chosen to create a quiet space that is free of TVs, but there is a good internet connection if you wish to watch on-line on the device of your choosing. The NeighborhoodHistoric Bishop Hill was founded in 1846. Once known as Utopia on the Prairie, it retains its European ambiance. Bishop Hill now boasts art galleries, boutiques, antique shops, a bakery, several restaurants, and museums. It was recently named by Midwest Living Magazine as one of 100 Best Small Town Getaways. Festivals and special events abound in this National Historic Landmark village.
