This is a rare opportunity to sleep indoors in the Tiadaghton State Forest! This 1939 cabin was built before the forest lines were redrawn. Sleep in a piece of history! Located just a few yards off the Black Forest Trail, this is the best of all worlds. The cabin is two levels - the lower level has a fully equipped kitchen with gas range, stove, refrigerator, toaster oven, butcher block countertops, farmhouse sink, and tons of utensils, pots, pans etc. The lower level also has a big kitchen table (great for big meals, playing cards, and staging hiking adventures) as well as a couch and gas heater. The upper level is a loft-style bunk house with four single beds and one Queen-size Tempurpedic mattress. Upstairs has a vaulted knotty pine ceiling, bookshelves, and a big-screen TV with accompanying DVD collection for your use. Upstairs sleeps 6 easily assuming two people share the Queen bed. We provide sheets and towels, but you are welcome to use your own gear if you prefer. There is also a great vintage stereo system with a record player (bring your vinyl) and CD player. There is also a connection for a MP3 player. There are lots of CD and records on hand (so long as you like jam bands and freedom rock). Since we are located in the state forest, there are strict rules about running water - that is, we are not allowed to have it. We've managed to make the place quite comfortable despite this regulation. There is a composting toilet that functions like a regular toilet located on the first floor of the cabin. There is also a separate outhouse available for use. There is a spring that runs alongside the cabin that is great for collecting water for baths, washing dishes, brushing teeth etc. This water IS potable! Still, some guests prefer to bring their own jugs of filtered water. To recap: there is a toilet, but no shower or piped water. We think this adds to the rustic charm of the place. We also love the fact that here, there is zero cell service and no chance whatsoever of internet service. The closest cell service is at Hotel Manor, 1.6 miles south, where they also have free wi-fi. At the cabin, you are truly off the grid. The cabin has a toasty warm propane heater that operates on a thermostat. We have bikes for you to borrow. The place is also stocked with DVDs, CDs, records, books, games, pots & pans, and everything else you need to relax in this remote setting. The nearest structure of any kind is more than a mile away. The cabin is located on Slate Run Road about 1.6 miles north of the Hotel Manor and Wolfe's General Store. The address for GPS purposes is 1627 Slate Run Road, Slate Run, PA 17769. To find the cabin, we will send detailed instructions. We are yards from the Black Forest Trail and minutes to the Pine Creek Rails to Trails. Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon are a short drive and other endless outdoor adventures beckon nearby, including world-class fly-fishing, kayaking, cross-country skiing and rock climbing. This cabin has been part of our family for nearly 30 years. We ask that if you do choose to stay here, that you treat it with the same respect you would your own home. We are thrilled to share this piece of history - and our family's tradition - with you. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Scroll to the bottom to access a link for our Facebook page! **Please note that this cabin is not in Slate Run. Although the headline states this, the cabin is about 15-20 minutes from Slate Run. Slate Run is the closest town that is listed on VRBO, and so the cabin is listed as such.** Get away from it all at Miller Time, the premiere Pine Creek vacation spot in the Wilds of Pennsylvania, located directly on the creek. This quaint cabin includes all the amenities of home, in a serene mountain location. Bring the family, or a group of friends to relax and unwind under the blue sky--there is plenty of parking. Our two bedroom, one bathroom cabin accommodates 6 people comfortably, and is pet-friendly, so bring your furry friends along as well (dogs only). The master bedroom sleeps two, while the additional large bedroom sleeps four in single beds. Begin each day by enjoying a cup of coffee from the Keurig while rocking on the screened-in porch and spotting wildlife across the creek, including deer, bald eagles, and the occasional bear. Load up the bikes for a spin on the Rails to Trails, or take a paddle in a canoe or kayak (bring your own, or we have 6 for kayaks for rent). Hop down the stairs to the creek and take a dip in the swimming hole, float on one of our inner tubes, or try your hand at fishing or catching crayfish. Feeling less adventurous? One of our favorite past times is simply pulling up a chair and watching people cruise down the creek each day on their kayaks. When dinner time rolls around, sip a cocktail and prepare dinner in the kitchen, or grill some steaks on our gas or charcoal grill. Eat right outside at the picnic table, enjoying the priceless view. Don't feel like cooking? Try out some of the delicious local eateries, including our favorite--the Waterville Tavern--located 7 miles away. Take advantage of our 1-acre property in the evening by playing some of the many lawn games available at the cabin, including horseshoes, washers, and ladder golf. When evening rolls around, it's time to get the campfire going, and pull up a chair around the fire pit. We provide the firewood, and have plenty of equipment for making smores, mountain pies, or roasting weenies. Stargazing is also a highlight, and if the sky is clear, you will be certain to spot some shooting stars. The evening is the perfect time to enjoy a beer and conversation while looking down over the creek and roasting a s'mores. After a busy day, the perfect ending is dozing off with the mountain breeze coming through the windows, and the sound of the babbling creek below. On a rainy day, take some time to check out the many interesting books and board games around the house, or journey to one of the neighboring towns to do some wine tasting (Oregon Hill Winery) or to explore the world-renowned Little League World Series Museum in South Williamsport. **Our cabin was purchased as a retreat to enjoy time with family and friends, and to slow down and unwind. As such, we do not have television on the property. No matter what activities you choose to do during your visit, we know you will have a great time. We provide the linens, towels, and even some towels for the creek..all you have to bring is yourself! This property is locally-owned, and the owners are readily available in the unlikely event that any problems would arise during your stay. **Please note that a 2.5% tax will be added to any payments made using credit/debit cards, or Paypal accounts.
