~~ The Giant Sequoia National Monument protects 33 GIANT SEQUOIA Groves, and pays homage to these amazing 250-foot-plus Sequoias (up to 20 feet in diameter) by sharing Them with us. Thanks and blessings ~
~ The Trail of 100 Giants (Universally Handicap Accessible) travels 1/2 mile, exploring flora and fauna among the Giant Sequoias: Self Guided trail, breath-taking views( and benches!) to sit and enjoy the forest.
~ Visitors can enjoy six major Groves: Hiking/BIKING/ picnicking by the stream, all within The Giant Sequoia National Monument.
* Pines, fragrant Cedars and the majestic Giant Sequoias ~ Camp Nelson (elev 4524 ft.) sits 'above' The San Joaquin Valley and is HOT!!! (be safe!)

The Stagg Tree (5th largest and 2nd stoutest tree in the world) ~ 25 minute drive, and then an easy (tennis shoes/hiking boots) 1/2 mile hike.
The Belknap Grove is a lovely grove within 2 miles of my home, and it is the Trail Head to the Camp Nelson/Quaking Aspen Trail (MOUNTAIN BIKING!!!) which follows the river through 2 more Giant Sequoia Groves ~
