The SpaceWelcome to Heartland, our beautiful 210 year old farmhouse and beloved land, located in Western Hudson Valley. 90 minutes from NYC and 5 minutes away from the nearest train station.
Rolling fields and exquisite light. Watch the sun rise from the front porch, then watch it set from an adirondack chair, swing, or deck in one of the meadows. And in between watch the light move around the property, highlighting the landscape - inside and out.
The farm was once a dairy farm - the old barn is in the midst of repair. While the farm has been in our care, it has functioned mostly as a home and space for creative retreat and exploration. We have hosted many musicians, artists, yogis, foodies, and nature lovers over the years. The serene landscape has been a repeated draw for many.
Should you want to make some music while you're here, we have many instruments for you to choose from. The house is extremely private. You'll have lots of time to take in nature - monarch butterflies, hummingbirds, deer, woodchucks, wild turkey, quail, swans in the (non-swimmable) pond, geese, blue heron, our three outdoor cats, four dogs, an occasional owl.
An abundant library can keep your mind occupied or simply sit in the yoga and meditation room or in one of the meadows and find space to clear your mind.
Fully heated in Winter with oil heat, along with three working fireplaces and a wood stove. The fireplace and clawfoot tub in the master bedroom are especially romantic - providing an opportunity to truly unwind.
Bonfires outside can be enjoyed year-round as well.
If you're interested in yoga, we can arrange to have a teacher available to provide class(es) for an additional fee.
The house is romantic, quirky, and absolutely full of character. Suitable for large groups or small.
We find love, music, dancing, and peace here and we hope you will too. Guest AccessYou will have use of the majority of the house: kitchen, 3 sitting rooms (one of the sitting rooms can be cleared for yoga/meditation for groups), 6 bedrooms
