The SpaceThis is a large yet cozy studio apartment with a new queen-sized bed, a kitchenette (stove, oven, toaster, coffee maker and small fridge) and a renovated bathroom with shower. The entrance is private. The space is very quiet and opens onto acres of woods, ready for exploring. This is a convenient, affordable option when visiting the many Berkshires attractions like skiing, hiking, biking or cultural centers like Tanglewood, Kripalu, Lime Rock, Shakespeare & Co, or visiting your child at one of the many nearby boarding schools: Hotchkiss, Salisbury, Berkshire, IMS. Guest AccessThe apartment has a private stairway entrance at the back. You do not have to enter the main house to access the space; come and go as you wish! We welcome you to share our beautiful back yard and gardens. We offer off-street parking in our driveway. Interaction with GuestsWe look forward to greeting you and helping you settle in. We can offer lots of help while you are here; where to eat, what to see, etc. Because of the privacy of the space, you may interact with us as much or as little as you like. The NeighborhoodThe house is in a quiet New England town, close to loads of outdoor activities and culture. The ski areas of Butternut, Mohawk and Catamount are nearby. The local towns don't get much more quaint: Salisbury, Great Barrington and Stockbridge. For culture there's the Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Shakepeare & Co., and Berkshire Theater Festival. There is great year-round hiking and three-season biking nearby. It's within 15 minutes of the four major private schools in the area. There are two gas stations, quaint diners and a large grocery store within two blocks of the apartment.
We have a whole list of recommendations for eating and recreation upon your arrival.
