The SpaceThe Empire of Atlantium is the only country you can drive to from Australia.
Atlantium was founded in Sydney in 1981 by a trio of teenagers, and has since grown into a global civil society organisation and micronation with citizens in over a hundred countries.
We acquired a 200 acre pastoral estate near Reids Flat, NSW, in 2008, and have been developing it ever since as our ceremonial capital.
We have our own government house (the Golden House), post office, pyramid and an assortment of other monuments and buildings.
Now we're opening our borders for the first time to visitors from Australia and beyond.
If that's not unique we don't know what is! Guest AccessAtlantium is entirely independent of the Australian power, gas and water grids; Government House is equipped with LP gas fridge, stove and BBQ facilities, kerosene and woodfired heating, and solar-powered lighting. The bathroom includes a waterless composting toilet and an LP gas water-heater/shower.
To ensure the safety of guests, gas fuses are fitted to all gas appliances in Atlantium.
In addition to enjoying the amenities of Government House, guests have full access to the 0.76 sq kilometres (200 acres) of natural bushland that lies within Atlantium's borders.
They may enjoy hiking, bird-watching, mountain bike riding, picnicking or swimming in our unspoilt forests, fields and lakes, whilst taking in often breathtaking views of the surrounding Australian countryside.
They can also visit the only pyramid in Australia, along with several other commemorative monuments.
Official Atlantium souvenirs, such as stamps, coins, banknotes, postcards and flags can all be purchased from the post office. Interaction with GuestsHow often have you met the king, president or prime minister of the countries you've lived in or visited?
The monarch of Atlantium - Emperor George II - is, by contrast, a very down-to-earth fellow, and enjoys meeting and interacting with visitors to his country.
He also wears the sort of sashes and bling that monarchs usually do, and you can call him "Your Imperial Majesty" if you really want to. Ladies may curtsy if they wish, but we don't insist on it. The NeighborhoodAtlantium is situated approximately 10 kilometres south of the township of Reids Flat, on the western side of the Great Dividing Range, in a quiet pastoral district.
The nearest pub and shop are located in Bigga, 20 kilometres north of Atlantium, while the nearest hospital is 50 kilometres to the southeast, in Boorowa. Other Things to NoteAtlantium is located in a mobile coverage black spot; there is NO access to the internet, and only very limited mobile voice access, from the top of the hill behind Government House.
