The SpaceWindswept Farm was built by Samuel Moor in 1743. Over the last 270+ years it has been the home and working farm to many families. It was also a Summer Retreat and Tavern. It has been lovingly restored and now offers a quaint and comfy 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. Windswept is now a working farm and equestrian facility with riding arenas and trails. The grounds offer 140 acres of peaceful tranquility. From perennial gardens to fruit and vegetable gardens, there are many areas to explore. The views and sunsets are breathtaking. There are many hayfields and miles of groomed trails to hike, bike, snowshoe and X-C ski. The rental rate includes the NH 9% rentals tax. Your private entrance includes the original old quaint entryway with the wide floorboards, a handmade coatrack and shelf with a boot tray. There is also a small bathroom with a shower on the first floor. Up the original narrow stairway you enter into the dining/bar area opened to the fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. In each of the two bedrooms, there is a queen sized bed with crisp Egyption Cotton linens and bedside tables with lamps for reading. The master bed has a luscious pillowtop mattress. The cabin bedroom has a very comfortable firm mattress. You will find plenty of closet and bureau space to put your things away. The master bedroom has a spacious bath which is 2 steps away in the common hallway. Fluffy soft hand and bath towels are also provided in each bathroom. The apartment has a TV with a full premium cable package and the entire apartment is Wifi connected. Puzzles, magazines, books and games also provide indoor entertainment. We hope you make yourself at home on our 140 acres of gardens, trails, hayfields, forest and stone walls. There are several outdoor chairs placed around the grounds for you to relax and enjoy. All farm critters are friendly and potable, tho' our rooster can be a bit "testy", he won't bother you. Our farm mascot is Elizabeth, sweet cluckable Bantam Hen. She has a HUGE personality! A grounds and trail map is in the home manual in the apartment. We tend to give our guests their privacy after checking in. I am always just a knock or a phone call away for any needs regarding your accommodations or to give advice about the farm, restaurants, town of Canterbury, or the central NH areas. We are out in the country and live at the end of a short dirt road. Our only neighbors are our farm critters. It is typically nice and quiet with the exception of the neighing of horses and the farm tractor's rumble. A vehicle is necessary and we have plenty of parking. Although we prefer a 2 night minimum stay, on occasion we will accept a 1 night stay. We do not allow smoking in any of our buildings and can provide an ashtray upon request for smoking outside. Guest AccessPrivate entrance/foyer to the farm apartment. Anytime access to the entire farm grounds, including inground pool, barns, riding arena, greenhouse full of veggies, trails, fields and forest. Disc golf is right next door too! Interaction with GuestsWe often greet our guests and give a brief "nickel tour", and explain our farm layout. After that we give privacy, yet we are only a knock or a phone call away. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood consists of gardens, hayfields, stonewalls and forest. Getting AroundA vehicle is necessary, as we are in walking distance of farm animals only! Other Things to NoteWe offer mid week rates of $100-$119 Monday-Thursday, minimum of 2 consecutive nights. We hope to provide a peaceful haven for business folks as well as vacationers.

The SpaceIf you enjoy old homes with character and charm, this is the place for you. Was formerly known as "The Temperance Tavern" in 1790's". This is the place the stage coach came in and brought travelers and the mail. Town people came to hear the world news, meals were shared and rooms rented. Goods were bought and sold here. It was a pretty lively place. Today, we live here year round, enjoy our horses and neighbors. We have two rooms we share with fellow travelers. it is a great place to visit, and enjoy seeing many areas of New Hampshire. Guest AccessAccess to your room is from a private entrance and stairway. You have plenty of parking in our driveway. We do not serve breakfast, but do offer a coffee island in the hall. The room are separated by a large stairway and hall, so quiet and private. We stock it with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, bottled water, and a few snack items. Interaction with GuestsI will be available by texting, and will be glad to give help any way I can. We are in and out around the property. If you are coming in late we leave the door open and text you with directions to get to your room. We are pretty flexible and easy going, and try to accommodate our guests in whatever way we can. The NeighborhoodCanterbury is an old New Hampshire town. It is like stepping back in time. Visit the town square, and Country Store in Canterbury Village 3 miles away, or spend a day at Shaker Village. Lots of interesting things to learn. Take a tour of the place, or attend a workshop. People looking for old tavern experience, and country atmosphere love it here. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation, but easy access to I-93 via Concord or Tilton. Also great shopping and restaurants there as well. Go to the White Mountains in about 1 1/4 hours, or the ocean in Maine. Boston is about 1 1/4 depending on the traffic flow. The Nascar race track in only 4 miles away, and the lakes region is 15 minutes up 106. So much to enjoy here in any direction you want to go. Ski areas are also available. We enjoy Loon Mountain in Lincoln or Gunstock. Other Things to NoteThe cell phone, internet, and WiFi are all high speed Xfinity, but we are out in the country and some cells phone do not get good coverage, and the WiFi can be a weak signal. it has been checked, and there is no boosting the signal at this point.
