The SpaceOur spacious two bedroom, two bathroom apartment is on the 11th floor with views of the city and harbour. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a double bed, both with built-in cupboards and all linen and towels are provided. The en-suite bathroom has a bath to soak in after a long day of sightseeing, while the guest bathroom has a shower. The fully stocked kitchen has all you need to prepare a tasty meal and comes equipped with basic amenities (sugar, tea, salt & pepper, oil etc.) It also has all the appliances you could need, including a washing machine. The living room is large with a Juliet balcony that lets in plenty of sun on cold winter days and a cooling breeze in the hot summers. There is also free, uncapped wireless internet to keep you connected to the world. There is also a hair salon as well as a quirky vintage furniture shop on the ground floor level of the building. Just across the road you'll find a few eateries and next door you'll find a convenience store and a liquor store. Guest AccessThe whole apartment is yours to use for the duration of your stay. There is a great communal rooftop area that consists of a plunge pool with mountain views and braai facilities. There is a coin operated laundry with washers and dryers on the 3rd floor. Interaction with GuestsWe love this city and live a few minutes up the road from the apartment. We'll met you and hand over the keys and answer any questions you may have. We are always around so feel free to phone / text or email if you need anything or have any queries or issues. The NeighborhoodOur apartment is situated in the trendy east-city neighbourhood, right in the City Bowl - the heart of Cape Town, and is populated by students and young professionals. The east-city is well known as one of Cape Town's art districts and it has many cool little cafés and coffee shops tucked away in all the alleys. Table Mountain looms above this whole area, it is also close to the historical heart of the city and all the old historical neighbourhoods and houses. Even though it is in the city, the beaches are a quick ride away. Getting AroundThe MyCITI bus stop is around the corner (190m walk) and can get you to/from the airport and to most places in town during your stay. If you have a car, the apartment comes with one free underground parking with direct access into the building. There is easy highway access to get you further afield into the Cape winelands. There are many local coffee shops and restaurants (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and supermarkets within walking distance. Vibrant Long Street and all its cafes and bars is an easy 1km stroll away. The Castle of Good Hope; South African National Gallery; Iziko South African Museum; District Six Museum; The Company Gardens and the Parliament of South Africa are on your doorstep.

There is also a fabulous independent book seller on our street and Truth coffee shop is around the corner, voted the best coffee shop in the world ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Travel). The apartment block is located on the edge of the CBD in an area known as the Eastern Precinct. It built in the 1960s and is architecturally bland. The area has some beautiful old buildings spoilt by some 1950/60s structures. It is an area the city council is in the process of regenerating. There is some homelessness in the city center. The Eastern Precinct is part of the Cape Town Central City Improvement District(CCID) which is involved in cleaning and 24 hour security patrols. The CCID's work is a key reason that the Cape Town city center is regarded as the safest in the country by the South African Police Service. All of the city center is accessible on foot or by short taxi ride e.g. to the cable car or the V&A. The wine lands are definitely worth a visit for a tasting or to see the Cape Dutch architecture but for this you will either need to hire a car or take a day tour. We can usually arrange for you to leave your luggage with us if you have a late flight. Laundry and ironing can be arranged on request. Things people love about our place: 1. Central location 2. This is your apartment, not sharing with the owner, fully independent unit. PLEASE NOTE: The apartment has been recently fully re-decorated it is now best for only two people, although in special cirucmstances a mattress could be added for four people. This is the apartment I do live when in South Africa so my own decorations and collection of underwater photos are in display. All of these items are very dear to me, and I therefore would like to rent the apartment only to guests that will be committed to keep good care and do not damage any of the handicrafts. The SpaceThere are two balconies on either side of the apartment. Each bedroom opens onto one overlooking the neighborhood south mountain views. The other overlooks the harbor. On the roof of the building is a very scenic view of the whole of Cape Town from a very spacious and sociable patio. Getting AroundIn walking distance from the apartment are MyCiti bus stops throughout the day. A 5 minute walk to the train station is also another option.
